Reading huh? Of course, we're all Ravenclaws here what else could we be doing with books?" Nox thought, laughing to himself. He puts his book on the table looking at the girl who was reading another book.
"So what are classes like at Hogwarts?" Nox asked curiously "I haven't received my timetable just yet and I'm curious about it." It was true I still have not received a timetable just yet about where he was meant to be and what class he had.
In some ways it was a good thing as it gave him the time he wanted to roam the school grounds which has so far just been the library. Though he hopes to be able to explore the school grounds a bit more once he knows where things are and where he should be at certain times, to avoid missing out on class, because he was after a Ravenclaw.
Despite having family who attend this school I have never really been introduced told what it was like to be sitting in a class at Hogwarts. Most stories that I have been told are either Quidditch related or Hogsmeade related.
I rest my chin on my hand as I waited for the Opal to answer.

Opal looked up. "Oh, my Arithmancy class is awesome, Charms is just plain amazing, DADA is cool too, and Potions is fun as well, same with Herbology," She lowered her head and set her voice at a whisper. "I already have top grades in each." That being said, she went back to reading.
As Opal read, thoughts began to poke up in her mind. I wonder if I'm being a bit showy... Or, stuck-up, maybe? Whatever, it's not like I care! But, after a while, more thoughts began to slip into her mind, like Hm, I wonder if I have room in my trunk for From Egg to Inferno: a Dragon-Keeper's Guide. But, the boys are still here! Plus, I know that the other boy, Gem, I think, only half-joking when he was talking about the Librarian. Well, she's fierce, but she likes me!
After a good while, Opal shut her book and did her Arithmancy homework. When the boys watched her, it looked like she was merely writing a sentence, the way she did it. It was impressive to watch, but a bit annoying. After she finished, she asked the boys "Want to play Wizard Chess? I have a small set in my room." Opal drummed her fingers on the table as she waited for an answer.

As he listened to Opal describe her classes to him, he couldn't help but roll his eyes slightly as Opal was behaving a bit showy, but that doesn't matter. As a Ravenclaw you had to be proud of your academic achievements, always since it was what the house was known for and will be known for.
"That's really cool." Nox commented, secretly he did admire the girl for her confidence.
Wow. The classes doesn't sound too bad, hopefully the professors are as good as she describes them as. Mum use to tell me that some professors have favourites if not all of them secretly do have one or two students they pay particular attention to. Oh well, I'll have to see for myself if what she tells me is true or not. Plus it can't be that bad could it? Nox thought to himself, assuring himself with a small smile.
He watches Opal do her arithmancy work for bit and was slightly bewildered that her writing style made it seem like she was writing a sentence despite the fact that she was dealing with numbers.
This girl is really cool. He thought again.
"Yeah I would love to. " Nox replied. Although the game may seem brutal sometimes he still enjoyed it. He wasn't the best player but he wasn't bad at it either.
"What about you Gem?" He asked the boy sitting beside him.

Gem hadn't really been paying attention from that point on, his mind spacey for whatever reason. He was sorting through things he'd been planning out in his head, what he'd do and all... did he make plans today? He couldn't remember.
"What about you Gem?"
"Huh?" He snapped his head in the direction of Nox, who'd been looking at him expectantly for an answer. He probably looked like an idiot. What were they talking about? Chess, was it? "Oh, uh... mm, well, I... I think I'd like ta watch you two, but..." He felt like he was forgetting something, like he had to be somewhere right now. What time was it? Would that remind him?
Oh.
OH, he had a study date with someone else-- that's what it was! Shite, shiteshiteshiteshite, okay.
"Actually, I've got to go. Now. It wos nice knowin' you guys, hopefully we can talk sometime else!" His sentences came out rushed, gathering all his things in a hurry. "I'm so sorreh, I've just... I have ta do somefin'. Bye!" And he was rushing out, leaving the book of plants on the table for them to take care of. He felt bad, rushing out like that with little to no warning, but he'd have to give them a proper apology later.
(OOC: Gem leaves.)
What really knocks me out is a book that, when you're all done reading it, you wish the author that wrote it was a terrific friend of yours and you could call him up on the phone whenever you felt like it. That doesn't happen much, though.

Nox cocked his head up slightly waiting for the boy to respond to his offer. As he waited he noticed that Gem was kind of in the clouds a bit, as if his soul had left his body for a moment. He wondered what was going on in that boy's head.
When the boy finally replied with a rather rushed answer and left the library, leaving his book on plants behind Nox tilted his head slightly and furrowed his eyebrows. He was relatively confused.
"Guess it's a no then." He muttered under his breath, as he took the book Gem had left behind and returned it to the shelf where it belongs. He returned to the table he was at, grabbing his own book.
He goes up to the librarian's desks and borrows the book he had been distracted from for the past twenty or so minutes of his life. As he heads back to the desk he was at finding Opal and her large piles of books he couldn't help but chuckle slightly. In a way he could relate to this girl a lot. Back home he'd use to borrow ten books in a row from the library and spend the whole night reading them.
"Would you like some help carrying those back to you dormitory?" He offered.

Opal glanced up from her reading at him, so absorbed she didn't see Gem leave. She nodded.
"Yeah, but I'm not leaving yet." Opal looked around, expecting to see Gem, and looked at Nox curiously.
"Where'd Gem go?" She was confused as to why he left. Nox shrugged and returned to his seat. "So, wanna play?" Opal slowly withdrew her wand out of her pocket, and tapped it against the desk. It made a soft knocking noise, just as it should. She chuckled and put it away. Opal grabbed her bag and reached into it, pulling out a small box. On the top, it read: Wizards Chess. She opened it, and the pieces magically flew onto the desk, setting themselves up. Opal laughed and smiled as she watched.
Finally, the pieces were ready to be played. She drew herself to her full height, as she was slouching forward before, and Opal was going to concentrate. Opal reached out to the pieces to start the game, and the knight she reached for swatted it away. She tried to grab it, to her dismay. Opal looked across the table to see Nox snickering. She sighed, and sternly said "What? Sometimes," Opal looked at her chess pieces, that somewhat cowered under her gaze, "These guys let me play them the Muggle way." The knight she was trying to grab yelled back at her. "It's only on certain days!" Opal cried back angrily, "It's a Wednesday, you dolt!" The knight shook his fist at her and yelped, "I said Wednesdays before three!" She sank back into her chair, and said quietly, "It's no use fighting. We'll never start the match this way. Don't worry, don't worry, I'll play the Wizard's way."
