12:30-13:30 on Sunday, 9th of February, 2025...

Tides had shifted. From the Ravens and then to the Badgers. Emily had decided to put her all in her observation skills, eyes on their opponents, on their wands. Spells might come flying at her considering her condition. Surely enough, she would be the prime target of the birds. She didn't have to worry about that, however, for the spell that was meant for her had just decided to turn against its caster. Yougle's Flipendo that was meant for Emily backfired due to a miscast. It happens and not only are they embarrassing and annoying, they are also painful for the caster will take the full brunt of whatever you were casting.

That aside, the said Ravenclaw wasn't ready for the rest of the things that had happened in this duel. A second Flipendo went for her, a spell that wasn't meant for her in the first place but Minnie must’ve miscalculated her aim or something. That was aimed for Maisie, the Badgers taking advantage of her blindfolded state and with that sudden shift of target and recovering from her own spell, Yougle had no time to dodge at all. It was enough to make her stagger, taking a lot of her stamina in just two shots and she is looking a lot worse than Emily now. In an instant, she was so close to passing out. Raizel kept her eyes on her, assessing her situation. She was in no condition to continue but there was still fire in her, she could see it. She could still keep going.

Back to Maisie and the Badgers taking advantage of the situation, Costanza tried to hit her with one spell as well but even when blindfolded, Maisie still managed to get out of the way, the spell just whizzing past her just as she took off that blindfolded. The Ravens weren't gonna let that slide, Tracey firing her own Obscuro towards Costanza and what do you know, it hit, way better than the one that hit Maisie. It wrapped around Costanza’s eyes tight, her world turning into total darkness.

The spells were flying back and forth as Maisie blinked underneath the blindfold. For a moment, she considered firing a spell—because she could see—but decided against it. Mylo wouldn't approve of such rash and un-responsible action. Better to be safe and in control.

So, she reached up and begun to undo the blindfold, which wasn't particularly difficult considering how loose it was. Her arm reached up and over with the last piece of the bandage when— 

—a flash of sparks came from Yougle's direction. Blinking, Maisie knew what that was, having experienced it once before herself: a spell going horribly, horribly wrong. Turning her head, she could see Yougle had gone from standing there ordinarily to something significantly worse. "You all right?" she queried out of courtesy.

Looking back ahead, it was clear Tracey had landed a blindfold of her own—and more successfully. With a smile, she offered Tracey a thumbs up. That was the veteran duellist she knew.

Sometimes a good defence is a good offence. It was a lesson Emily sometimes wished she took upon more often when it came to duels rather than just standing there and getting punished with hit after hit when spells didn't go the way she would hope.

Emily dodged when she saw a spell was getting ready to come her way. Phew! It felt good not to be on the receiving end of another hit. But that poor birdie getting blown back by her own spell. Emily had done that before. It wasn't pretty when that happened.

She saw Costanza was blindfolded now. Every round seemed to be some "pass-the-blindfold" game. Emily wasn't worried.

"We've got this! Everyone just keep your wits about you!"

Lady Luck doesn’t seem to know who to favor in the duel, whether she wanted to root for the Ravens or the Badgers. Both sides got their own unfortunate outcome this round. Ravenclaw had experienced a backfire earlier in the form of Yougle’s Flipendo which had brought her down into a state that a mere push could render her unconscious. This time though, it was Hufflepuff that got to be the unfortunate one. While not as powerful as the Flipendo, Incendio Duo was just as devastating and Emily had to suffer for it. It ended up with her almost burning to crisps and setting her clothes on fire as well. Others retorted to the use of the weaker variant of this Fire Making spell. While the excessive use of fire in this round had Raizel wincing a bit, recalling an incident that happened last year, she knew she couldn’t take her eyes off of what’s happening, especially when someone could end up unconscious.

And someone did. It was no surprise that Yougle had been targeted by one of those Incendio and that clean hit had sent her falling back, knocking her out of the duel, Minnie successfully reducing their opponents number. That looked painful. The same thing happened to Emily. One of those Incendio, courtesy of Maisie, was sent for her. Yougle’s spell was easier to avoid for the said Hufflepuff but Maisie’s wasn’t. Compared to the Flipendo sent out by a half-conscious Yougle who was holding dearly to what’s left of her energy, that Incendio was well aimed and Emily was still recovering from her spell backfire. Dodging two spells at the same time was too much for her. She was not looking after that. Well, at least her clothes didn’t get set on fire even further.

Costanza seems to be the lucky one this time however. Blindfolded, she had the lowest chance of avoiding any spell coming for her, especially when she was too busy removing that blindfold off. Lucky for her, the moment she took that off, Tracey’s disarming charm came into her view, giving her room to avoid it.

“And that’s that for Crenshaw.” She had put up a great fight, Raizel thought as she put the duel on hold for a few seconds to get her safely off of the piste and taken to the hospital wing. With that taken care of, the duel had resumed.
