New Beginnings
Interacting with: Jade Taylor
Lemon leant back on the fresh grass and watched the movement of the water. It was a warm day in September, on the weekend after their first week at Hogwarts. It was quiet here, something Lemon had learnt to appreciate in life. Sometimes it was nice to be able to isolate sounds and listen to their individual qualities, as if listening to a solo being played in an orchestra. The birds chirping a melody that would be played on the flute, grass swaying like muffled strings on a violin.
They smiled as they lay their head on the blanket they'd brought with them. Lemon had always seen things differently than others did, and to them, that's what made life interesting, worth living. Normal is for those whose imaginations don't soar, it keeps others grounded. But life on the ground gets boring, and Lemon would much rather let their mind fly up above the trees and play among the stars.
Just as they were thinking of all of this, they heard footsteps. Turning around to see who was there, they saw another student, a first year, walking down towards them. The student had long, black hair and eyes of emerald. Despite it being the weekend, and all the students in Hogwarts being allowed to wear whatever they pleased outside of school times, the girl was dressed all in black, no sight of any colour on her body.

New Beginnings
Jade hated weekends, they were long and boring, her friends preferred to stay locked in the common room, rather than going out. So Jade decided to go out alone, as she used to do. Dressed in black she headed towards the lake, the water always relaxed her a lot. She thought back to her arrival at Hogwarts, she who was often alone, who did not like being surrounded by a lot of people, found herself at Hogwarts, where there are so many students that we can no longer count them. She hadn't made many friends, the only ones who accepted her told her they just felt sorry for her. Jade, still proud, said nothing but she felt her heart break. Jade arrived at the edge of the lake, she saw a silhouette in the distance, it was a young girl, she didn't know her, but if she had come here it was probably to relax so Jade decided not to disturb her out of respect.
Jade was sitting near the edge, close to the girl but far enough away that she could spy on her discreetly, she had long brown hair with big eyes. She looked out at the lake, the reflection of the lake reflected in her eyes. Jade then wondered why she was alone. Jade suddenly realized that since her arrival at Hogwarts she had changed a lot, she was no longer aggressive and cunning, now she was shy, she accepted muggle-borns as they were and no longer had such a small circle of friends as before. She preferred herself that way, gentle and kind rather than mean and mocking.

New Beginnings
Their first week at Hogwarts went by faster than Lemon had thought possible. The first night that they arrived at Hogwarts was incredible: first, being sorted into Hufflepuff which, admittedly, had caused them some confusion, but after settling into their dorm and sending an owl to their mum telling her all about it, they were feeling a bit better about all of it.
The dorms were definitely a highlight of the week. Being genderfluid, Lemon was living in the gender-neutral dorms. They'd chosen the Colourful Quarters dorm, for reasons obvious to anyone who even glanced in their direction. Everything was new, but Lemon liked new. They didn't like things to always be the same, perhaps explaining their inability to follow any sort of calendar or planner without ripping it up in frustration. Spontaneity was their way of life, and Lemon liked it that way.
Lemon watched as the mysterious girl went and sat down near the edge of the lake. She observed her for a second before deciding to call out to her. A smile on their face, they said "hi! Do you want to join me? I've got some pumpkin juice and snacks if you'd like some!"
