Water's Edge
Logan had been outside for an hour and nothing interesting had caught her attention so far. It was getting close to dinner time and she honestly had no idea what to do until then. The brunette was bored and so far had only made one friend, and she didn't even know where she was at. With a huff, she started making her way towards the Great Lake. Maybe something there would interest her so she wouldn't be extremely bored until dinner time. Logan really just wanted someone to talk to, it was getting lonely not having her family around. Shoving her hands into her yellow and black robes, that she honestly thought reminded her of a little bee.
Logan sat at the base of a tree near the Great Lake, pulling an old astronomy book out of her bag. She had already finished the homework for the class, but she thought she might continue reading more into it since she loved the class so much.
Since it was a rather quiet day down by the lake, she found it easy to read the book without disruption. The only sound the small first year could hear was the chirping of some birds and the flipping of the pages of the old book. Her aunt had given her the book, it apparently having been her mother's when she was younger. Her mother had once told her that she wanted to study Astronomy more after graduating from Hogwarts, but never got to after meeting Logan's father.
Logan shook her head at the thoughts and looked back at her book, looking at all of the constellations and determining if she had seen any of them before in her life. The Hufflepuff knew no one would bother coming over and talking to the girl that was reading a book by the lake.

Maggie had always had a talent for losing things. She didn’t know why— it was just a constant for her. However, since she had become so adept at losing things, she had also become quite good at finding them.
She had no doubt in her mind that her jacket would be by the sprawling oak tree only a few feet from the Great Lake, aka one of her favorite spots to hang out. She’d petitioned for a tire swing there, but no one really loved the idea that much, besides Maggie, that is.
As she neared the tree, she noticed a girl sitting at the base of it, reading a dusty old book and facing the water. Huh. She hadn’t seen her around before, was she in her year?
The girl had long brown hair and pale skin, and Maggie couldn’t tell her eye color from her but as she drew closer, it revealed itself to be a pretty blue color.
“Hello?” Maggie asked, “Sorry— I’m interrupting. I’m just looking for my jacket, I left it here last night when I was hanging out with my friends.”
Maggie smiled, remembering last night, when she, Carson, Tatiana, and Charlotte had been laughing together under the oak. She looked to the girl, question in her eyes as she silently asked if she’d seen it.

Logan's head snapped up at the sound of someone speaking from beside her. She noticed a girl, probably only a little older than her, standing looking at her. The brunette honestly had not expected anyone to come up to her while she was reading, but it was a reason for the older girl to talk to her though.
Logan thought about what the girl said and shook her head, "Sorry, I haven't seen a jacket around this area, although I haven't been here long and may not have seen it," she spoke honestly as she pushed her hair out of her face. She honestly hadn't seen a jacket in the area. Logan marked her spot in the book and set it down as she stood up. "I can help if you would like." she said with a smile as she looked at the girl, "I am Logan by the way."
She dusted off her robes, making sure that nothing had stuck to them while she was sitting down beside the old tree. She didn't want to ruin one of her only robes and have to spend money on new ones when that wasn't needed and she could just make sure her current robes stayed clean.
