2024/25, Stage 2 Gryffindor V Ravenclaw: Match 8

Once the Curse of Bogies hit her, the duel turned into a personal vendetta. Ballet was one thing—familiar, something she actually loved. But ballet while fighting the urge to vomit? While mucus blurred her vision and clogged her nose? That was a whole new level of suffering.

"Fucking NPC bitches," she hissed under her breath, wiping at the mess on her face with a glare sharp enough to cut glass.

She tried to fight back, wand snapping toward one of the Ravenclaws, but the universe had other plans. The moment she cast Flipendo, the spell twisted against her, and before she knew it, she was flying back, her back crashing againts a wall.

Round 4

12:30 on Saturday 8th February, 2025...

This new crop of duellists was helpless at worst and barely good enough at best. They flung spells like infants with a toy and yet a child had better aim than them. Their spells were going anywhere but their targets. Chief among them, Edwin, who missed his flipendo so bad he nearly sent ula flying again. Thankfully for her and the team's sake she was no longer forced to dance and could easily dodge that misaimed spell.

Ula, Avis, edwin and Silva, all had the aim of a blind man with no ears, shining brightly and coming out on top this round however was Meiyu and Yolanda, both of them had chosen incendio for their choice of violence.

Meiyu opted to target Silva, who almost dodged it, almost i say as the flame caught up to her, setting her on fire for bit now. Yolanda from the ravens turned out to not only be the best caster around for this round, but also had the best aim as she chose Edwin to be her Prey. The incendio from her hitting Edwin upfront, the man even after his quite wonky attempt to dodge failed miserably. Honestly with just one spell he began looking a little too roughed up.

Ula exhaled sharply, finally free from the embarrassing ballet performance, yet she was starting to feel worse and worse from the curse that one of the Air Nomads managed to land. Ula was a mess. Her temples were throbbing in pain, she was pretty sure she ate a whole ton of mucus by now—considering the gooey substance that kept running in the back of her throat, and she felt sick to her stomach because of it. The ravenette clenched her jaw, deciding she would rather die than to give the opposing team any satisfaction in seeing her falter.

At least she could move properly now, which was more than she could say for the first year lion, who nearly sent her flying again with his catastrophically bad aim. She shot him a sharp glare but held her tongue—barely. Instead, she focused on her own spell, trying to land a hit, only for her aim to betray her just as badly. It was embarrassing. Everyone in this round seemed cursed with the accuracy of a half-blind troll, except for Meiyu. At least someone on her team had decent aim.

Things were not going favourably for Edwin Westbridge, he had first missed his second spell by a country mile, and then somehow decided the second year Gryffindor would be a suitable target of his next attack. Thankfully, his aim was just poor against his teammates as it had been against the Ravenclaws. He hadn't a moment to criticise himself, however, as a spell had struck him. He had briefly feared that it was over, and he would be set alight, however, thankfully the flames didn't catch onto his clothing, nor spread from their initial point of impact. And so, for now, he had been spared.

Ascending onto their fifth round, Meiyu would feel more confident in the lions if Ula and Edwin managed to successfully cast their spells. Her own success immediately shadowed by the opposing Asian attempting to cast a weak spell against her, fortunately, she evaded, unable to hide the content smirk forming on her lips as she briefly basked in glory. Turning her head to glare at her teammates, who clearly took the first few rounds as some form of casting practice — minus her beloved and cherished Ula.

"Focus, both of you." She gritted, mostly glaring at the blonde who was allegedly meant to be a prodigy, the older ravenette still suffering from a wretched hex.

Round 5

12:30 on Saturday 8th February, 2025...

With the commencing of round five of this duel, it seemed as if the ravens had lost all hopes of making a comeback, two of them so dazed they couldn't even bother to either keep their guards up or fling spells at their opposition. Most effort from the ravenclaw side came from Avis Marlong, who did her best attempt at actively dodging all things thrown at her. Managing to successfully escape an incendio aimed right at her. Sadly for her, only she could do so much for her team.

Ula takashi on the other side aimed an incendio at Avis, only her aim was so misplaced it redirected itself to Silva Melinora, who as previously said, was so dazed she didn't even notice much until she was set aflame by the older gyrffindor girl. Meiyu Xiang, seemingly influenced by Ula attempted the same at Avis, only her spell could do so much before entirely missing it's mark. Making only for a good firework show and nothing beyond.

Edwin westbridge chose a non violent approach for this round as he cast expelliarmus on Yolanda Yates, effectively taking away her wand and with it any ability for her to cast another spell. Prat shouted at the two ravens " Oi !!, snap out of it."

For the first time, Meiyu missed. Immediately disheartened by her unsuccessful attempt at another offensive spell, scowling as she watched the light show as a result of her failure. Though, it wasn't until the snake raised his voice, directing the internal feelings she had towards the Ravens — who by this point, became dazed far too often for her liking. Gently shaking off the newfound irritation caused by her miss, she promised herself to do better with the remaining rounds.

Besides, it wasn't like the Airbender who frequently sought solace in the dazed-like would serve useful, being without the Airbending Staff clearly had it's consequences. "You'd think being the reincarnation of Aang, she'd do better, they're all shit, one dodges, the other doing nothing, where's the real aggressive duelling I signed up for?" She muttered, almost puzzled by the entire outcome of the duel, her first being nothing she even imagined.

Fortunately, she they were alive and that's what mattered.
