Brielle sat tired at one of the tables in the Library. As she flipped another page of her DADA textbook, she heaved a sigh, tapping her quill pen against the table vigorously, trying to remain focused.

As the tapping of her pen made clicks against the hard wood of the desk she was sitting at, she began to receive stares, indicating she was being slightly annoying. Self-conscious, she placed her pen down and bit her lower lip.

Brielle was supposed to have a tutor come and help her with the studying, but coincidentally they had never showed. Brielle, after waiting for an hour, decides to pack up her things and go look for a book to pass the time. As she so neatly placed everything in her bag, she stood quietly and walked over to one of many shelves. She plucked a random book off the rack, one she had probably already read before. The book she had grabbed had been by the author Newt Scamander, Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them.

She absolutely adored this novel, so she held the book tightly to her chest and scurried back to her table. After skimming through the book, she became slightly more irritated at the fact that she was blown off. Like how can someone do that to another person? The least they could have done was let her know before coming all the way down here.
Five more minutes, Brielle had thought. Five more minutes and then she was leaving.

Dawn was sitting at a table in the library, doing her Herbology homework. The second-year Hufflepuffs had Herbology today, and they had been given a big load of homework. She was trying to concentrate on her work, but she noticed that another student (Brielle) was tapping her pen on the table. That sort of annoyed Dawn at first, but she got used to it.

After hearing the pen tap the table for a little while, Dawn decided the rhythm was helping her concentrate more. Not soon after she thought this though, it stopped. Clearly, other students did not share the same opinions of the noise that Dawn did.

The same girl who was tapping the pen was evidently waiting for someone who didn't show up. After sitting somewhat impatiently for a little while, Dawn saw her put her things in her bag, and go to look for a book. When she stood up, Dawn could see her uniform better now, she was a Slytherin. Probably a first-year, Dawn thought. Her Herbology class was with the Slytherins today, and this girl was not present for that.

Dawn saw her pick up a book, squeeze it tightly to her chest,  and go sit down at a table. She skimmed the book, but then began to look annoyed. Dawn decided that the least she could do was go and see what was bothering her.

Shyly approaching the girl, Dawn said, "Hi there. You look annoyed, would you like to tell me what's wrong."

After what felt like ages, had only been 5 minutes. Brielle had become fed up, and felt as if she shouldn't have to wait for someone who isn't coming in the first place. As she slid the book across the table in disinterest, she noticed a girl with Hufflepuff robes approach her. Brielle rudely cocked an eyebrow, thinking this was her tutor. Standing up, preparing to go bloody hell on this girl, she said something shocking.
"Hi there. You look annoyed, would you like to tell me what's wrong."
Someone noticed her sitting alone? She found it surprising as the girl smiled at her, genuinly curious as to what had been the matter. Had I been that obvious? Brielle asked herself, shaking her head. As her expression softened, she sighed and motioned for her to sit down, guilt rose in herself from her rude expression she had first had. Brielle told the girl about how she'd been blown off, and how her tutor never showed.
"Like who does that? They could have told me at least.."
Her voice trailed off, worried that she had become too whiny. She shrugged, looking at the girl who she'd been talking to for almost thirty minutes. Thirty minutes and she hadn't even learned her name yet!

As Brielle pushed her long black hair behind her shoulder, she propped her head on the palm of her right hand and smiled.
"Whats your name, anyway?"

When Dawn had asked the girl what was bothering her, she hadn't expected an answer. This girl was a Slytherin and most Slytherins didn't usually want to open up about what was bothering them. As she was approaching and asking the Slytherin a question, she couldn't help notice a raised eyebrow, with a hint of rudeness in it.

The girl motioned for Dawn to take a seat. As Dawn sat down, the Slytherin spoke. She talked about how she had arranged for a tutor to come and meet her in the library. The tutor had never shown up, the girl had been blown off. Dawn wondered who this tutor was, surely not a Hufflepuff, Dawn thought. None of the Hufflepuffs would ever make a commitment and then not go through with it. With the statement, "Like who does that? They could have told me at least.." the girl finished. At the end there, the Slytherin's voice trailed off a tad bit, as if she was worried about talking for too long or sounding a little rude.

Looking down at her watch, Dawn realised that thirty minutes had gone by since they began their conversation. had begun. The other girl placed her head on her hand, pulled back her hair behind her ear and asked, "What's your name, anyway?"

"I'm Dawn Riley, Second Year, Hufflepuff. Who might you be? Oh, and who was your tutor supposed to be, did you know?"

Opal was strolling into the library, pleased with herself that she had not taken an afternoon nap and instead went to the library to work on her Charms homework. She stopped at the Librarian's Desk to check in a few books, then walked a bit further in, then stopped. Is that a Slytherin with a Hufflepuff? That's odd, they are normally two separate groups. she thought. Opal hugged her bag to her upper chest so she could gawk without anybody seeing and mistaking her for rude. Well, if a Hufflepuff is talking to that Slytherin, the Slytherin must be somewhat nice! Opal reasoned in her head. She decided it wouldn't hurt to go and socialize a bit.

Opal slowly walked towards the table, her bag slung over her shoulder. The Slytherin and Hufflepuff turned towards her. Opal kept her cool and continued until she was standing next to the table they were sitting at. "Hello," She started, rather awkwardly. "I'm Opal. Opal Ivory. I saw you guys chatting, and I was a bit b-bored.." Opal would trail off, not really knowing what to say, since she'd never spoken to a Slytherin. And, from what the older Ravenclaws said: Don't. She mentally heeded this warning but, in her reasoning, if a Hufflepuff was speaking with them, then they must be alright, for a Slytherin at least. "So.. I saw you chatting, and I happened to overhear that you needed a tutor for DADA, and.. I think I'm alright, so.." She'd clear her throat, letting the thought sink in. "Well, if you do happen to want my help, I'll be over there. See you." With that, she twirled on her heel, and headed over to a table, sat down, and pulled out her Charms homework.

Brielle shook her head, black strands of hair moving back and fourth as she did so. As for the question about her tutor, she had no idea. She knew it was supposed to be a Gryffindor, but that was as far as she knew.
"No, it was sort of, um, well it was anonymous. We didnt know who the tutor and the pupil would be before we met up. It was to basically make us feel less pressured. Which I didn't care if they knew who I was, but that was just the rule."
As Brielle began to talk more, a Ravenclaw approached the table now and introduced herself. The girl claimed to be named Opal. She appeared to be timid or scared even when talking to Brielle, as if she would be rude to her. Sure, Slytherins weren't the nicest but they were vicious.. "I saw you guys chatting, and I was a bit b-bored.." Opal had added, her voice quivered with the sentence. "So.. I saw you chatting, and I happened to overhear that you needed a tutor for DADA, and.. I think I'm alright, so.. if you do happen to want my help, I'll be over there. See you." And with that, the girl scurried back to her own table and began working on a paper of her own. At first Brielle called after her, but then shrugged and stood, walking over to where she had sat down.
"You dont have to be scared of me just because I'm a Slytherin.. And I could actually really use your help. If you dont mind, that is."

Opal looked up and gave a small smile. "Okay!" she said, beaming with the idea of tutoring somebody in her best subject, DADA. She gathered her books, papers, and quills and shuffled them into her bag. Opal pushed the bag off to the side so there was room for Brielle to sit down. "What do you want to start with?" she asked curiously. "I personally enjoy the idea of werewolves. Hm, while you decide, I'll go grab some books to help us with!" Opal trotted off to the DADA aisle, searching for good study guides all the while picking up some casual reads for herself. She hummed as she worked, scanning the shelves. She kept grabbing more and more, occasionally counting the books stacked in her arms. At one point, her arms were so full she could barely see! Opal walked back to the table, clutching the textbooks and set them down. They were so heavy, they made a Bang! upon impact with the table. She blushed, and awkwardly sat down, but since the tower of books was so high, she couldn't see Brielle over them. Opal carefully took a few off the pile and made another smaller pile. She smiled awkwardly at Brielle, slightly embarrassed for going over the top. Literally! "Sorry, I guess I can be a bit intense about my reading!" Opal's nervously giggle, trying to lighten the mood. "Okay, so... Have you decided what we should start with? I grabbed at least 4 books on every aspect we cover in DADA this year, so we'll be as prepared as we can be." She looked at Brielle, to see - to her astonishment - that Brielle looked very intrigued about what Opal was saying. Hey, that's interesting! From what all of the older Ravenclaws said, Slytherins tend to slack off, but not this one! she thought, pleased with herself that she was holding a Slytherin's attention. After an hour of research, it was time for dinner. "Oh! We need to get to dinner! Let's pick this up tomorrow, same time, same table. See you!" With that said, Opal shuffled the books together and checked them out. As she was leaving the library, she caught Brielle's eye and gave a small wave before continuing to Ravenclaw Tower.
