1,639.200|playing a recent scene after running away from both parents warning over the head cursing, arguing, and loud yelling
𝓑rookline felt the uneasy chill of the ground against her beige pantleg, the sharp nippy air bit her cheeks as her chest heaved against the cool rock. Sobs escaped her as she chastised herself with cruel words. The pure-blood girl cried as blow after blow reminded her what happened. She felt like the world was ending and there was nothing to do about it. To her it felt like the dinosaurs came back and started destroying everything in sight. Ripping apart her mind, her heart and her soul. Chomping through her mental barrier and her tears and her curses.

More than ever since Christmas Eve, Brookline felt like a fortress and nobody came in.

Why leave me? I’m your daughter. Please..

Don’t leave me...
Her thoughts disappeared in the sharp breeze, as her curses seemed to voice around the empty clearing. Her sobs dripped down and made the light grey rock dark, her tangled hair sticky with lamentation.

Clutching the rock, Brookline’s sobs slowed, but her chest still gulped in deep breaths and her mind was fuzzy. She flipped over on her back, and stared directly at the winter’s cloudy sky. It was numb and cold, but the Ravenclaw wouldn’t and couldn’t feel the chill. There was only one person whom was the coldest of them all. Every fiber of her being merciless hated that one person yet every fiber wanted him to stay with her, and love her. Silent tears ran down her pink cheeks as her mind replayed the recent raw scene.

Brookline had just came downstairs when she heard familiar distant voices. She hadn’t been too well; neither had Lizy since the twenty-fourth, clearly both didn’t talk about it, resulting with both girls shut in their rooms. Her usually lush brunette hair hair was tangled, her typically bright eyes were a sad dull blue and normally her clear held a large smile, today it wore a dark scowl; but at least she was clean, freshly showered last night. And at least she changed clothes.

Brookline entered the kitchen and found her parents head to head squabbling. Her scowl deepened, and her hate for her father grew incredibly.

And I bet you were the one who started it, Father.

Marie and Minnie stood by the restroom door, their faces held similar anxious expressions. Enraged, Brookline stomped over to her sisters, making sure her parents had heard her elegant elephant pounding. When she set foot in the lavatory, she pivoted round, her arms crossed. Her mother had gazed uneasily at her daughter, tears glistened in her brilliant blue eyes as her ears still listening to her daft husband’s rambling.

“...and I still don’t understand. You’d think I want this? Of course I do. I love you endlessly. Though I can’t stand this house or our children or you not loving me. It hurts to see you not love me. I would much rather you listen understandingly like a loving supportive wife does... ” Chase’s voice dripped with menace as he frowned at his wife.

“Excuse me!? I have stood with with all your decisions, and EVERYTHING. I LOVE YOU, AND THE CHILDREN WE HAVE!! Do you want to just throw everything we used to have and still have away?” Amy started throwing around frantic gestures around, trying to prove her statement. Then she sighed, a sign she wanted to give up. “Chase... Please. What happened to you? You were loyal, kind, loving, brave, humble... and such a amazing Hufflepuff.... what happened? Please give me the real Chase, don’t let him leave me here...”

Chase took a step forward, his fave twitching. Brookline’s heart raced and lifted purely in joy that her dad was a-coming back! All she wanted was a normal father, not some distant one, one who would be her real dad. Her hatred swelled and swelled til it wasn’t hate. It was hope! Her mother did it! Finally, she would know what a real dad was supposed to be...!

“You will never get him back, Amy. He’s gone forever.” Chase scowled as if his old self was a horrible part of his past. Brookline shrunk, the hope and joy was instantly replaced by sadness. It was like sadness and hope had a gruesome battle on top of a cliff, then hope plummeted down the cliff and shattered rather mercilessly.

“And, Amy... I thought you had a common sense. Yes, I remember you were such a fool, a Ravenclaw at that. Imagine what the boys would say if I fooled a Ravenclaw!” He chuckled, his face crinkling. He swept his glance towards his children who stood fearful as if someone had just threatened them, “Oh.... and kids? I really did love your mother. And of course I never thought that way as a bloody Hufflepuff child. I was a awesome broom racer, and I used to race alongside your mother, and I had all eyes for her.

“She always did her spells perfectly, and her break races - oh! - she was so good. I loved her. What she says, though, is wrong. Well, yes, I used to be much more, -what’s the damn word?- confirmed. She would twist up her words an awful lot. Trust me; I am your dad.”

Brookline glanced at her mother, and she frowned. Amy wasn’t gonna do anything! Even after Chase insulted her!

“I’ve always been a supporting wife.”

“See what I mean, kids?” Brookline’s father flung his neck around to look at his daughters. “And, Amy. Betcha ya didn’t see this coming, but I’m going to go pack. Well, hot damn, didn’t I’d be this knackered at only eight in the mornin’!”

PACK? What do you mean, pack??? Dad, what is going on?

Amy seemed to read Brookline’s mind. “Chase... Pack? You’re gonna leave? Even before we filed t-the divorce?!” No... Y-you...” She turned away from her husband, her face falling.

Brookline had enough. She wasn’t see her mother being bullied and lied to by her own husband. Chase Senior was a terrible liar. How was her mother deceived so many times by this man?! She stepped up, and stopped the man she once called ‘daddy’.

“Tad, peidiwch â'n gadael ni. Sut byddwn ni'n gadael heboch chi? Paid a'm gadael...¹I’m begging you...” Her face seemed awfully pale, and her eyes seemed rather desperate. If he doesn’t see what a state I’m in, then I have no idea who's gonna snap him out of the mess he’s in, Brookline thought quite miserably.

“Brookline, whatever you say; I’m still packing. If you’re gonna cry about something then don’t tell me.”

Brookline’s eyes flew open. “What the hell,” She spat. She didn’t know how far this was going to be. “First you’re distant, and won’t have absolutely nothing to do with me AT ALL. Then when I come home from my first year at Hogwarts, and to you, I’m even here? Like who in the flip would do that? T-then only in flipping November, you sent me a letter that broke my heart. H-how cruel could you have been? I loved you and then you j-just throw it all away?” Her sobs interrupted her, and she glanced up at her father rather quizzical, as if daring him to answer.

She continued, her eyes dulling more each second, “The next horrible thing I find out is that you want to separated from your wife. On CHRISTMAS EVE! Don’t you know that when you want that from your own wife, you get separated from your children too?! Do you see the state of me? Do you see your younger children are scared of you?” Brooklime swung her gaze over to her trembling siblings, oh how much she wanted to cuddle them close. How she wanted whisper in their ears that everything would be all right. But nothing was all right. She wanted to slip away in tears and seep through a wooden floor.

I guess nothing is like those silly Muggle fairy tales. Those Muggles just like to write what they like to hear. I will never get a happily ever after. Because I am the monster, and I’m the one who made my father act the way he is now.

“Why do this? Oh and I suppose I should ask you these; am I the one that caused you to act like these? If I am, I never wanted it. I wanted a real father and I-I never got one.

“And finally, you tell me you want to leave your mansion, and your wife and children before signing that DAMN file?”

Brookline stopped, her angry words took the breath out of her. She glanced at the floor, and then looked up at her father. Everyone was quiet. It was like no one had even dared her to give a speech like that. She curled her lip and unexpectedly a tear fell.

Another fell, making Brookline gaze around in uncertainty.

Then the tears fell one by one.

Brookline glanced up at her father’s face, seeing nothing but chills. A shiver went up her spine, and now... she knew what to do.

Whipping around to face the kitchen door, Brookline grabbed hold of the handle, and yanked it open. Freezing thirty degree wind made her blood turn to ice as she bolted out the house full of tension and despair, her hair blowing all over in the wind.

“No! Brookline! Come back!!” She heard her mother’s desperate shriek but paid zero attention to it. She only had focus on where her bare feet were slapping the damp cold ground.

The Ravenclaw’s tears and snot got caught in her hair as ran and ran. She found a empty clearing near the wood, finding a light grey rock near the half-way frozen creek. She collapsed upon the rock, letting her sobs out.

Don’t leave me...

1,356.200|going back to her room and crying
𝓑rookline sniffed, and let out a ugly sob, as she was brought back to the present. She couldn’t believe her father was going to go pack. Pack. Could you believe it?

Dark blue eyes puffy as jellyfish and mouth turned upside down, Brookline cried even more. He’s such a shitty person, and a down-to-earth bitch. He never even took care of me. Why do I care so much? Her thoughts screeched at her, and she clamped hands on her ears, as she could feel the salty liquid running down her face. Brookline squeezed her arms across her body in a a vain attempt to calm her down. It didn’t work. It only got her even more stressed and more tears ran down.

The Ravenclaw girl sat up against the wet rock, right arm pressed against her body as if she had broken her arm.

You loved him, that’s why, A voice inside her twisted. Brookline wanted to punch that voice all the way to Germany. She wanted to punch her father, she wanted to punch herself. Half-heartedly, she hit her forehead with the heel of her palm.

Brookline stripped herself off the rock, and felt wet tears in her beige sweater. Of course it had to get ruined. She glanced around her, taking in the view around her, and sucking in the icy creek and wood scents. Using one bare foot at a time, Brookline took one step and another step.

She was ready. Almost ready. Brookline wasn’t completely ready to see her mother and father again but she had to be. She hoped her father was already gone by now, and the other part of her, and she deeply wished her Dad hadn’t left yet. Perhaps that would make all the hurt disappear.

Tracking hey way back to her home, Brookline felt the tears slip down her face. It wasn’t easy going back, but she had too. Twigs and rocks scraped her feet as she carried on, and didn’t stop before seeing her house.

She ran.

Faster than the wind, Brookline sprinted her way to the house, gulping gasps and stinging feet brought her back to life as she peeked into the door’s window. In the kitchen, she caught sight of her Mum holding tightly onto Lizy, their silent tears dripping down their chins and necks. The twins looked oddly blank, as they sat in chairs by the dinner table.

Brookline’s hand drifted out awkwardly before her palm found the door handle, jiggling the handle, she yanked open the door. Her presence was immediately recognised by her siblings and mother, and Lizy, plainly, stared dumbfounded at her, while Marie and Amy pounded the floor, making their way to Brookline.

“Brookline...! I - I thought I would never see you again,” Amy wrapped her into a bone-crushing hug, as Marie, silently brought her arms around Brookline’s middle. All was silent into Lizy spoke.

“Brookline, w - why did you run away?” Lizy choked on her tears, and Brookline turned to her, the best she could with two people squeezing her. Amy let go, reluctantly, while Marie released the Ravenclaw girl, but grabbed hold of her hand.

“Uh. Liz, I r - ran because I couldn’t take it. I couldn’t keep all this anger and emotion pent up inside me. I - I can’t do that,” Brookline started sobbing again, and wiped her nose with her free hand, slowly sinking to the floor, “I can’t! I yelled ay him... I yelled at him!”

“Nobody said you have to,” said Marie, softly. As she gripped Brookline’s hand, she went with her, and the little Welsh girl wrapped her gentle arms around Brookline’s shoulders, “We just want you be okay. That’s all we want. It’s okay to cry, Brookline, it’s okay to feel guilty... It’s okay.”

Bless little Marie. She was always composed, she most definitely inherited Amy’s calm vibes or something. And bless Minnie! Minnie had stumbled over to Brookline, whom was sobbing uncontrollable, and still on the floor. Minnie went behind Brookline, crouched down, and started rubbing her back in short comforting strokes.

You’re a monster. You little horrible creature. You frightening walking disaster, Voices shouted in her head, as she sobbed and sobbed. A numbing presence of her mother became noticeable as Amy squatted down, and placing her hand on Brookline’s shoulder. Lizy was the last, taking the Welsh girl’s hand and squeezing it, giving Brookline courage.

Soon Brookline felt numb. She couldn’t feel anything as she mentally floated in a dark and cold abyss. Hurtful voices still shouted their misgivings about her and judged her, unfair and cruel. She could feel the tears on her cheeks, more still running down, running down. She couldn’t feel anything. Why did she feel nothing? Brookline brought her arms around her chest, and squeezed. She didn’t know how she was going to be out of her mind.

Out of her mind.
𐀔 𐀔 𐀔

Brookline cracked open her eyes to find that she was still in the kitchen, and the twins still either squeezing her hand and the other was rubbing her back. She was crouched down. She could feel the puffiness of her cheeks. What was she doing here? What happened?

Wait. She could hear bickering. Bickering in the dining room. She turned over and saw Marie’s blue eyes widening by the second. Brookline shoved a finger to her lips, and tried to move her other hand. Marie had been holding on to it, and when she realized that Brookline wanted her hand back, she swiftly released it.

Brookline sat up, whipping around to Minnie, and yet again jamming her finger to her lips, telling her sister to be quiet. She could feel tears drip down her face as she got a clearer ear of what the bickering was about.

“Well, why don’t look want you did? You’re going to create a whole big dysfunctional family if you don’t stop.”

“Well, what happens if I can visit them? I can because I can, and I’m their father, Amelia. We both know that.”

Amy breathed in, sharply, a surge of anger, as she continued, “I told you, I don’t go by that name, anymore. I never did!”

“And why is that?” Chase Senior wasn’t going to back down, by asking a pointless question, just to rile Amy up.

“You know bloody why! You’ve known it since fifth year.”

“Oh yes, I remember now. Well, you know. I’m going to London....”

Whispering softly to her sisters, Brookline took their wrist, “We don’t know what’s going to happen. I want to you, Minnie and Marie, to go your rooms. Make sure to tell Lizy and the kiddos.” Minnie shot back, as quiet as ever, “But what about you, Brooke?”

Brookline sighed; she knew this would happen. She opened her mouth just as Marie started her whisper, “Are you okay?”

“Yes, I will be. But I want you to go to your room. We don’t know what will happen; Mum and Dad are both fully-trained in their studies, they could lash out, and pull out their wand, and boom! One of their spells could hit you. And you know poor Mum would kill herself if she ever used magic on any of us.”

“Okay. But you gotta promise to us that you’ll go to bed, and stay there, til you feel better?” Minnie whispered, brawn as always but her concern was highly genuine.

“Promise.” She held out her pinkie as well. But Brookline knew it was a secret she probably wasn’t able to keep. She hugged the twins, and they also stood up, making themselves known as they strolled through the dining room.

“We - we’re going to our rooms. See you soon?” Brookline looked pointed at Chase Senior but she and the twins walked to the stairs before either adult could open their mouth and say a thing.

This’ll be a real bloody hell of a problem, Brookline thought as she shut her door slowly. Tears would run down her face as she slid down into a sitting position, her back against the door.

I’m sorry, Minnie. I can’t keep your promise...
