Artemis looked upon the three girls, withholding back the yawn that was threatening to be released. He wasn't bored by the duel. Boredom was far from his mind, as each girl demonstrated great skill in their attacks. But he was getting tired, having been up early that day. He could say for sure that he was proud of all four girls and their usage of spells...and their smart tactical moves to dodge when they cannot attack. This was displayed when @Bridget Collins masterfully dodged @Illowy Magnard's spell as she searched frantically for her wand. Hopefully she will still be able to dodge the next spells sent her way and send one back as she continued to look for her wand. Artemis was sure that since @Alexx Séverin finally put her flames out that she would be sending a spell along with her partner toward the small brunette in an effort to knock her out of the duel. That was if Illowy's ever growing cold didn't knock her out in the next two rounds.

Artemis was eager to see how this would end.

Alexx had gotten lucky with extinguishing herself. Since her spellcasting was hit or miss tonight, she wouldn't have wanted to be stuck on fire once more. With Illowy's cold seeming to last, someone needed to be there to take out Bridget if Illowy were to faint. This made Alexx worried, considering luck wasn't on her side. How could she carry this team if she was barely capable of extinguishing herself? She really did not want to have to admit to her friends that she got beaten by a little kid.

Rolling her sleeves up a little bit, Alexx decided that enough was enough. It was time to start being serious and focused. Her reputation could be in potential danger if she didn't step up her game. Pointing her wand at Bridget, she decided to hit her with something that would surely take her down if cast correctly. "Mucus ad Nauseam! She announced, eyebrows furrowed.

To be fair, Alexx had never duelled with anyone before today. Most of these spells... Well, she hadn't really had experience casting them. For a school that taught magic, the use of magic felt in short supply.

ACTIONS:
Cast Curse of the Bogies at Bridget

Illowy mentally cursed Bridget for dodging her spell. Illowy could feel herself running out of steam and she was sure she was starting to look worse for the wear, but she was more then determined to finish this damned duel on her feet. She still had time now that Alexx's flames were smothered out. Between the two of them, if the worked fast enough and Bridget would just hold still for a bloody moment, they could finish this.

Rubbing her raw nose once more on her sleeve, the child lifted her wand again, doing her best to keep her voice strong and her movements as sharp and precise as possible, "Flippendo!"

Action: Cast Flippendo at Bridget

Two rounds. All she had to do was hold out two more rounds until the Curse of the Bogies made it one on one. And then... well, then she would probably still lose. But if it was one on one, at least she didn't have to worry about two spells coming at her at once.

Alexx had successfully extinguished herself. It seemed that whatever was having a negative effect on her casting, be it nerves or pure bad luck, had vanished. Bridget had dodged Illowy's flames, but the spell had admittedly passed closer to the small girl than she would have liked. She still didn't have her wand, which wasn't helping her already problematic situation. The only positive was she didn't have any wavering over what to do--all she could do, after all, was find the wand and dodge her opponents' spells.

Finally, after many quick glances over her shoulder, she locked eyes on her wand. Alexx's Expelliarmus had launched it all the way to the back off the platform. The brunette turned back towards the other snakes. If she wanted to retrieve her wand without getting knocked unconscious, she'd have to time this perfectly. One spell she could dodge, but two spells? This would certainly be interesting.

Alexx was moving her wand in what she thought was the shape of the candle flame, but her lips came together to form a M, meaning she was instead casting Mucus ad Nauseam. Bridget really had no desire to have a cold that would complicate her ability to aim, what with sneezing and coughing, but it wasn't going to have any immediate effect. However, there was no doubt that whatever came out of Illowy's wand would do her in; Bridget was starting to breathe a little more easily but she doubted she could handle any major impacts.

So, when a blast of blue light shot out of Illowy's wand, Bridget rolled out of the way and dove for her wand.

"Oh my god! Just knock her out already!" a student from the crowd would  aggressively call out when @Illowy Magnard's Flipendo missed its target.

"Hey, Séverin! What's the matter with you? I know you sucked at being a witch but I didn't think you sucked this bad!" a Slytherin would sneer up at the podium.

Artemis turned to look at the two students, an unamused glare gracing his features as he stared the two students down. The first student had the good nature to look away sheepishly but the Slytherin student just shrugged and said, quite loudly, "What? She prances around school like a know-it-all. She deserves to get knocked down a peg or five. Especially by a Second-year! A itty-bitty second year is kicking your arse Séverin!"

Artemis fully turned around to face the student with a murderous expression. If there was anything Artemis didn't abide by, it was needless bullying. "You will leave this room post haste and return to your rooms until I have summoned you. As of right now you have detention with me for the rest of the week. Open your mouth again and I will make it a month. LEAVE!"

Not bothering to watch whether or not the kid left, Artemis turned to the three girls on the podium. It was true that @Alexx Séverin's most recent spell fell short, but the Charms professor figured it had more to do with the length of the duel and the possibility that the young third year wad exhausted from casting and dodging spells all afternoon. He was sure that the girl would be furious, what with her fellow student's jeers and the fact that both her and her partner's spell missed @Bridget Collins completely. Bridget's agility and Alexx's lack of focus gave the smaller girl the opportunity to reach her wand and get back into a dueling position. Now that she had her wand back, he was wondering what the girl would do.

Illowy had a very short time limit now. Artemis could see the cold making her a bit more sluggish, her slouched position and heavy breathing through her mouth making it evident that the curse placed upon her was taking its toll. Artemis could imagine that it wouldn't be long before she passed out.

Illowy will lose consciousness on the 11th round of this duel! (2 rounds)

Listen, Alexx could be mad at her opponents all she wanted. But this was a friendly duel, and she knew that. Alexx was a good sport at least, but in the heat of the moment, she got angry. Hell, anyone would have. Especially if luck wasn't on their side. But right now, she had half a mind to point that wand of hers right at the crowd and Flipendo the little shit who was speaking against her. And someone from her own house, no less! But she wouldn't let that distract her. If anything, Alexx was going to attempt to use that.

She remembered something- something from Herbology or whatever the heck the class was that taught her about wand woods. The wood of her wand was beech wood, and it was said to perform poorly for those that it was wrongfully sorted to. While she wanted to trust that she had the right wrong, it felt too natural for doubt to eat at her.

Her eyes flickered to Reid Kovacs, who was standing in the crowd watching her. She was completely embarrassing herself in front of her friend. She wanted to shrink into herself right now, much like a turtle, and just curl up and die. But she wouldn't allow that to happen! That would confirm what the little twat was saying about her. They better be lucky that Professor Vernatis took care of it, or else Reid and Ami (who was also in the crowd watching, much to her dismay) would have. That would have been much more eventful to watch.

Sadly, Bridget had also managed to avoid Illowy's spell. The odds were not in favor of the pair! Alexx was tired. Very tired. She wanted for Bridget to just pass out already! Knowing what might do the trick, if she would be so lucky, Alexx aimed her wand at Bridget. "Incendio!"

Perhaps if she didn't feel like every orpheus of her head was either stuffed up or raw, she'd have better heard some of the student's comments when the girl managed to dodger her spell. Alexx's had miss altogether, which caused a ruckus in and of itself. From the corner of her eye she could see the Professor turn for a moment to scold a couple of students out of the dueling chambers altogether, but now wasn't the time to focus on that as Bridget got her wand back.

Her time was running out, and she needed Alexx to get her head on straight and make this next casts worth it... and Illowy needed to do the same. They needed to hit Bridget hard and fast and end this whole dance.

Trying to fix her posture and present herself as being stronger then she actually felt, Illowy raised her wand, "Flippendo!"

Action: Cast Flippendo at Bridget

In that moment, it didn't matter that they were still dueling, still trying to send each other to the Hospital Wing. Bridget was fired up by the rude jeering of the crowd at her opponents, particularly Alexx, and that was saying something, considering she'd actually been on fire a few rounds ago.

The brunette had half a mind to yell at the offenders and even a fleeting impulse to Flipendo the Slytherin boy, but the logical side of her brain quickly vetoed both possibilities. For one, those moments of distraction would certainly be utilized by the other team. Also, she had the feeling attacking someone outside of the platform wouldn't be taken too well. In fact, she wondered why it had crossed her mind--if the older student received detention for a few comments, openly attacking a student would get her far worse. Besides, she didn't owe Alexx anything.

Bridget really did feel bad for the third year though. Sure, she had a minor grudge against Alexx, but the blonde certainly didn't deserve this. Her spell-casting was fluctuating (which was really outside of her control) and it was risking her reputation. Most people in the room knew who Alexx was from Quidditch or seeing her around the halls whereas before today, nobody really knew who Bridget Collins was. In a sense, the was relieving as she didn't have to keep up with people's expectations, but at the same time it scared her, knowing that what went down in the duel would establish her reputation.

As of right now, it seemed she was only being remembered as the 'itty-bitty second year' who Alexx and Illowy had so far failed to knock out. And that was frustrating. Sure, she was short and a year younger than Alexx, but why should that make her irrelevant? It was between her and Illowy now, a competition to see who would last longer. No more dodging. Illowy had said she wouldn't go down without a fight and neither would Bridget.

"Flipendo!" she said, but it sounded more like a command. One way or another, someone was going out.

"Flipendo!"

Artemis would hear @Illowy Magnard shout out her spell, shooting it at her opponent and hoping that it would connect with the smaller girl. Unfortunately, her increasing cold would naturally mess with her aim just a smidge allowing @Bridget Collins to dodge the spell successfully. As Bridget moved out of the way of the Knockback Jinx, she would shoot out the same spell from her own wand to give Illowy a taste of her own medicine, but with her focus set upon her year-mate, Bridget didn't see the spell heading directly toward her; a present from her upperclassman.

"Incendio!" 

@Alexx Séverin's spell sped across the platform toward the smaller girl, connecting with the girl's chest instantly and knocking her down onto the platform. Bridget went down with a small and short cry before she fell silent. Artemis held up a hand and lowered the shield around the platform as he hurried over to the prone student. Using his wand, he put out the few flames that clung onto the girl's robes from the initial contact with the fire spell and waved his wand over her. After making sure she wasn't seriously injured, a stretcher was conjured under her and she was lifted up into the air. Placing a hand on the girl's shoulder, Artemis said, "You fought well, Miss Collins."

Moving over to the two victors, Artemis held out his arms and said, "Our winners of today's duel: Miss Alexx Séverin and Miss Illowy Magnard! Both Miss Collins and Miss Larkston dueled hard and strategically, giving their opponents a run for their money. However, our winners persevered and won our in the end and deserve a round of applause! Let us give all of our duelist a round of applause for a spectacular duel and for giving this duel their very best!"

Turning to the two winners, Artemis gave the two girls a soft smile. "Congratulations to you both. You  two fought very hard and you should be proud of yourselves. Once you finish speaking with your classmates, make your way to the Hospital Wing for some much needed R&R. Especially you, Miss Magnard." With a final nod, Artemis turned to the prone girl on the stretcher.

"Miss Collins, you've done well today, especially on your own there at the end. You should be very proud of yourself. I hope that you will join the Dueling Club because you are definitely a force to be reckoned with. Enjoy your rest."

Artemis moved away as the two seventh years came to carry the stretcher out of the room to the Hospital Wing and announced that everyone should leave and head back to their common rooms as the duel was officially over and dinner was soon to be held in the Great Hall. The Charms Professor was ready for a nap himself and as the last of the students left, the man departed and made his way over to his own office to find his bed for the next few hours.

This marks the end of the duel!
