Bitter then Better
Date : October 26th, 2024 Color code : Written|Thought|Said A pungent entered Sere's nose piercingly, pulling her back to consciousness. The Gryffindor girl coughed, her hands moved to rub her nose, tried to remove the remained traces of household cleaner's scent. Her eyes blinked to adjust to the light. Not long after, she realized two people staring at her, as if anticipating something. She could feel her body lying on something that felt like a hospital bed. Oh no, this is not a good sign.
Sere sat herself up in a flash move and dizziness immediately shocked her. "Ugh!" She gritted her teeth and held her temples. After the stinging sensation disappeared, still in the sitting position Sere said to the boy with smelling salt in his hand, "Thank you for your help... Umm..." Sere didn't know what to call the boy, but he looked like someone who was already used to healing things; seen from the smelling salt he brought. Sere concluded that the boy was one of the healer interns. "Sorry to bother you."
Then Sere turned to Emily. How could she fainted in the middle of their conversation? It shouldn't be her who's lying patheticly on the bed. She should've came for Emily and made her feel better, but why did everything turn out like this? The girl covered her face, "Oh, gosh. This is the most embarrassing thing that ever happened in my life." Sere fanned her hot face. Where was that legendary time-turner located? She would absolutely steal it and use it to rewind the time, deleting everything happened just now.
"To be honest, I felt super limp earlier. Umm.. still feel it now, but a little bit better." She played with her fingers, "I just want to visit you because I am worried about you. I don't know that I will ruin it. I hope there's a better time to get to know you rather than this moment." Sere sighed in dissapointment, everything had already happened now. Nothing could be changed.

Giving some space to @Sere Nade and @Emily Shephard to work out whatever, but still there if they need/want him
"Simon. Simon Kincaid," he said and then stepped a few steps away from the beds. The girls seemed to need to discuss something and he would give them the privacy to do so, assured now that they both seemed more or less okay. There were other things he could be busying himself with there in the Hospital Wing and his first task was to get them both a cold drink of water.
He left for a few minutes and returned with two glasses, placing one down on each of their small bedside tables.
"I hope you both are feeling alright now," he said as he stood at the edge between both of their beds. "Should you need anything, I'll just be right through that doorway, restocking some supplies," and he pointed into that direction.
He would be able to hear them if they should want to call out to him for any reason at all, but he didn't want to interfere with whatever had maybe gone on between them. Still, it was in his nature, not just as a Hufflepuff but because of who he was, to still be there should they need any assistance at all. He was just glad that both girls seemed to be alright. He presented a smile and then went to go about his task.
Be kind to one another. (*iNPC is Miles Thatcher)

The biggest smile of relief formed on Emily's face when Sere came to. Not that she doubted him in the slightest from the beginning, but she could always trust Simon Kincaid, Top Notch Healer, to get someone out of a jam. After watching her face scrunch up from waking up, Sere's eyes finally opened. Emily could've flung her arms around her and hugged her tightly right then and there.
"Sere! You're alright...!"
Simon disappeared briefly before returning with two glasses of water, offering one each to both girls. Taking it kindly, Emily already downed half of it. Nothing like a bit of comfort water to take the edge off after a worrying situation.
"Thank you, Simon," Emily said, bowing her head slightly. "You truly are a master of the craft of healing...!"
She let him return to his duties, with Simon leaving the two girls to rest in their shared bed. Emily was still beaming at the fact that Sere was A-Ok again. She quickly brushed away all sense of fault that Sere was projecting. "You've done nothing wrong, Sere. Accidents happen! I guess the duel wore us down a lot more than we both realised. But let's just chill here and rest up some. I think after taking a time-out, we'll both be ready to get back on our feet!"
Emily shimmied a little in her spot on the bed. "There's still time to talk before we have another snooze, if you'd like?"

Date : October 26th, 2024 Color code : Written|Thought|Said Simon Kincaid. Noted. Just like Emily, Sere would remember that name as well. "Thank you again for your help. She's right, you're definitely a master in this thing." Her voice sounded a little bit off right as she praised the healer. The girl reached for a glass of water beside the bed and drank it. Her throat felt better, and her body regained some level of freshness because of the liquid. She nodded slightly as Simon excused himself to return to his duties.
Sere tried to move her toes. From that simplest move she knew that she still felt limp. "Agree. I also need to rest myself a little longer." Sere silently praised Emily. How could the Hufflepuff say everything with such a positive tone and warm impression, especially after Sere had taken the victory from her hand and -moreover- troubled her with all the drama that had just happened. "Emily," the Gryffindor hung her words up in the air for a moment, "Would you like to accompany me to a practice duel? You can take it as a form of rematch."
Yup, this girl was terrible at expressing her feelings. While she did need to train herself in some unofficial duels, all she really wanted by saying that just now was to get to know Emily and interact with her more than just a single meeting, especially one that she considered as 'terrible' like this. "I'd be very grateful if you would," Sere pulled the blanket closer to her lips, "But I won't be mad if you say no. I understand."
Sere twisted the tip of the blanket with her fingers, waiting for an answer before taking a nap and recharging her stamina.Interacting with : @Emily Shephard. Not my best reply but it needed done!
With Simon off to where duty called him, the girls were left alone, both feeling a little more in tip top shape than before. Sere was awake and kicking thanks to Simon's on-the-ball thinking and Emily finally felt she could relax again knowing that Sere was taken care of thanks to good hands. Now that the worst seemed to have passed, Emily melted back into the bedsheets with newfound relief.
"Phew... Never scare me like that again, Sere," Emily laughed nervously. "You and the other lions already blasted me into next week. The last thing I need on top of that is a dang heart attack...!"
Though it seemed duelling was forever on Sere's mind, for she suddenly challenged Emily with the proposition of a practice duel. Already?! Well-- Maybe not quite then and there. Both of them needed a well deserved kip after today's match. But another match in the future? Emily could definitely float with that.
"I accept your practice duel," she said, affirming with a nod. "But just on one teeny tiny condition..."
Emily grinned as she turned to face Sere properly, resting on her side in the most comfortable way her tired body could allow her. "I know it's part of the sport and all, but can you make your Flipendos less Flipendo-y? I nearly thought I was going to burst right through the wall every time you targeted me...!"
And if Emily were being honest, they hurt like hell. And she was not ready to subject herself to all that again for a practice duel.

Date : October 26th, 2024 Color code : Written|Thought|Said Everything she could say was sorry, and then another sorry. None of this had gone according to her expectation. The first win felt good, but not entirely good in every way. It supposed to get better next time, all these mixed feelings, right? "I won't, and I'm sorry for that almost heart attack. I didn't even know I had that kind of ability---attacking someone's heart. I guess it's a passive skill." Thanks to Emily, passing out earlier felt less embarrassing.
Emily accepted her practice offer, clearly having no idea how grateful Sere truly was. She had to stop herself from kicking the blanket in excitement. "I'll owl you later about this. After we've both recovered, of course." She giggled when Emily stated her teeny tiny condition, "This is the first time I've heard someone say they felt like they were going to burst because of my Flipendo." Her giggle faded and her serious side was back. "I only target someone I think can match me, or even stronger, with a better performance than mine. That is one thing you have to know." She hoped Emily understood the meaning behind those words.
With sleepy eyes, she turned to Emily and said in a soft voice, "Thank you, Emily." For everything; for not hating her too much after the duel, for helping her when she passed out, for accepting her duel offer, for being kind... for being a potential great friend. Sere promised herself that their upcoming duel would be a fun practice rather than a serious, intimidating one. At least, she hoped so.ReducioThank you for the RP! Emily laughed and waved a polite dismissive hand at Sere. "Honestly, no harm done. I'm just glad you're feeling better, that's all. A duelling champion shouldn't be celebrating her victory passed out on the floor after all!"
Emily continued to sink further back into the bed, relishing on the feel of it massaging her back. Any more and she was sure to be swallowed by the mattress... Though she hardly saw anything to protest about that. At the very least, she would take that fate much more enthusiastically than being thrown down onto the piste over and over again while her poor back suffered the repercussions.
Emily nodded to Sere's terms. "After we've recovered," she echoed back to her. "And a very bold assumption that I was a 'match' for you, my fiery friend! Given that I'm only a beginner to the sport!" Though despite her soft teasing, that was very surprising for Emily to hear. Sere was essentially calling Emily her equal in a way. Something about that sparked a line of pride within the Huffie... Even if it did feel a little jokey when put in the context of Sere pommelling Emily with spells over and over again until knockout.
Emily could see Sere was looking a little tired in the eyes. She couldn't blame her after everything they'd been through. If Emily were being honest, she was still feeling a bit knackered as well. She curled up underneath her blankets after Sere did.
"Thank you for an energetic first duel, my friend," she said.
