history.
Born in a rather stormy spring evening on May 6th, son of witch Blair Armitage and wizard, Mihyung Lee in Durham, England, Virgil grew up being showered in love and affection by his big and very loving wizarding relatives. Although his parents are divorced, there's no animosity between them and they're like any other family. Both the Lee and the Armitage get along fairly well which leads to him always being protected and having people looking after him.
Virgil loves spending time with his family — that's why he asked his mother not to sell their house in Durham, where they spent the summer vacations and always travel back to when there are important family reunions.
Virgil's what most purebloods consider a late bloomer, as he did not show any signs of having magic in his blood until after his six birthday. His mother and he had traveled back to England after adjusting to their new home in Portimão, Portugal, to celebrate his birthday party with the rest of the family. The day was going great — when the Armitage party, they party hard!
So, escaping from the loud music and laughing adults, Virgil and his cousins, Sarah and Trent, went to play around the lake close to his aunt's house. It was a rather cold and windy evening, and he watched as they played, running around until Sarah pushed Trent into the lake. Worried that he'd fall sick, Virge tried to warm him, only to accidentally set him on fire.
From that day on, he'd listen to various stories from his relatives about Hogwarts.
One hour after he had blown out his birthday candles when his Hogwarts letter arrived. Virgil couldn't believe his eyes, as he had listened to so many great (some falling heavily in the unbelievable side of the spectrum) tales about his relatives' years in Hogwarts and now he was going too! He ran to his bedroom and wrote his dad a letter. Blair was so excited, she told all her co-workers and even their neighbors.

Acquaintances. They meet during the events of 'Change' and quietly exchange some knowledge about the book each of them is reading. As Noah's a second year, Virgil's a bit intimidated by him, but also wants to get to know him better.

Friends. After being invited to join a study group in 'Study Buddies', Virgil meets the first-year Isaac. They both talk and study together, and Virge likes to think he's made a good impression on the other and they hopefully talk again.

Acquaintances. They both awkwardly meet in 'Un ami', when Chezem finds Virgil reading a french children's book on his own, trying to work on his pronunciation. First impression? Virgil finds him adorable!Hufflepuff.

Friends. In 'Clock Wise', Virgil bumps into his Potion partner, who reveals to be a talkative girl named Adlai. They walk together to their next class and she invites him to join a study group. They get along fairly well and Virgil feels really comfortable around her. He thinks of her as really sweet.

Acquaintances. In 'Sweet and Sour', Virgil, in the worst mood possible, falls to the floor and is helped by the sweet and charming, Robin. And they awkwardly interact, and her cute smile makes him extra embarrassed.Gryffindor.

Uh, well, hello! Name's Virgil. Feel free to call me Virge, if you'd like, I guess. I don't know what to say, really. I'm not exactly the most interesting person... I'm eleven. Dark hair. Dark eyes. Unfortunately short. Uh. What else?
I come from a wizard family, so there's no wonder, like, wow! A unicorn! Or, wow! I'm making things float. Yeah. No. I've been making things float since I was seven. Mum's a Healer. Dad's a Dragonologist. So, that's cool, right?
I spent most of my life living with my mum in Portugal, where everything is cold, especially the people (and the food), but I'm used to England. Most of my family lives here and we're very close, so I'm never feeling like a fish out of water. Dad works a lot, though. His dragons require a lot of attention and the way he talks about them on the letter he writes makes it seem like I'm not an only child. So, there's that.
I'm very interested in books. My cousin Trent calls me The Walking Library because of that. He probably thinks he's insulting me, but I find it rather nice. Muggle novels are my favorite. Their creativity when it comes to magic is out of this world. Did you know that some of them think vampires sparkle under the sunlight? Isn't that funny? I particularly adore fantasy for that reason. And horror, though I'm scared of most things I read. Oh! Did you know there's a really popular horror novel of a shape-shifting clown? Muggles sure are creative, right?
Honestly, I could talk about Muggle literature for hours and never get bored. I need to see if the library has some interesting books because I only brought two romances and I've read both on my way here already.
I thought that coming to Hogwarts, after listening to fantastic stories from all my relatives, homesick wouldn't be a feeling I'd ever experience. Apparently, I was wrong. When talking about this place, never once have my mum mentioned how hard making friends actually is. I promised Trent I'd try to at least start conversations and make myself known ("you don't want to be a blurry face" - Trent, 2019), but it's difficult when you're scared of messing things up and having people laugh at your mistakes.

Gnome bite.
He was seven and very naive. It was around five, on a very hot summer evening. Virgil and his older cousins, Trent and Amanda, were playing around in his aunt's garden when, from the corner of his eyes, Virgil saw a little creature making its way towards the bushes. He told Trent, who only shrugged and said "It's probably a gnome. Why don't you go be his friend? He must be very lonely!" Of course, little Virgil, wanting the poor and lonely gnome to feel happy followed the magical creature. But, when he got close enough, the little thing turned around and bit his hand. He started bleeding and crying and to this day, he has a tiny scar in the palm of his left hand.Speaks four (actually three) languages.
He's fluent in both English and Portuguese, but his father teaches him Korean every once in a while. And he's trying to learn French on his own because he thinks it's a beautiful language. (He's failing miserably, of course, but he never stops trying).Cats.
After he turned ten, his uncle Jay gave him an old stray cat as a birthday gift, since he'd never stop talking about how cats are soft and cute. But, it turned out to be a terrible idea as Virgil's face started to turn red and he couldn't breathe the moment he hugged his cat. The cat's now in France and belongs to aunt Naomi. Maybe it's because his mother is a terrible cook and he's not fond of Portuguese food, but his father's cooking is... It's just- wow! Out of this world. Particularly, his favorite is his father's pumpkin pie.Glasses-war.
Virgil has terrible eye-sight, but he never wears his glasses. Never. Uh-hu. Not going to happen. Ever. You can't force me, mom!Notes.
Not only is his handwriting terrible, but his notes are also all over the place. Whenever he doesn't understand something, he tries to explain it in his own way, so most of his notes are a mix of Portuguese, English, and Korean. He tries his best with his homework.

Song.Movie.V: Oh, hm, my favorite song...? This is rather easy: I don't have one. I can't choose as it depends a lot on my mood. Hm... Well, I'm picking the three songs I always find myself singing whenever I'm bored.
1) Anxious by The Hobgoblins. Mum's favorite wizarding band. I grew up listening to them, she plays their last album on repeat when she cooks, and though most of their songs aren't really my cup of tea, I do love this one. It's very touching and by the title, you can see I relate to it...
2) Amortentia by The Weird Sister. Now, ok, Dad's gonna be very offended, but I really dislike The Weird Sisters. I tried listening to their music, but, no! This one is just so catchy, though, it's impossible not to sing and dance to it!
3) Fallingforyou by The 1975. Muggle band. Trent's favorite. I haven't listened to most of their songs, but Trent is always singing Fallingforyou so it kinda stuck to me. It's soft and very calming compared to the other two.Book.V: Ok, so, the thing is: I don't really watch that many movies. I'm just not that interested. The last one I watched was uh... I don't remember the name, but it's about a spider-like crime-fighter going on a field trip. Far... Far from home? I have no clue. Uncle Jay and Trent forced me to go, and I didn't understand much because apparently it's connected to other superhero movies and I don't have the time...V: Ah, no. This one's supposed to be easy, but it isn't! I read a lot of books, a lot, and I just can't pick one, it's impossible! Hm... Ok, right now I'm reading The Picture of Dorian Gray by muggle writer Oscar Wilde and it's fascinating, so that's my choice.

first year | 11.
At the age of eleven, he's very short (Virge's around 4'8" — 1,44 centimeters) and skinny and could easily pretend to be a seven-year-old. Like his mother, his face's rather delicate, with a small nose and small pink lips. His hair is black, constantly changing between an easy-to-brush straight and a wavy and messy; his eyes are dark brown, they stand out due to his pale skin.
second year | 12.
As he gets older, he hopes to grow taller and look a little less... Soft, but nothing really changes in one year. Unfortunately, he's still short and frail — like he's always about to fall sick, and his baby face is as strong as ever. The only difference is the hair: it grew a little during summer break and it looks wavier.
third year | 13.
After a lot of convincing, his mother lets him dye his hair. He goes for a honey blonde that turns him into a porcelain doll, which he absolutely hates as he craves a tougher look. Virgil's starting to look pathetic next to all the girls as they're all taller than him, by now. (He's at least 1,50 centimeters now!)
fourth year | 14.
Looking to pretend the blonde-Virge phase never happened, he dyes his hair again. This time, however, a light brown that goes well with the mess that his hair has become. Just as he was a later bloomer when it came to his magic, Virgil finally grew up — he feels like a giant now that he's 1,56.
fifth year | 15.
He lost a bet to his cousin Sarah and so red-haired Virgil became a thing. Even though the bright red makes him super anxious about how other people will react to it, deep down he really likes it, especially with his aditional 4 centimeters — now he doesn't have to stand on tiptoes for most of the time!
sixth year | 16.
Giving the crazy colors a break, the surprising platinum blonde gives him a rather mature look. Virge's a bit tanned now, and, for once, he doesn't look like he might break if somebody punched him. He's taller and looks healthier — for the first time ever, he can say that he's good-looking.
seventh year & onward | 17-
There are a lot of things going inside his head when he goes back to being Tomato-Virgil (but this time red streaks that go perfectly with his natural dark hair and the new mullet). His mother says he's looking like a delinquent — but hey, that's what he's going for! Not to mention, he's 1,74 now. Unbelievable, right?
