Where Wildflowers Grow
| ———— |
・❥・ ・❥・•Veela Allure in Effect• —date. [ 03/03/25]———event. [Where Wildflowers Grow]——————------------------------ Sebastian woke up that morning to an empty bed. As it should be, one may think, but what most may not know, something... strange happened last night in the Gryffindor Boys Dormitory. He'd been woken up by one of the few boys he knew in his house, dumbfounded to find him in his dorm. Honestly, he still didn't know why he'd been there. Hadn't really asked after they'd ended up cuddling and talked about each others families. It had been a surprisingly sweet and intimate moment, and Sebastian was a bit relieved when he realized he was alone the next morning. He wasn't quite sure what he would do, how he would act, if he had still been in someone's arms. A boy's arms no less. No question that it had been comfortable at the time; Before he knew it, he'd fallen asleep, the only evidence that there had been another boy in his bed was that he'd left a souvenir. Well, two. First, he saw the little note on the bedside table. Goodmorning, sweetheart. Sebastian stared at the note with wide eyes, a heat creeping up his neck and face through the disarranged, pink satin pajama he wore. So, it hadn't been a really vivid dream. Fuck. What did this mean? Actually, he didn't even want to consider it, afraid he would lose his mind if he allowed his mind to go there. Yet he couldn't bring himself to throw it away. Instead, he tucked the note inside the drawer for now, so he wouldn't have to face the growing dilemma. A dilemma he wasn't even aware of until now. He ran his hands through his hair, groaning. What the fuck was his life?! Seriously?! The worst part about this was that he had no one to talk to about it. Despite having an abundance of admirers, Sebastian realized he was utterly and completely alone. The only one he would have spoken to about this, funny enough, was the bane of his problems. FUCK! Glancing around, his eyes caught something familiar but totally out of place. At the end of the bed laid a forlorn pot with a single, sad and on-the-brink-of-death peony inside. The peony he had gifted Eldred a few weeks ago. Not only was it practically dead, but now his bed was dirty and filled with soil. Great. At least this had an easy solution. Jumping out of bed, he cleaned up the sheets to the best of his abilities, since he hadn't learned a proper cleaning charm yet, and changed clothes before he headed to the greenhouse with the peony. A last attempt to save it, it seemed. Hmm... Maybe that's why Eldred had shown up in his dorm... Then why hadn't he said anything? Because you were too fucking busy seducing him to give you backrubs. A traitorous voice told him. Shaking his head, he forced the boy out of his mind. It was too confusing for him to think about. It was easier to focus on something he knew--- flowers. The other flowers in the greenhouse from Sebastian's personal collection were doing great, as always, he noted as he carefully pushed the glass doors open. The question was if this one could be saved? He would at least try. tag. [@Yuki Delmotte ]—( codes by uly. )— | ———— |

Where Wildflowers Grow
| —— | •──────────• 𝙙𝙖𝙩𝙚 : 03/03/25 𝓋𝑒𝓃𝓉 : Where Wildflowers Grow •──────────• Yuki was was feeling good that day. Maybe it was the weather —not even a cloud in the sky— or the fact that it was the weekend. Anyways, it was the perfect opportunity to go for a walk. Moreover, the day before she had done her homework at the library, so she was completely free and she didn't have to worry about anything. After taking her wand and an apple if she was hungry, she She walked happily towards the greenhouses. She had discovered the place earlier in the year and had fallen in love with it. The rich scent of the flowers and the bright colors of their petals had the gift of soothing her. She loved walking up and down the paths and taking care of every plants. And above all, the place was full of her favorite flowers, the sunflowers. She had a weakness for wildflowers, to tell the truth. Maybe they reflected her own character. Yuki was a simple girl, but cold outside. However, if one didn’t pay attention to her thorns, she was a good company and never worried about trivialities. She liked nature and sunny days, just like this one, in fact. But, when she entered the greenhouse, she frowned. There was someone else here. She took a few steps into the room, smiling at the sight of the flowers and green plants. She decided not to bother asking who the person in the room was and headed towards the sunflowers. The flowers were doing perfectly well, but she still watered them to hydrate them. She grimaced at the noise the other person was making. Whoever it was, he didn’t seem to be in a very good mood. She hesitated for a moment. Should she go see who the person was and talk to them or leave them alone? She could understand after all, there were good times and bad times. Yuki liked to talk about her problems when she had ones but she knew how some people just wanted to be alone with their thoughts. Oh, well. She headed towards the source of the noise. She was surprised to come across a boy her age who was trying as best he could to save a wilted flower. A peony, she noted in her head. The boy was a Gryffindor and Yuki knew when she saw him that he was Part-Veela. He had a perfect symmetrical face and incredible green eyes. His brown hair was neatly styled and she detected his charm, nevertheless she didn't flinch. Her parents had told her about Veelas that she had found fascinating a long time when she was little. She knew how attractive they could look, but also how mind-bending it could be. At that moment, she was curious to know what was troubling the Griffin and why he was desperately trying to save a flower that was undoubtedly impossible to revive. She tilted her head to the side and said, a little hesitantly. — “Hi. I’m Yuki. Actually, I didn’t want to disturb you but I was nearby and I heard you. You seem a little entangled with this peony, can I do something to help you?” She had spoken in a calm voice, as she did so well. She was never losing her calm and it wasn’t a Part-Veela that was going to change things. Nevertheless, this boy intrigued her and if she could do something to help him, she wouldn’t hesitate. •──────────•

Where Wildflowers Grow
| ———— |
・❥・ ・❥・•Veela Allure in Effect• —date. [ 03/03/25]———event. [Where Wildflowers Grow]——————------------------------ Despite there being little hope for this peony, Sebastian tried the things he could think of. He knew flowers, and there were several things he could try before calling it a lost cause. Granted, none of his peonies had ever gotten this bad before an intervention, but he would try. First, he put it on one of the sun-soaked tables, right under the glass ceiling where the early— very early— spring sun was beaming strongest. He took a step back to gauge the damage from a distance, seeing nothing more than an ugly, rotten-looking plant. Though the sun made it look a little bit better. Obviously, the fix wouldn’t be immediate. At least not without magic, but as usual, Sebastian had a very limited spell repertoire. The next step was to prepare a new container with fresh, fertilized soil. Putting on a pair of gloves, he carefully repotted it to the new, fresh pot with lightly damp soil, removing some rotten roots that he could spot as he did so. What was left in the old pot was mostly really depressing looking and soaked dirt. Maybe he’d accidentally watered it too much, Sebastian speculated quietly while he worked. Miraculously managing to keep a neat and clean space around him. After all that and a bit more, Sebastian studied the peony, hoping to see some magical shift in it, but was once again disappointed. Seb was unfortunately certain that despite all his efforts, it couldn’t get much better than this. And it was really fucking bad. Seb muttered. ”Really, how hard can it be?” To water sometimes, and leave it in the sun, for one. Secondly, how hard can it be to learn a spell to save flowers? I mean, things like this happened— the circle of life, but it still felt frustrating. During his all-for-nothing efforts, Seb hadn’t noticed that someone had been watching him, until they spoke. It wasn’t the first time he’d ran into other students and the herbology teacher while he was here, so her presence, despite being a bit sudden, didn’t startle him. Struggling was putting it lightly. ”That is one way to put it,” Seb answered immediately with a soft sigh, before he’d even seen her. Glancing away from the dead flower to the girl who’d spoken to him, he was met by a sweet looking girl. At least she came across as a sweetheart to him, but he’d never been that great at reading people in general. ”Yuki is a cute name.” And he meant it earnestly, not one to be sparse with compliments where they were due. Though in this case, maybe he should have complimented her parents for picking it. Anyway, ”I’m Sebastian,” he introduced himself. Yuki offered to help him, and he just smiled defeatedly at her. While that was a really nice offer, she seemed to be his age… Which meant she probably hadn’t learned that many spells yet either. ”Maybe? Do you know any spells to save flowers?” tag. Where Wildflowers Grow
| —— | •──────────• 𝙙𝙖𝙩𝙚 : 03/03/25 𝓋𝑒𝓃𝓉 : Where Wildflowers Grow •──────────• She watched him for a moment, intrigued. He seemed completely lost in his thoughts, as if nothing else around him existed. His shoulders were slightly slumped, his hands still in front of the withering plant, and he let out a weary sigh that made her frown slightly. She wasn’t sure why, but there was something almost sad about his posture, a kind of resignation that clashed with the effort he had obviously put into trying to save this flower. When he finally looked up at her, she found herself smiling, almost unconsciously. A boy so attached to a plant—it wasn’t something you saw every day. It wasn’t that she found it ridiculous. Far from it. It was more… endearing? No, that wasn’t the right word. Interesting, maybe. After all, it wasn’t every day that you saw a Gryffindor so determined to save a dying peony. She wondered for a moment if the flower had sentimental value to him. A gift from someone important? That would explain his persistence, despite how obvious it was that the plant was probably beyond saving. Her gaze lingered on the boy for a moment, and when he complimented her name, she rolled her eyes, amused. He had said it sincerely, and yet she couldn’t help but reply with a mockingly self-satisfied tone. — "Yeah, I know. Thanks." She let out a small laugh, wondering if he would catch the humor in her words or just take them at face value. Maybe he wouldn’t even react at all. It didn’t really matter. When he introduced himself as Sebastian, she simply nodded. Sebastian. It suited him, she thought. Not too extravagant, not too plain. . She considered saying something about it—returning the compliment, maybe—but hesitated. Was that even something people did? If she told him she thought his name was nice, would he take it the wrong way? In the end, she decided to stay quiet. Noticing his defeated smile, she instantly knew she wouldn’t be of much help. After all, they were only in their first year, and their knowledge of spells was still limited—especially when it came to reviving a dying plant. She shook her head slightly, feeling a bit bad for him. — "No, you’re right, I won’t be much help with that..." Her eyes flickered back to the withering peony. The wilted petals, the drooping stems, the damp soil that looked almost too heavy… She wasn’t an expert, but even she could tell the situation was bad. And yet, he was still here, refusing to give up. She hesitated for a moment. Normally, she didn’t pry into other people’s business. But this time, curiosity got the best of her. Why was he so insistent? It was just a flower. He could easily plant another one, pick a new one—one that was healthier, stronger. But no. He wanted to save this one.. Taking a small breath, she finally spoke before she could second-guess herself. — "Do you want to talk about it?" she asked, then quickly added, "You seem to care a lot about this flower… Is it a gift?" Her voice came out a little hesitant. After all, maybe he didn’t want to talk about it. Maybe she had just asked the wrong question and he would tell her to mind her own business. She was expecting that, to be honest. But if he did answer… well, she’d learn something about him. And she wasn’t sure why, but she kind of liked that idea. •──────────•

・❥・ ・❥・•Veela Allure in Effect• —date. [ 03/03/25]———event. [Where Wildflowers Grow]——————------------------------ As he feared, Yuki— god, he actually loved that name— knew as little as Sebastian did when it came to reviving plant magic. “Being a first year sucks, can barely use magic for anything,” he couldn’t help but pout, jutting his full bottom lip, albeit with a bit of humor. Being a first year at Hogwarts was cooler than being stuck in muggle school, at least that was for certain. Seb glanced at the flower again, contemplating. Should he just give up? Maybe he could give Eldred a new peony instead—this time making sure to instill some proper flower-handling skills before leaving him to his own devices. The boy clearly needed it. His interest in the wilted flower must seem quite odd, he realized when Yuki pointed it out. He hummed… There wasn’t much to say about the flower per se, but he wasn’t sure he was ready to talk about everything surrounding it. Eventually, he spoke. “It is a gift, but not for me. I gave it to a friend not too long ago. He’s not too good at gardening…” Clearly! Evident by the shitty condition this poor flower was in. It was almost admirable how bad it had gotten in just a few weeks, in an exceptionally bad kind of way. There was nothing mean about the way he said it, just the truth. “He gave it back to me, probably because he needed serious help, so I wanted to do my best to save it. It might be too late though. Next time, I’ll just give a plastic one.” At least then it wouldn’t die. That was a small condolence. Slowly coming to terms that it was probably better to just leave it and give him another flower instead, Seb shrugged, turning to Yuki again with a smile.. A bit sad, he’ll admit, but who would he be to dwell on things? “What about you? I’ve never seen you here before.” tag. [@Yuki Delmotte ]—( codes by uly. )— | ———— |

Where Wildflowers Grow
| —— | •──────────• 𝙙𝙖𝙩𝙚 : 03/03/25 𝓋𝑒𝓃𝓉 : Where Wildflowers Grow •──────────• After she confirmed his words, Sebastian looked more disappointed than ever. The way he pouted, lips jutted out just enough to exaggerate his frustration, was almost comical. Yuki had to fight back a laugh. She didn’t want to seem rude, but there was something oddly endearing about how dramatic he was being. At least he seemed to be taking the situation lightly. Maybe they could get along after all. — "Yeah, it's a real shame. And yet, they have no trouble drowning us in homework! Being a wizard is tough," she replied, her voice dripping with playful irony. Sebastian's attention drifted back to the peony, his brows furrowing slightly as he studied the wilted petals. It was like he was debating something in his head. And then, as if realizing how odd his fixation on the flower might have seemed, he hesitated before speaking. Now understanding the situation a little better, Yuki gave him a slow nod. — "Oh, I see. That makes more sense now. And, well... yeah, it's not exactly hard to notice," she added with a little smile. It really wasn’t. His friend must have been absolutely terrible at taking care of plants. She glanced at the peony again, pursing her lips. It was actually impressive in the worst way possible—had it even been watered once? Probably not. As Sebastian kept talking, something in his explanation caught her attention. She frowned slightly. — "Probably? He didn’t even give it back to you in person?" That was odd. If the flower meant enough for Sebastian to go through the trouble of trying to revive it, the least his friend could have done was return it properly. Then, when Sebastian sighed and mentioned just giving a plastic flower next time, Yuki couldn’t help but laugh. — "That’s a bit sad, though, don’t you think?" she said, smiling. "Plastic flowers aren’t the same. They don’t smell nice, they don’t change with the seasons… there’s no life in them. It wouldn’t be a real gift anymore." Sebastian shrugged, his expression thoughtful. But that small, almost imperceptible sadness in his smile didn’t go unnoticed. "He must really care about this friend," Yuki thought, glancing at him. "First, he gave them a flower, and now he’s trying to bring it back to life for them. That’s kind of sweet, actually." But he didn’t seem too upset about the situation. If anything, he had the air of someone who knew when to let go of things. That was probably a good trait to have. When he asked his next question, Yuki blinked, momentarily surprised. She actually came here all the time… and judging by this conversation, so did he. So how had they never run into each other before? — "Well, actually, I come here almost every weekend. I guess we’ve just missed each other until now", she then added with a soft smile, " but I came to see the sunflowers. They're my favorite flowers." She hesitated for a second before continuing, slightly embarrassed by how unimportant that sounded. — "I don’t know why, but they’ve always been my favorite. Maybe because they follow the sun, or because they just seem… happy." That was a silly way to describe a flower, but it was true. There was something comforting about sunflowers, something warm. •──────────•

Where Wildflowers Grow
| ———— |
・❥・ ・❥・•Veela Allure in Effect• —date. [ 03/03/25]———event. [Where Wildflowers Grow]——————------------------------ “Well… Yes and no,” Sebastian thought back to the previous night. They’d talked about a lot of things, just not the flower he’d dumped in his bed. “He left it in my bed.” There was a thoughtful, bemused tone to his voice as he said it. That probably would make as little sense to Yuki as it did to Sebastian, believe me, but it was the truth. Without mentioning the weird situation around it. She was right that a plastic flower wouldn’t be the same, but Eldred clearly did not possess a green thumb. It would be a waste to just gift flowers if he couldn’t take care of them properly, and then had to sneak back to him to beg him to save it. Granted, he hadn’t begged, but that's besides the point. The way she spoke about the flowers as if they were living things(duh, they were) with personality made him look at her curiously, perhaps prompting him further to ask about what she was doing here. Sebastian was surprised to hear that she came to the greenhouses every weekend. It was kind of a miracle they hadn’t run into each other until now. “Really? I’m here almost everyday!” He would have known if he’d seen her though. Sebastian glanced in the direction of the sunflowers when she mentioned they were her favourites. Her reasoning, that they looked happy, made total sense to him. He noticed that she seemed to be a bit embarrassed to admit it, but he just thought it was cute. Besides, he agreed with her. It was a good analogy, though it wasn’t necessarily his favorite flower. His mind travelled briefly back to another girl he knew loved sunflowers: Lyanna Oak. Wonder if they knew each other? “Yeah, they are happy flowers, aren’t they?” Sebastian grinned, glancing in the direction of the sunflowers again. The sun and happiness went hand in hand. “You can’t be in a bad mood when it’s sunny outside. Likewise, I guess you can’t be sad when looking at a sunflower. Though my favorites are peonies.” Flashing her a smile, he shrugged, not sure why that was, but it just was. “I guess I just love pink and fluffy things?” Gesturing for her to follow, he walked over to the corner he’d been assigned where his personal botanical collection was. “I brought these ones from home, that’s why I’m here everyday. Gotta make sure they stay in shape. Someone fucked them up once as a prank, but they look alright now.” Flawless even. He scrunched his nose a bit at the memory, but he was largely over it by now. Sebastian turned to Yuki, standing closer together this time. “Lyanna Oak also loves sunflowers, like you. She’s a hufflepuff, do you know her?” Immediately, he thought they would get along based on that alone. Well, she'd told him she liked sunflowers when he'd asked her, but what was really the difference? tag. [@Yuki Delmotte ]—( codes by uly. )— | ———— |

Where Wildflowers Grow
| —— | •──────────• 𝙙𝙖𝙩𝙚 : 03/03/25 𝓋𝑒𝓃𝓉 : Where Wildflowers Grow •──────────• Yuki paused for a moment, slightly perplexed. He had left it in his bed? She wasn’t entirely sure what he meant by that—he didn’t seem to know himself—so she decided not to press the matter. If it was something he wanted to explain, he would. For now, it was probably best to let it go. — “Mm… Alright,” she said, letting him know she wouldn’t insist. She was relieved to see that Sebastian didn’t seem fazed by the way she spoke about flowers. That reassured her. Not only did he clearly care about them, but he also seemed like a genuinely kind person. His reaction to learning she visited the greenhouses every weekend mirrored her own surprise. — "That makes it even funnier that we’ve never run into each other before," she said with a small laugh, shaking her head at the irony. When she talked about sunflowers, Sebastian turned his gaze toward them, as if seeing them in a new light. He didn’t seem to think her reasoning was odd at all. — "Yeah, exactly," she confirmed, a little more confidently this time. "There’s something calming about them." She wasn’t surprised when he admitted that peonies were his favorite flowers. After watching him put so much effort into saving one, it made complete sense. She smiled when he playfully said he just liked pink and fluffy things. — "There’s absolutely nothing wrong with that," she said, her smile widening slightly. When he motioned for her to follow him, she did so without hesitation, curious about what he wanted to show her. He led her to what appeared to be his own little section of the greenhouse. As she listened to him explain, her expression shifted from curiosity to mild disbelief. — "Wait… Someone actually messed with them on purpose?" she asked, frowning. She let out an annoyed sigh, shaking her head. "Pff, there really are idiots everywhere. I don’t see what they even get out of it." It was genuinely frustrating. If someone had deliberately damaged the sunflowers, she would have been furious. Honestly, what kind of joke was that supposed to be? Some people just didn’t seem to have anything better to do. She admired the way Sebastian handled it, though. He wasn’t bitter or angry about it—just determined to take care of his flowers. That, in itself, was impressive. Then he turned to her and mentioned someone named Lyanna Oak. Yuki recognized the name. She knew quite a few people from their year, though she and the Hufflepuff had never spoken. She shook her head. — "I’ve never talked to her before. But if I had known she liked sunflowers, I definitely would have," she admitted with a small, amused smile. It had been at least half an hour since they started talking, but it hadn’t felt that long at all. She liked Sebastian’s company. He was easygoing, didn’t make things complicated, and had a calm energy that made him pleasant to be around. And, more importantly, they seemed to get along effortlessly. •──────────•

・❥・ ・❥・•Veela Allure in Effect• —date. [ 03/03/25]———event. [Where Wildflowers Grow]——————------------------------ Sebastian nodded with an exasperated look on his face. Turning to his pots, he mindlessly felt the soil with his fingers to see if they needed any attention today, but they felt fine. “Yeah, someone did. Made them grow awful teeth that bit me in the ass when I was going to tend to them!” It had been awful, but eventually someone had helped him turn them back to normal. He couldn’t blame the monster flowers for finding him tasty, because he was, but that had really fucking hurt. It would have kind of been a funny joke… if it had been to someone else and not his flowers. Yuki didn’t know Lyanna, but she agreed that they should talk. "You should! She's a really nice girl," Seb quipped in enthusiasm, since they seemed to have things in common. Superficial things one may think, except Seb who mostly, if not only, had superficial things in common with all of his so-called friends. He didn’t mind this. It was kind of a deliberate choice of him to not get too deep with people. Hence why this situation with Eldred had turned his world upside-down. Even his dad whom he loved and trusted knew little about Sebastian's emotional life. Most people probably believed Sebastian was too care-free and ditzy to feel much at all. They were kind of right… because if he were to indulge in deeper feelings, it would complicate things. And if it was one thing the avoidant boy hated, it was complicated stuff that tended to open up for arguments. There were after all worse things than flowers to bond over. Time just seemed to fly by when he talked to Yuki, which further convinced him that he quite liked the girl. It didn’t feel forced, just effortless. He might even go so far to consider her a friend of his now. Seb had considered people ‘close’ to him for way less, by close I meant as close as one could be considered his person, even if they might not share the same sentiment. It didn’t actually matter to what extent he considered her a friend, it just meant he would acknowledge her in the halls now whenever he saw her. Potentially invite her to places, if she was interested. “Well, I suppose I’ll see you around? I’ll be keeping an eye out.” Seb said the last part playfully. So they didn’t accidentally miss each other again. tag. [@Yuki Delmotte ]—( codes by uly. )— | ———— |

Where Wildflowers Grow
| —— | •──────────• 𝙙𝙖𝙩𝙚 : 03/03/25 𝓋𝑒𝓃𝓉 : Where Wildflowers Grow •──────────• Yuki didn’t know whether she should keep feeling offended by the bad joke played on the flowers or just laugh it off. Sebastian seemed to take it rather well, joking about it, but she could tell it hadn’t been a great experience for the Gryffindor. Seriously, didn’t people have anything better to do? Attacking plants—flowers, of all things. She just couldn’t understand it. She smiled at the boy’s enthusiasm as he talked about Lyanna. He seemed to think the two girls would get along well, and to be honest, Yuki thought so too. A girl who loves sunflowers and is a Hufflepuff? She must be a real gem, she thought with amusement. — “Maybe you could introduce me to her? Besides having the same favorite flower, we might also have a friend in common.” She pronounced the word “friend” without difficulty, now considering it normal. After all, they had been talking for a while—without any trouble, no less. She usually struggled to interact with other people. Back in elementary school, which was entirely Muggle—since her parents wanted her to adapt no matter where she was—people had often been fake around her. She never understood why—they would talk behind her back the moment she looked away. In the end, she distanced herself from people and their prejudices, choosing to stay by herself, convinced that any friends she made would always expect something from her. She never understood why her parents—especially her mother—had insisted on placing her in such a school. She loved them, but she couldn’t figure them out. It was as if they were hiding something from her. But what? It shouldn’t matter. Sometimes, it was hard to have no one to confide in. So when she found out she was going to Hogwarts, Yuki swore she would make real friends—friends she could rely on. She had already found some, but she had the feeling Sebastian was a bit like her. What made her feel comfortable around him was their shared passion for plants and flowers—and something else she couldn’t quite define. Yuki nodded with a smile at what seemed to be a farewell. It was true; she hadn’t noticed the time passing, and she had to return a book to the library. — “Yes, of course. Now you’ll know when I come by,” she replied in the same tone. “Hopefully, you won’t be in the middle of another flower rescue mission,” she joked, glancing at the now sadly abandoned flower in the corner. She hoped they would cross paths again soon. •──────────•
