date. [ 18:00, 02/19/25 ]———event. [Valentines Day Party ]——————------------------------

To celebrate the romantic holiday, Sebastian Drake had planned— and miraculously executed— a party for his peers. The whole point of it was basically to play spin the bottle, a kissing game. How did he even come up with it? Well, he was bored, and wanted a reason to kiss strangers. Nothing wrong with that, right? It would be interesting to see who would be attending. Hopefully some cuties.

Finding an appropriate location for Sebastians Valentines party was more difficult than you’d expect. He could definitely not host it inside the Gryffindor common room, since he’d invited people— in other words, just told anyone in passing to come: ”There will be kissing!”, and had no idea who would actually show up— from all different houses, nor was he able to find a classroom where they weren’t at risk to get caught. After some research, eventually he settled for the rehearsal room, which was mostly left abandoned on the fourth floor. In the evening, he didn’t think anyone else would be trying to use it. It would have to suffice despite being a bit too big for the intimate affair.

After picking out a relaxed outfit— a white sweater and a pair of beige slacks— Sebastian arrived early to decorate the grand room to look a bit more… cozy; Adjusting the light to be a warmer pinky tone and more dim, the room didn’t look quite as large then, as well as arranging red and pink pillows and blankets around the floor for the game of spin the bottle. Other than that, there was also a table of snacks and drinks for anyone who wanted. A bowl of breath fresheners were also provided, in case anyone felt like they needed it to be comfortable in the game. It was a lot of work to do by hand, since he hadn’t learned that much magic yet to do it with his wand. It would be so much fun though! Sebastian was sure of it.

He glanced at the clock, excitedly waiting for his guests to arrive. ”Oh, the music,” he said to himself, putting on a playlist that really set the mood. Any minute now…

💋You'll just have to taste me, when he's kissing you!💋

As the door creaked open, I stepped into the room, taking in the warm, pink glow that bathed everything in a soft, inviting light. The room had a cozy, almost intimate feel, with pillows and blankets scattered around the floor, setting the perfect tone for what was about to unfold. The music playing in the background was light and playful, adding just the right touch of fun to the atmosphere.

"Sebastian!" I called out, my voice carrying easily across the room. "You really went all out, huh?"

He looked up, offering a soft, almost sheepish smile, clearly pleased with how everything was coming together. I took a slow look around the space again, nodding in approval.

"I have to admit," I said, making my way over to him, "this is way more impressive than I thought it’d be. I mean, for a kissing game, you’ve really set the mood." I gave him a playful glance. "You've definitely made it feel...special. I’m actually kind of impressed."

I paused for a moment, taking in the setup one last time, the low lighting, the carefully arranged blankets, and the snack table thoughtfully laid out nearby. It was the perfect setup for what promised to be a night of fun and a little unpredictability.

"Looks like it’s going to be a very interesting night," I added with a smirk, looking back at him. "You’ve really outdone yourself, Sebastian. This is going to be something to remember."

Linnéa couldn't remember what had possessed her to agree to join this kissing party. She kind of regretted it now, a lump of nerves aching in her stomach as she thought about what would happen that night. The prim Hufflepuff hadn't kissed anyone- and now she was going to be kissing strangers! Merlin, what was she getting herself into?

Recalling a few days prior; Quentin Harrington, a friend of hers after meeting at the Hogwarts Express under rather unfortunate events, had been playing wizards chess together- coming from a muggle family, the boy didn't know what it was until she'd showed it to him- when Sebastian had walked by, throwing an invite to his party at them during their game. Thinking back at it, she'd been gobsmacked. Not only because the idea just felt very grown up, but because the Gryffindor boy was ridiculously attractive. It almost felt in that moment like she couldn't say no. Which was silly, right? No one could just make you do things. But then again, something about his presence was magnetic, his smile almost hypnotic. Was it just her, or did the entire room hush a little when he walked by?

Anyway, she'd blurted out a yes on the spot, only convincing Quentin to come along after the fact. That was a good thing about this. Quentin. He felt safe. And he was cute. She wouldn't mind kissing him, she thought, only to then blush furiously at the mere thought. Hurriedly, she tossed on one of her prettier outfits that she'd brought along for the school year: A white ribbed sweater and a pink gingham skirt. I felt fitting of the occasion as long as they stayed inside the castle.

The two friends had agreed to meet at the party, since it was a really fucking long way from the Hufflepuff common room to the Ravenclaw tower. When she arrived and saw that there only was Sebastian and some other Gryffindor girl there, she wished she'd walked all those stairs, only to not have to enter alone. Linnéa slunk inside, feeling a bit awkward listening to the two gryffindors- in her mind- flirting shamelessly. The girl was also pretty and clearly confident. Duh. You kind of had to be too agree to this. Linnéa just hoped she would fit in.

When they eventually noticed her, she smiled and moved a bit closer. "Hi." Linnéa turned to the girl since she hadn't met her before. "I'm Linnéa, what's your name?" They both seemed nice, but she was still on the verge of shaking out of nervousness, but trying to not sound so shaky when she asked: "So... do we know how many will join us?"

Merlin, where was Quentin when she needed him?

Tori didn't know why she did this. She didn't know how she agreed to participate in a kissing game on Valentine's Day, I guess she just wanted fun. It didn't seem right to do this with strangers. She had never spoken or interacted with the boy who invited her before. Anyway, things always happened because of sudden decisions.

She turned her red hair into wavy blonde. and put on a comfortable sweater, put on her bag that she always carries with her, looked in the mirror in the common room and left.

As she left the Ravenclaw common room and went to the Rehearsal Hallon the fourth floor, she thought about taking her mouse and her companion Vick, but the idea of taking her to such a place seemed very strange.

When she went to the rehearsal hall, she saw that apart from the boy who invited Tori, there were also two different girls. This looked like it was going to be a very interesting night. She went to the people.

"Hello, my name is Victoria. Victoria Lena Jones, of course, you can call her Tori or Vic for short or something else. It's up to you. Nice to meet you. Something tells me it's going to be a very fun night."

It was ridiculous—this whole thing. A Valentine’s Day party centered around a kissing game? Honestly. She would’ve rolled her eyes if she had the energy.

Syrah stood just outside the rehearsal room. She could hear muffled voices through the door, laughter mixed with the low hum of romantic music.

A few days earlier, she had sent a letter to her older brother, Nicholai, mentioning in passing the odd invitation she had received from a boy she didn’t know. She hadn’t cared much about the invitation itself—it wasn’t like she had anything better to do that night. But Nicholai had latched onto the mention of it like a lifeline, his reply quick and to the point: "I dare you to go, don't be a coward, and tell me what happens. In exchange, I’ll send you that journal you’ve been wanting."

The journal. It wasn’t just any journal. It was the journal of a friend that Nicholai knew. Bound in dark leather with silver runes along the edges. The man had mysteriously disappeared, but the journal, a diary of some sort remained , hidden away until Nicholai got his hands on it. His family wanted to throw it away with his belongings but Syrah learned it was written in old symbols that she wanted to decipher. He’d promised to send it to her if she went to the party, participated in the game, and sent him a detailed report of what happened. The catch? She had to play. And she can't lie to him because he'd know, he always knew when she was lying and she wasn't very good at it either.

Syrah stepped into the room, and the immediate wave of tacky pink decorations and the sickly sweet smell of cheap perfume made her stomach churn. Of course, this was a mistake, she thought with a mental sigh. Her eyes quickly scanned the group, but she didn’t even bother to fake interest. Three girls, all acting like they were in a rom-com, and the boy who invited her—Sebastian, apparently—grinning like he’d just discovered fire. She almost turned around to leave right then, but the thought of the magical journal kept her rooted in place.

A journal. Really?
The lengths she’d go for that old raggedy thing.

Her long blonde hair fell loosely around her shoulders, the natural wave catching the dim light as she entered. Her green sweater clung just enough to be comfortable, paired with a simple black dress that ended just above her knees. She wore boots that were slightly worn, the edges of the soles creasing with each step, and she carried the faint scent of incense.

Why did I say yes to this? . She didn't know Sebastian from a hole in the ground, nor did she know any of those girls. But a deal was a deal, she had to do this.

With one last glance at the room—too sweet, too much—she approached the group.

“I’m Syrah,” she said, her tone flat and entirely unamused as she gave a slight nod to the people in the room. “Is this where the party is supposed to start?”

She didn’t care for introductions or small talk. She wasn’t here to make friends. She wasnt even here because she wanted to be. She was here because Nicholai promised her the cursed journal she had wanted for so long—if she played along. And if playing along meant enduring whatever ridiculousness this event had in store, then so be it.

God. Why had she ever even agreed to participate in some ridiculous kissing game? As soon as Lyanna asked herself that, an answer immediately popped into her head. Sebastian Drake. That stupidly charming boy she just couldn't resist had invited her with that ever so alluring smile of his when they were still in France. She couldn't say no. And still, despite being skeptical, somewhere in the back of her head she hoped he would kiss her. Oh, shut up, Lyanna thought to herself, as she got dressed to go meet the others, he's just a cute boy I met once. Nothing more. And still, she did her hair in a perfect bun and put the same clothes she was wearing when they first met, the clothes he said were cute... Get yourself together, she told herself. Well, she would be late if she changed again to put on something casual, so she might as well go like that.

Walking through the corridors of the castle, Lyanna realized that she had never been to the Rehearsal Room before, the place that Sebastian had chosen to do the game. It was a smart choice though, she had to admit, but not the best. The Room of Requirement would've been better, but she assumed that he probably didn't know it even existed. After all, it wasn't the easiest place to find. Finally having reached the fourth floor, after as many as five staircases, Lyanna walked down the corridor and already heard romantic music coming from the Rehearsal Room before even getting close to the door.

Lyanna followed the sound of the music Sebastian had undoubtedly put on to set the mood, and found the room where the game would take place. Not just any game; spin the bottle. Now that she was actually standing in front of the wooden door, Lyanna was seriously considering just going back to her dorm. But a promise was a promise, so now she had to come. And if she was going to do it, she was going to do it right.

Opening the door, Lyanna stepped inside without anymore hesitation. "Hey, the name's Lyanna. Or Lya, to those to call themselves more than just acquaintances, so I guess you guys certainly count" she added with a wink. "Well, I have to say I'm pretty impressed Seb," she commented with approval, looking at the decor. "You certainly set the mood, and even I, who had no idea where on the fourth floor the Rehearsal Room was, found it easily because of the music." Grabbing a snack, she looked around to see who else was there. A pretty girl seamlessly flirting with Sebastian, another girl who looked like she was trying not to show that she actually didn't want to be there, a girl who probably agreed to come too quickly and was kind of regretting it, and--"Oh hi Tori! Didn't expect to see you here, last time we met must've been, what, mid-November? You were a real life saver, helping me with potions that time," Lyanna said truthfully to her friend. Tori was a sweet girl, who had really helped her out during her potion incident.

"Well, it certainly looks like this is going to be an interesting night," she couldn't help adding.

💋You'll just have to taste me, when he's kissing you!💋

"Wow, I’ve got to hand it to you," I continued, shaking my head in mock disbelief. "This is peak selfish playboy behavior, Sebastian. Only inviting girls and leaving yourself as the *lucky* guy in the center of it all. How many of us are you planning to impress tonight, huh?"

I gave him a teasing wink, crossing my arms. "I bet you’ve been dreaming of this moment, haven’t you? A room full of girls, all for you, with you as the only guy. Talk about living the dream."

I couldn’t help but laugh at his "You really think I only invited girls" look, shaking my head again. "You're really something else. I almost feel sorry for the rest of us—seems like you’ve got the perfect setup to play the part of the charming playboy."

You’re practically begging for attention, aren’t you?" I raised an eyebrow, stepping closer to him with an exaggerated look of disbelief. "Honestly, Sebastian, are you just trying to play the role of the charming, mysterious guy tonight, or is this all just part of your plan to make everyone fall for you?"

I let out a soft laugh, shaking my head as I gestured around the room. "The setup is impressive, I’ll give you that, but it’s almost too perfect. I mean, who *wouldn’t* want to be the center of all this, right? The self-proclaimed playboy of the evening. You’re really milking this, huh?"

I leaned in slightly, giving him a teasing smile. "But don’t think I didn’t notice. You’re the only guy here—definitely the star of the show. How selfish of you, Sebastian." Oh boy, do I love teasing him!

Quentin stood, silently shifting in front of the full length mirror in his dormitory, fussing with his cabled jumper. It was the third one he’d tried on so far. Or was it the fourth? The others lay discarded, strewn across his bed. He glanced over his shoulder at the chuckle behind him, giving his roommate and friend, Jacob, a leveled look. “Well? Does this look alright?” Jacob rolled his eyes.
“Merlin, mate. All this for one girl? It’s pathetic, Q.”
Quentin rolled his eyes, before turning back to the mirror. Why had he even asked? He decided this jumper was fine, but now he was fussing with his hair. Not that he ever had much luck in taming it. It was always kind of wild, flowing over his head like a giant chestnut wave. Still, he fussed.
“Besides, there are gonna be LOTS of girls there. That’s the whole point. Forget about Linnéa. She’s probably never kissed a boy anyways. She’s probably terrible at it.”
Quentin turned to look at Jacob again, raising an eyebrow. “Jacob. You’ve *literally* never kissed a girl. *Ever.*” Jacob was usually a good friend, but he was weird about stuff like this sometimes. He tried to act like he was more experienced than he was or that all the girls were into him, when that definitely wasn’t the case. “Honestly, I’m starting to see why. You’re being kind of an ass. Lin is great. And she was the one who asked me to come. I think you’re just jealous that you didn’t get an invite.” Jacob was still scowling as Quentin turned and headed for the door.

A few minutes later, and a lot of stairs since he was coming from Ravenclaw Tower, Quentin finally made it to the ‘Rehearsal Room’. He’d never been here before, but Lin had already scouted it out and gave him directions. She was pretty good at making sure he knew what was happening. It was lucky for him that they’d met on the train into Scotland. When they were sorted into different houses, he’d been worried that would be the end of it, but luckily they’d managed to remain friends. Both her parents were magical, so she’d done a great job of keeping him apprised of everything that he might experience. As a muggleborn, he’d known absolutely nothing. And he was still learning so much every single day. Lin knew a little about muggle life, only because one of her best friends before school was a half-blood, but she did still have a bunch of questions, which Quentin was happy to answer. Still, it felt like their relationship was rather one-sided in that aspect. She’d been a life-saver for him so far.

She’d been introducing him to “Wizard’s Chess” when they’d been invited. Well… Quentin had a feeling that Sebastian had more so invited Linnéa than him. He’d really just been there and so in a general direction of an invite. He’d honestly been kind of surprised by the rapid and borderline aggressive way that Lin had immediately replied, “YES!” It had made him give Sebastian another glance. Sure, he was probably attractive. A lot of the girls seemed to think so, anyway. But he seemed kind of full of himself? Or, at the very least, he was very aware that he had eyes on him. Quentin didn’t really think that was the kind of guy that Linnéa would be into, but apparently he was wrong. It was part of the reason that he’d taken so long in front of the mirror. He’d always been pretty self assured before. He’d never had any issues making friends or talking to girls and any kisses tonight wouldn’t be his first. But still, there was something different about Sebastian. Something that kind of set him on edge a little bit. Hmmm… Maybe he was just being jealous. Pushing the thoughts from his mind, he popped a piece of gum into his mouth and pressed open the door, the soft music hitting his ears as he entered.

Quentin wasn’t sure if he should be surprised or not that so far it was only Sebastian and a bunch of girls. The thought crossed his mind that he might not have been invited after all, but he let it drift from his mind when he saw that Lin was already there, looking timid in comparison with some of the others. He immediately made his way over to her, grinning as she finally glanced at him. “Hey, Lin! You look nice!” She was looking cute in a sweater and pink skirt. Her cheeks were tinged with red, giving her a slightly flushed appearance. His eyes swept the room, taking in the others. Tori Jones, a fellow Ravenclaw, was there. He knew her mostly by proxy. They hadn’t interacted much since she was a year older and in different classes, but from what he’d picked up from others and in the common room, she seemed to be especially skilled and interested in herbology? She seemed nice, but she probably didn’t have any idea who he even was. The others, aside from Lin, he knew about as well as he knew Sebastian. Which was mostly from shared classes. Isabella, who was currently chatting up Sebastian, seemed to be pretty outgoing and confident, which was typical for a Gryffindor. She had an easy smile that she seemed to share without restraint. Lyanna was currently at the snack table that Sebastian must have set up, seemingly chatting with Tori. The first year Hufflepuff, at least from what he’d seen, was pretty engaged in everything she did. She seemed to possess boundless energy. Kind of like an adorable puppy. The final person in the room, was *not* the person that Quentin had been expecting to see. Syrah was… odd. She seemed aloof and disinterested in socialization in general. In one of their first classes together, the two of them had made eye contact and he’d made the mistake of smiling politely at her. Which was met with a blank, unblinking stare. Like she’d peered into his soul and assessed him in an instant. He’d felt a shiver run down his spine and quickly looked away. He’d tried to avoid eye contact with her ever since. Yeah. He’ really hadn’t expected to run into her at a *kissing* party.

Turning back to Lin, Quentin grinned again. He glanced down at her hands, which were empty. “Can I get you something to drink?” He gestured to the snacks table with a questioning glance.

date. [ 02/19/25 ]———event. [Valentines Day Party ]——————------------------------

The first one to arrive was Isabella from his year and house. He'd seen her around, but they hadn't interacted much. Judging by the way she immediately called out to him and approached, they must have looked closer than they were--- when in all actuality, Isabella was just very confident and social. Sebastian didn't mind though, he had no qualms about talking to people he barely knew. That was just the way he was raised, in America. And they would be doing more intimate things with strangers tonight.

"Yes, of course I did!" Sebastian answered Isabella with a cheeky smile. "Thanks to wild party animals like you, I'm sure it will be special," Sebastian smirked knowingly. Or at least he assumed she was? They hadn't partied before, because well... they were first years and didn't have access to many good party locations. Neither were they old enough to drink and party for real, like he'd seen his dads girlfriends. Crashing home totally wasted after a night out. That was a different league of partying, but not as fun as this, he was sure. "Let's just hope the others will want to have some fun too." There was no way he was letting his party end in a total lackluster fiasco. Neither with the interior or in terms of kissing. That would just reflect badly on him, his first party would not be his last.

"Oh, a new guest!" He burst out in cheerily when he saw the door open and a blonde girl entered, looking a bit awkward. He waved at her, which was probably a few minutes too late, but she did shuffle closer. At her question, he merely shrugged. Who knew? Honestly, he had no idea who would show up tonight. He'd invited everyone who'd stopped long enough to listen to him in the corridor.

More and more people started to drop in; Victoria whom he'd never met before--- it was difficult to tell what houses they were in without their usual robes, Syrah, who was kind of the epitome of bitter Slytherin, at least judging by her deadpan expression. "Yeah, you're at the right place. We're just waiting for the last people to drop in." It didn't seem to lighten her mood even a bit. Damn, she didn't even pretend to be excited. Well, he would change that, Sebastian decided determinedly. I mean, she would have to loosen up eventually. Otherwise they were in for an awkward night.

Another girl entered, and this one he actually new. Sebastian visibly lit up in recognition when he saw her: Lyanna Oak. They'd met at Beauxbatons the other week and had been assigned as penpals. It had ended in quite a romantic lunch. Unfortunately it had ended as just that, hence why he'd insisted she'd come to his party back at Hogwarts. Something felt... unfinished. Obviously, he wouldn't be in a sour mood--- couldn't be when you were going to be kissing either way--- but it would have been nice. She was very pretty. And she wore the same outfit that she'd done back there, which he'd told her that he liked. Naturally, he assumed she was dressed up because she knew he'd liked it.

"You made it!" Sebastian said, grinning at her in his signature charming smile. He considered hugging her, because they were more than just strangers, but she'd already turned to Victoria before he could make up his mind.

Looking around the room at everyone in attendance, everyone must be thinking the same thing: It was Sebastian and only girls. Believe it or not, it had not been his intention; Sebastian had invited guys! But they were all too shy to attend, clearly. It was a bit of a shame, but who would he be to complain to be the star of the show? Let's be honest, he would be regardless. Isabella pointed it out, went out on him and his 'selfish playboy behavior', though there seemed to be only teasing in her voice and no actual resentment. He wasn't a playboy, selfish perhaps... depending in what situation, but Sebastian couldn't even blame her for saying it, because that's what it looked like.

"I actually did invite guys, but they must be too shy to join us." He shrugged, thinking it was a bit of a shame really. Sebastian wouldn't have minded kissing guys, girls- hell, he'd kiss goblins! He'd kiss everyone! And as if to prove his point, one single guy actually walked into the room. Sebastian pointed at him. "See! I told you so!" Though he couldn't actually remember asking him personally... but clearly he had.

With all these people here, he thought it was a good time to actually welcome them. "Thanks for coming everyone... to share the love with me." He glanced around the room at the-- mostly--- girls, unable to help the bit of a smug smirk creeping up on his face at the sight. It sure did look like a personal party for him. Sure, it hadn't been what he thought it would be... but he definitely wasn't complainig. Actually, he looked really fucking smug now. And maybe a bit cheesy.

"Feel free to serve yourselves some refreshments," gesturing in the general direction of the snack table. "What do you say, should we just start then? If anyone else decided to come, they could just jump into the game." Moving towards the cushion circle and the bottle, he suddenly realized he hadn't exactly told them was game they would be playing, just that there would be kissing. "Oh, it's spin the bottle by the way. Does everyone know the rules? It's simple really. Just spin the bottle, and whoever it lands on, you'll snog. Easy?" Sebastian winked at the group and got comfortable on the floor.

Stelle paused in front of the door to the rehearsal room, her hand suspended in mid-air as she contemplated whether or not to push it open. Through the wood, pink light filtered in soft halos, and she could hear the murmur of a melody floating by like a whisper. Her lips curved into a small, nervous smile; Sebastian always knew how to set the mood, that was undeniable.

But… did she really want to be there?

The rumor of the party had reached her casually, echoing through the halls: “Sebastian’s organizing something for Valentine’s Day… kissing, spin the bottle…” The kind of event that promised laughter, excitement, and for some, the chance to steal a kiss in the mischievous ambiance of dim lighting. Stelle wasn’t sure if that was what she was looking for.

Kissing someone.

The idea wasn’t exactly unpleasant, but it didn’t fill her with excitement either. There was something sweet about the possibility, like the pages of a romance book just beginning, but also a hint of uncertainty, as if she were about to step into unfamiliar territory. Stelle knew herself well enough to know that her heart was a complex place, a labyrinth of emotions that she often navigated alone. What if the bottle spun and stopped in front of someone she wasn't expecting? Or worse, in front of someone she was expecting too much? Did she really want to kiss a stranger? The brush of her dress against his skin brought her back to the present. She had chosen something simple, a soft, natural tone, something that didn't scream attention but also didn't make her disappear into the crowd. Maybe that was what she wanted: to be part of the moment without being at the center of it.

She took a deep breath.

What if she just went to enjoy herself? She didn't have to kiss anyone. She could laugh, chat, even take a mouthwash just for the joke. She could be a spectator, let time pass, and if the right moment came, then she could decide. With a final exhale, she pushed the door open.
The pink light enveloped her, and Stelle entered with a smile of her own, more confident in herself. She didn't know if her heart would skip a beat tonight or if she would simply enjoy the atmosphere. But she was there, and sometimes, making the first move was enough. She didn't have to do anything she didn't want to, she could just be there, meet new people. She wasn't really interested in anyone in particular, her biggest doubt was: would anyone be interested in her?
