The First Battle
March 1st

Silva was terrified. She was going to have to lead this club in a major event. She might have to talk in front of a crowd. Oh she hoped so badly that there would be no crowd. If there was she might not even be able to get the words out.

She needed to calm down. She focused on her surroundings. The rehearsal room was transformed. She spent hours working on it to get it ready for tonight and ready it was. The stage was a large wooden panel laying on the ground covered in sparkly tape. There were seats lined up to the side of the stage for the performers and more seats in front of it for anyone who chose to come. There were also streamers covering the room that would be a nightmare to clean up but made it look so much better.

She turned back to the doors and watched the first person come in. A club member. She greeted them quickly and turned back to the doors as everyone began to arrive. There didn't seem to be that many observers but any was still too much for her.

She hid behind the stage after a little while and practically shuddered with fear. She eventually took some calming breaths and peeked over the stage just enough to see that the small crowd was waiting for her. She stood up very quickly and received some odd looks about where she'd been hiding before beginning to speak.

"Um..... I uh...." she paused, took another calming breath and began again "Welcome to the first battle of the battle of the bands club! If you uh.. want to join after this battle then please sign up on that paper over there" She pointed at a paper pinned next to the door. "We have three bands ready to perform tonight... each band will be..... each will be competing against both other bands" She kept her gaze trained on the floor. "Each band has prepared two different songs for the battles....."

She flicked her eyes up quickly "Um... could Eugenia Kargiorgadi... and um... Evpravsika Vingradva come to the stage..." She winced at her own mispronunciation of their names. "Um... for the other team it will be Eonaria Kubukmono.. um Avis Marlong, and uh... Lyanna Oak... please come to the stage..." She did better pronouncing it that time. She was pretty sure she'd only gotten one of them wrong. She retreated to the corner of the stage and let them get their instruments tuned and ready. Once they were ready she pointed at Eugenia and whatever the other persons name was and said "Ready?" time to start "Alright... the first team may begin playing at their leisure."

Team 1 - 20

Team 2 - 28

I know its all a mess right
now but just read below
So... I know no one's sent me their owl, and most of the club never responded to my check-ins, but we're still doing it! Cause I'm stubborn! So, please send me the names to both songs you will be playing that follow the theme of winter songs by the end of the week. For people in the first round, please respond within two weeks. Team 1, you are at an 8 point disadvantage, but I will make sure to even that out. For people not in the club you can find it here

Avery walked into the battle excited and nervous at the same time. She had only practiced the songs a handful of times, so she didn't really know what to expect when it came the time to compete. She had never actually played her saxophone in front of people before, not even her parents, so that's what scared her the most. All she hoped was that she wouldn't choke up during the beginning or any part of the song.

Avery pulled out her saxophone and put it together. Making sure to gently check it over to make sure it was ready. Then she put the beautiful instrument to her mouth and began to play some simple scales. Adjusting her mouthpiece whenever she felt she was too sharp or too flat.

Once she was satisfied with her tuning, she waited for everyone else to finish. She was amazed at how beautiful some of the instruments sounded. As she watched them being tuned, she was also amazed to see instruments she had never seen before. Avery made a mental note to herself to ask about those instruments later. They looked and sounded so beautiful.

After taking a deep breath, Avery pulled out her music and awaited the coming battle.
