There was nothing, absolutely nothing that made Millie smart. She didn't have perfect grades, she barely knew how to perform any magic, despite knowing a whole bunch of spells. She wasn't even strong, or fast. There was nothing that made her special, despite that she could speak with snakes.

And even then, to most people, it wasn't special. It was a dark aura that instantly made her dangerous- a threat- to society. Maybe she really was just a monster. She liked girls! She could talk to snakes! She wasn't good at anything else! It seemed to be way too suspicious.

"Seriously, Meenauh, I'm not very special." She smiled sadly. "And even if I can talk to snakes, it's not special. A lot of people are gonna think it's scary." She tried to laugh again, but decided not to.

It felt more like a sob, anyway.

Millie pushed herself off of the wall, and pointed her wand in front of her, to where Meenauh could clearly see. "Bullarum Immortalem!" She called, waving her wand.

She hadn't really expected anything to happen, she had only successfully done the spell once, in front of Professor Zahid, but never again. Well, not successfully, anyway. She had tried to do it again in front of a few friends, and only made a single bubble appear. Embarassed, she decided not to practice magic again.

And then a trail of golden bubbles appeared from the tip of her wand. They were like popcorn, and seemed to pop after a few moments of existing. A bright grin appeared on the girls face, as she moved her wand closer to Meenauh, letting a few bubbles pop near her friend.

Euphrasia was at the highest levels of shyness. Or was it humbleness? As the girl tried to keep her emotions to herself, Meenauh decided to release the grasp a bit.

The release had the immediate response as she watched her friend standing straight, not leaning on the wall anymore, and pointing her wand at something. Meenauh's heart failed for just a second as she thought Euphrasia was going to point at her and most probably Obliviate her. All the ancient magic powers transferred on her by some mighty basilisk.

But she did not aim at her, but into the air. And the incantation produced... bubbles. But not regular bubbles. Those bubbles turned golden as they flew around. That was gold.

Meenauh smiled widely as she watched the beauty coming out from Euphrasia's wand and then she met her eyes on a brightly grinning face. The deepest eyes she had ever seen. The abyss she kept falling into every time Euphrasia was around. The sadness of her eyes had a reason. The mystery that lied behind those eyes was finally revealed. She kept the eye contact for just a while longer, until her heart started to pound harder, and then she broke it.

Euphrasia still seemed very silent and shy girl to Meenauh, so she spoke:

"You see? That is some perfect magic you're demonstrating. If you don't believe you're special, I could try proving you otherwise. We should practise together and you'll see how much you're capable of, darling."

As she stared blankly at the bubbles. She couldn't believe she had actually casted bubbles! At first, she wanted to cast every single spell she knew, but, somehow, Millie knew better. This was one single spell, if she had done anymore, they probably would've been duds.

She broke connection from the bubbles when she snapped back to reality by Meenauh's voice. When she looked over, the flow from her wand slowly went away. The remaining bubbles finally popped, and she took into consideration what Meenauh had said. But, why would she ever want to duel her friend? Meenauh was someone she trusted.

"Aha, I don't think I'd be able to cast anymore spells..." She trailed off as she did so often, looking through the windows. The Sun was beginning to set and she could feel the darkness enter the room. It was slow, but she could sense the moon, somehow. Millie looked over to Meenauh, pointing out the window.

"The Sun is starting to set, we should head to the Great Hall before we miss dinner," She said, picking up on her words. She was still slightly enthralled by the bubbles that appeared once ago. In fact, she could feel herself getting lost in her thoughts once more.

She snapped out of her trance before she fell too deep, and smiled at her friend. "Hey," She pocketed her wand, and grabbed her stuff. "Thanks. For letting me vent."

And like that, she left the bathrooms. Maybe she didn't get to see the Chamber and study like she wanted to, but she was able to get all of her thoughts off of her mind for once. That was what she needed. And maybe she could tell Meenauh about her problems on her sexuality, but that was a topic for another day. Another time.

For now, she was going to meet Maggie and Carson for dinner.

Euphrasia's diffidence was so surprising that Meenauh could quite talk to her clearly. That mysterious girl she remembered since day one, now a Parselmouth, was clearly one of the shiest students she has met so far. She cast a perfect Bubble-Producing Spell with a personal tint of gold, which Meenauh had never seen before. And yet she was denying her own powers stating she won't be able to cast anything else.

As Euphrasia pointed out at the window, Meenauh realised it was, indeed, getting duskier. The emptying feeling in her stomach confirmed that. She watched Euphrasia closely and after she thanked Meenauh, she realised the girl should better be left alone for a while. She opened her bag and pretended she searched for something.

"You go, I'll catch you later, it seems I forgot a book in the cabin," she said to her friend while pointing with her wand at the door behind her back, "Alohomora."

She headed to the cabin she came from after hearing the hissing, waiting for Euphrasia to leave. After opening and closing the cabin door, a few other girls opened the bathroom. She stepped away from the cabin, washed her hands in the closest sink, smiled at the two girls, most probably first-years (she watched her own fellow students enough to be able to distinguish first-years easily), and left the bathroom, thinking about why the snakes were intelligent enough to talk to wizards, and cows weren't.
