Both spells shot at the exact same momment, heading straight towards the other's caster. Pettely's eyes shifted to his own, soaring visciously through the room, eager to watch it strike and do its job. However, right when the spell was about to hit his opponent, Pettely felt something wrapping around his eyes, suddenly, he could see nothing but pitch black.

"Holy shit!"
"What the fuck just happened!"

It really was terrifying. One second you're dueling someone, then the next, everything is gone. For all he knew, this might be death...
Nevertheless, Pettely had to think logically, first of all, a second year would never be able to cast a spell so powerful, that would literally kill! Also, he could just feel the consciousness flowing through his body. Surely, this wasn't death, nor the end of his life.

What about the spell he had casted? Did it work?
Yes. Yes it did. Pettely felt the magical aura, telling him to maintain his concentration, and continue the effects. And just for a bit more insurance, Pettely heared the moderator complement him, surely that meant the spell was successful.

Taking advantage of the situation Tracey didn't wait a second to turn her wand on the blinded victim even as she floated above in the air. After all he was still managing to act smug even with a blindfold over his eyes. With a devastating knockback jinx that hit Pettely with a blast of force he couldn't see coming he would simply feel his stomach lurch back wind brushing past his hair and into his ears. It was a solid move and finally it seemed that the playing field was beginning to even out.

Unfortunately for the girl that no sooner had the spell hit than Pettely's concentration on her levitation was broken and she found herself ungracefully falling to the ground catching her ankle slightly with the rough landing. Yet even as she fell she finally felt like she was on the rise and had precious moments to consider her next moves while her opponent recovered from the blast.

Pettely although brash and loud with his voice was smarter than one might give himself credit and wasn't about to throw a spell on the off chance he'd hit. No he was going to remain strategic even if it would cost him the glory of gloating about hitting someone while blindfolded. Recovering from the flipendo he reached up and with a swift movement removed the nasty fabric obscuring his vision so that he could see the girl once more. She may have gotten the better of him this time but the duel was not over yet and there was plenty more fight in the young Hufflepuff.

Now, was Tracey going to let a perfect time to attack slip? No way! So, while she was being levitated in the air, a sorta evil smile appeared on her lips as she casted one of the powerful spells she knew, Flipendo.

The spell was useful, but she didn't like the pain that followed with it, or at least when she was attacked by the same spell multiple times. Tracey was glad her Flipendo was successful, and her evil grin turned into a small sly smirk. Now, if it wasn't already clear that she's a Ravenclaw, well, she could also be a Slytherin? Or maybe not.

Tracey watched as her blindfolded victim got thrown back from the force of her spell, but then her sly smirk quickly changed into the look of fear when she felt herself falling. Tracey tried to brace her fall, but as she did so, she landed on her ankle, and knew for sure it was twisted or sprained. Tracey stayed on the ground for a few minutes, trying to calm the pain in her ankle before she slowly got up, ready to continue with the duel, and hopefully her ankle won't stop her from doing so.

Despite the magnificent luck so far, all great things must come to an end. And let me tell you, when it did, it wasn't pretty. The Knockback Jinx hit Pettely like a cannonball, it felt like a cannonball, mind you.

"Fuck!"

Looking back, this was his very first time being hit by an offensive spell. He should've at least prepared for this momment, but right now, he looked like a complete idiot, with his butt down on the ground, cursing non-stop like an angry drunk man you'd see on streets of New York, and letting out an "Ow ow ow, why the fuck did you do that? as if she wasn't allowed to land a spell that hurts on Pettely.

"Cheap shot!" Pettely yelled, looking at the wrong direction. He knew that he had no right to be mad, but couldn't help it. The bloody fabric covering up his sight, bum down on the floor, not to mention the extreme amount of pain still flowing in his body! He genuinely wondered about the decision of the Wizarding World to make the sport legal.

But the little badger still had plenty more fight in him.

He let out an aspiring roar that echoed through the room, quickly picked himself up, took off the shitty piece of fabric covering his eyes, and flung it down to the floor victoriously.

"I am just getting started! And until one of us is down, I'll attack you relentlessly!"

In the very second thtat Tracey seemed to have turned the tides the seas turned against her one more and while she masterfully summoned up a unique spell that would have ruined the firsties day quite thoroughly she was unable to hit him.

Seemingly having removed the blindfold had refocused the young Pettely's effective evasive manoeuvring and he dodged the spell with careful precision before once again aiming his wand delivering his own knockback burst. While the spell would hit the girls shoulder it was little comparison to the Trifecta of jinxes she had received against their moderators team. Still the shoulder would ache and she would worry about her chances from a boy so seemingly gifted in the duelling arts.

A boy who was clearly using the sport to take out some kind of aggression or overt display of toxic masculinity that cause Matthew to roll his eyes at but refused to deign with a comment.

What was the best plan of action, would they continue to just send blasts at each other or would Tracey continue to use her intelligent wit to try spells the boy would be unfamiliar with. Either way it seemed that the pair were locked in this duel until the very end and Matthew watched on with anticipation for how it would end. The match certainly seemed to favour Pettely for the moment but fortuna was never so simple in her whims and the afternoon was young.

It seems that Pettely's remarks were making Tracey become annoyed, and possibly angry? But, how on earth could she possibly angry? She usually isn't. But then again, Pettely's remarks were probably the cause of why she isn't doing her usual best.

Tracey decided it was time to ignore the younger boy. Yes, she will try her best to block off her hearing from him. But for now, she must focus on this round. After this there would only be two more rounds left, and hopefully she would be standing. But, Tracey had lost all faith in her winning this duel.

Tracey had once again decided to use a second year spell on Pettely. In fact, she actually hadn't used this spell yet, so, seeing that it was successfully casted brought a small smile to her face, but as soon as the younger boy dodged it, her smile left her face entirely.

Now, Tracey was more than ready to dodge the spell that Pettely would be casting at her, but as she tried to, well, it hit her directly in her shoulder. But, unlike the other knockback jinxes she's been hit with, it didn't hurt her that much, but she still clutched her shoulder in pain, and even allowed a curse to slip through her lips. Which, if it was heard, would come as a big shock to people that know that Tracey would never, or hasn't ever sweared in her life before.

It seemed that Pettely's toxic maneuvers were getting the better of his opponent. When the young badger was breaking out his best dance moves, he noticed an unknown spell soaring in his direction. However, this only increased Pettely's determination to dodge it even more as he decided to let out a quite rough roll avoiding it, finishing it off with a cool pose. (At least cool in his mind) Just another way to get inside her big Ravenclaw brain.

It was now his turn to strike.

"Let's see how you like the Knockback burst!" Pettely quickly slashed his wand towards the opponent, shouting out "Flipendo!"

The spell soared across the room. It looked a bit more dim than the one his opponent casted. Nevertheless, it hit her on the shoulder. Knocking the duelist in a brutal fashion, just like she did to him. "Alright!" Pettely yelled with genuine glee. Immediately after, he let out a relieved sigh. How assuring it felt to know that his luck hasn't ran out yet. And currently, the opposing duelist looked feeble and exhausted. Was it because of how rude Pettely behaved in this duel? Or the spells that caused these effects?

Perhaps both, he didn't mind either way. At the momment, only thing he cared about was winning. If that meant being toxic? Pettely would be glad to play by that circumstance.

After an eventful last couple of rounds the match seemed to be slowing down in progress with each duellist readying themselves to dodge whatever came their way. It seemed that the pair had moved into the same mind frame as both sent bursts of flame prancing through the air at one another. Seemingly the act of preparing a similar spell also readied their bodies to dodge given the grace in which they both maneuvered out of each others grasp.

The resulting sparks blazed through the air like phoenixes though neither would reach the other target. Jets of red and orange illuminating the space with a bright glow that lingered as they disappeared. The experienced Tracey had even one upped her younger opponent by using the second year progression of his spell that would have left him nastily burned had she had her way. It was quite fair given he planned to do the same even if with a less powerful variant.

So just as Matthew had predicted Fortuna had decided the match wasn't quite finished yet. In a normal duel the following round would have been the final but given this was all for good sport the rules were less rigid and Matthew was far too excited to see where it would go to interfere. Watching eagerly for their next moves he smiled wildly letting the warmth of their flames settle under his skin.

It seemed that for once, she and Pettely had the same goal in mind, have their opponent be set on flames. Tracey was already set on flames for too long during the duel, and so when she saw Pettely's fire spell, she made sure to dodge it before it even hit.

Once she had successfully dodged, it was now time for her to cast her own version of that spell, the more powerful one. But, sadly, though it was a successful cast, Pettely had dodged it as well, appearently Pettely also didn't want to be set on flames.

Tracey glanced over at Matthew and noticed that he was having too much fun, but either the duel will end in another round, or it'll end if Tracey or Pettely lost consciousness, but, if the duel would go till then, Tracey would definitely be out first.

But, come to think of it, would that be something Matthew would do? Hopefully not. Anywho, Tracey still had time before the next, and hopefully final round began, because apparently the dueling rounds have been extended to 10 instead of 8. But, she used this time to think carefully about the next spell she wanted to use. When she knew what it was, she pointed her wand at Pettely, and was ready to cast.

It seemed that Pettely decided to go back to his old ways. Using the cruel spell to wrap his opponent in flames, and burn them down, until all his anxiety melted away in to a far away land. However, his expectations were shattered, as he saw the girl avoid it, the flames he casted were now nothing more than some heat in the air. Unfortunately, Pettely had no time to mourn over the wasted spell, or do anything. He noticed a far greater form of fire than the one he had manage to cast, heading straight towards him, like a Phoenix soaring to his prey. It wasn't just because of her arc power that the spell was undoubtedly more powerful. It was a whole different spell entirely, a far greater variant, one-upping his own.

No one knows where Pettely's evading skills came from, back in muggle school, he was known for being able to dodge every and each ball that was thrown to him in P.E classes. Nobody considered Pettely to be athletic, or strong by that matter. The random quickness of his reflexes has always been a mystery - even to Pettely himself. All the same, he frequently bragged about it given the opportunity.

"You know, don't be sad that I can dodge your spells easily, I am just naturally talented."
