Bridget's second year at Hogwarts was underway, and so far things had been different than last year. For one, she had company on the train in the form of Jane Owens, a very nice first year. She'd also talked to the new Herbology Professor, and she hadn't had any exchanges with the staff outside of class before. Also, she'd signed up for dueling, which would take place over the upcoming weekend. The small brunette was nervous, to say the least. She was generally successful with spell casting, but offensive spells had always felt foreign coming from her wand. She wasn't one to hurt other people, even in the safe environment of an organized, monitored duel.
Apart from having a little more social interaction, she'd been way busier. After all, she was having two educations--a magical one and a Muggle one--resulting in a lot more homework. Which was why today after her classes she found herself heading towards the library. It was the best place to work at the moment--the Grounds were being assaulted by a heavy downpour and the Slytherin Common Room was only nice in the summer to escape the temptations of the marvelous weather.
Today had been normal, boring even. And then she heard it--yelling and thuds. What was going on? The snake quickened her pace, running towards the sounds. Maybe hurtling into the commotion wasn't the best idea, but she simply had to know what was going on. After not following the passage under the Whomping Willow last year, her curiosity hated to be ignored. Rounding the corner, Bridget quickly scanned the room. Although not entirely sure of all that had just taken place, one thing was clear. A fight had just broken out.

@Bridget Collins______________________________________________________________________________________________________It had only been a single snarky reply.
Logan had been walking through the corridor, heading towards the library to read, when someone a year or two above him decided to talk to him. Or, rather, actively insult him. Logan dealt with this the best way he knew how to, making a single snarky reply and then walking away.
However, this person didn't want to take this, and so grabbed Logan and pushed him against the wall and started beating him up. Logan yelped as he was pushed against the wall. He took a very short moment to think of what to do, and then quickly raised his knee to hit the other hard between the legs.
Fortunately, this lead to them letting go, but their final punch still managed to land, breaking Logan's glasses. Logan quickly caught the two halves of his glasses and ran for it, running until he knew he was safe, before leaning on a wall whilst trying to regain his breath.. and to maybe also calm down and work out what to do.
His glasses were broken. Fortunately it was the bit in the middle that snapped, the lenses were fine, but still. Logan couldn't see anything too close to him with much clarity without his glasses. He definitely wouldn't be able to read or to work without his glasses. He should've brought a spare pair or something, but he hadn't.

Sorry for the delay--school happened.
Sorry for the delay--school happened.
The fight broke up almost instantly, a small Ravenclaw--probably a First Year--running away with something clutched in hand while the other student, a larger boy in his third year or something, was rolling on the ground in pain. Although Bridget wasn't sure what had happened, she decided she couldn't just forget about the whole thing and she still wanted to know what had happened. The brunette couldn't be sure who was in the wrong, but she followed the younger student after a moment of consideration. For one, she didn't think the First Year would go around picking fights with older, bigger, more powerful students, especially if they were a Ravenclaw, the House attributed with wisdom and intelligence. Also, if she chose wrong she could defend herself against the First Year, something she couldn't say was true for the older boy, all writhing on the ground aside.
The First Year had stopped several hallways down, leaning against the corridor wall to catch a breath. She finally got a good look at the Ravenclaw boy. He had dark brown hair tied back in a bun, which might have originally been neat but was now disheveled and falling out in places. His eyes were a nice dark blue, like the sky before it went completely black at night, that matched the blue marking him as an eagle. For the most part, the younger student seemed to be fine, but who knew what bruises would form later. The only noticeable problem were a pair of glasses, snapped in two, that he was examining.
She certainly wasn't one for introducing herself to people when it could be avoided, nor was she into helping younger students figure out where to go, but at the very least she could fix the glasses. She knew the spell, after all, and the new student almost certainly didn't. Keeping her left hand near her wand, just in case, she stepped closer.
"I can fix your glasses," she began, holding out her free right hand. Realizing she was probably being a bit too much to the point, she took a step back. "I'm Bridget Collins, by the way. Er... What exactly happened back there?"
