Wow, you're probably much better than me, I only started late last year, I'm a drummer by trade, been playing it for three years now. At this point I'm just barely able to read sheet music passably I gotta practice more

Wow, you're probably much better than me, I only started late last year, I'm a drummer by trade, been playing it for three years now. At this point I'm just barely able to read sheet music passably I gotta practice more

That's awesome that you can read sheet music after being a drummer! One tip I could say that I've learned over the years is to practice. If you practice and try new things, you can sometimes learn something you never knew you could do! Another tip is getting into band camps (where you play with other bands). I've learned so much from playing with other saxophones from other schools!

haha thanks Brookline and Avery. Tbh the biggest problem right now is that there's barely any bands at my school, I'm trying to get a band going with a few other people, and also trying to get into my school's jazz band. There literally only three sax players at my school and one of them is our best drummer.... Right now I really just want to practice, gonna practice at break right after this class

The band at my school is really small too. My school has only a little over 600 people. (We have pre-school to Seniors). Normally, I am the only saxophone, but this year there are two other saxophones which is nice. Good luck on your practice! You can do it!

Yeah I gotta work hard, for the sake of our jazz band!! they have no sax right now so I'm hoping to get better at reading sheet music and join, I do love the music they play, they do most of our big events at school so I'd love to join. And good luck on yours too! Hope the band is going well
