Dear Ms. @Meiyu Xiang,

Black heels clicked against the cobblestone floor as Hana stepped into the owlery. In true Bakir fashion, Hana adorned an all-black outfit, down to the petticoat under her skirt. The young snake had opted to wear one of her darling wigs today—a midnight blue one that glided softly along her back, resting at her hip; two black bows decorated the wig, pulling her hair into two long pigtails. Fur gloves dressed her hands, ensuring warmth amidst the frosty Scotland weather.

The fur gloves currently held a ten page letter detailing exactly what she had done in the week, including every miniscule musing that'd crossed her mind. All neccessary, of course. Perhaps if her letter was crammed with an abundance of lamentations regarding her lack of company, the youngest would secretly find a way to re-enroll himself into Hogwarts, or the twins would miracously age two years within the span of a couple hours. Merlin, even the company of the infant was suffice in these trying times.

Dark, almost black, eyes sparingly inspected the contents written on the page. Writing home was continuously proving to be quite the challenge—the letters mysteriously tripling in length, going from a page to twenty-five in the span of an hour. But alas, it was the only form of correspondance at this sickly school. A long finger lightly brushed the edge of the parchment, eyes softening as she visualized her family's inordinate reactions to her seemingly mundane week.

Since the carriage had made its departure from the manor, a dark pit had settled in her stomach. The feeling only grew as time progressed, soon consuming her entire being. Hana attempted to rid herself of the feeling, whether it be by vigoriously studying or writing home as much as she could, but her efforts proved fruitless. She missed hunting. She missed mindlessly staring at the muggle cassette tapes she'd been gifted. She missed lightly chastising her younger brothers on their form after they'd fling a knife in her direction. She missed the sound of her brother's various rants echoing throughout the darkest depths of the dungeon.

She missed home.

It was only natural, of course—she reasoned with herself. The girl had not left her family home since her birth. She hadn't felt the need. Unforutunately, the reassurance did nothing to ease the ache. In fact, the disturbed feeling began to transform into an unsightly bitter emotion. What could the outside world offer her that wasn't already gifted to her on a silver platter at home? Nothing. The answer was absolutely nothing, despite what her youngest brother may protest. So, what was her reason for being here?

There was no reason! She shouldn't be here! She should be at home honing in on her craft, whatever it was. She should be at home discovering it!

Swiftly moving, fingers began to impulsively rip the letter to shreds—clear ripping sounds soon filling the owlery. The pieces of parchment fluttered in the air, gradually spiraling towards the ground. A heeled boot would relentlessly strike down on the parchment, jumbling it with the straw strewn across the floor. Her facial expression would not falter from its monotone appearance as the letter was aggressively ripped apart.

Straightening herself, Hana peered down at the remnants of her not-so beloved letter. "Hm, that is quite a bother," her flat voice rang out, seemingly unbothered by the fact she'd just torn ten pages of her own writing.

Note: Please don't mind formatting, still trying to figure out what works best for me! Next response will be better^^

Burdensome, the word alone would be rather inadequate if Meiyu needed a descriptor as to how the persistent letter writing had become. Initially, writing home had become a form of much needed outlet from the terrors of the melancholy castle, ranging from the peers she clashed with to the trolls who freely roamed the fortresses interior. Winter break had only worsened matters, prompting her mother to only encourage much more frequent letters to be sent despite Meiyu eventually sending anything back, few weeks at a time. Unfortunately for Meiyu, her mother's inappropriate manipulation which came in the form of battered eyelashes and a threat to involve her father in the matter.

It came no surprise that the letter she had written was short with its contents, merely outlaying how classes went and that she had a good time hanging with her friends. Lies, of course. At night, Meiyu would dwell on how she truly had nobody to turn to, the coup staged against here by her grandmother over the break had only worsened her social status — one she never knew to exist to begin with. Despite the hardship that came with having hideous creatures in her vicinity, Meiyu's return to Hogwarts had been enjoyable; liberating, if a young lady would dare to say. Free from the wraths of scolding for hiding away in her room, staring blankly at rain drops trailing down her window.

Supporting a rather large grey knitted jumper paired with a plaid grey skirt and black tights in mere hope it would shield her from the highland weather, her footsteps almost sounded melodic; which the little lioness accredited to her black boots of choice. As she ascended up the stone tiles, the once alluring melody immediately morphed into one of such intrusion; the sound forcing Meiyu to grimace in response. The Owlery was likely to be quieter, given the necessity to write home had subsided with the students' return just two weeks ago.

Wrong.

Gently pushing past the heavy wooden doors leading into the Owlery, Meiyu was faced with a figure amidst what appeared a tantrum. Arriving in mere time to witness the act of the mysterious figure, adorned with an all-black outfit and equipped with midnight blue hair twirled into two long pigtails. For a moment, Meiyu believed to have walked in on her future self, the resemblance arguably uncanny — minus the pigments in her hair, of course. Frozen between the agape door, she merely observed, basking in the silent atmosphere only broken by the figure tearing apart a few pieces of parchment. It felt like a trance, forcing her to fixate on all movements, the few parchment spiralling appearing much more slowed than it did with real time.

Meiyu's intrigue overtook any, or by this point, the lack of, rationale which remained within her. Pushing herself further into the tower, making a mental note to send the poorly written letter out. "You appear... bothered?" She spoke softly, cautious not to startle the figure with her sudden intrusion, welcoming her beloved stoic expression that masked her intrigue in the girl. Trailing her gaze around the room, ensuring their privacy would not be compromised prior to moving towards the owl Meiyu typically used to send her letters.

Opting not to make eye contact with the figure, primarily given the more significant task at hand, Meiyu slowly extended her hand to pet the owl, its grey almost black feathers appearing more beautiful on this day, accredited with the dip in temperature hinting at snowfall. Petting the creature once more, she blinked slowly as the owl made it's ascend to Oxford, no doubt the owl would return in the matter of a day or two. Sighing contently with the gruesome task out of the way, Meiyu's gaze remained on the owl who swiftly flew further and further away; almost blending in with the contours of the dark green hues of the trees surround the castle.

Various pieces of parchment had nestled their way into Hana's wig and clothing during the small temper tantrum, posing as faux snow to decorate her person. Another slow huff was exhaled through her nose before the Slytherin took a step back, collecting her thoughts. The animalistic urge to tear through everything within reach with her bare teeth had finally satiated. Unfortunately, this meant the rest of the Slytherin's day was to be spent rewriting the entirety of her letter to avoid the unfortunate event of receiving a Howler from her burden of a brother.

Burden of a brother... hm. A humorous use of alliteration.

Humor aside, this was still quite an unfavorable way to end the day.

She promptly swiped a hand along the edge of her skirt, ridding it of any parchment scraps that had landed on the poofy garment.

"You appear... bothered?"

"Hm?" Wide, unblinking, eyes flickered towards the new presence, quietly observing as she stepped towards a grey barn owl. Though one might expect Hana to feel some shame from being caught in such a state, in actuality, she didn't find herself caring all that much. Her father taught her that despite her monotone disposition, expressing emotions was still a vital part of the human experience. If not through her face, then through her body. It brought her solace to know if said man were present, he'd gently run his hands through her hair, applauding her for her "extremely remarkable expression of emotion."

Unknowingly, she sighed once more. It appears that homesickness is still a lingering feeling in the back of her mind.

She continued to watch the girl, ready to gauge any sort of reaction from her besides the question posed minutes prior. None came. It appears it's Hana's turn to continue to conversation. Social cues were truly a baffling subject to navigate—at times, she wished everyone were as forthcoming as her father.

Hana waited for the girl to face her in order to issue a proper greeting, but alas, she kept her eyes trained on the departing creature. A complication easily fixed. The basilisk chased her eyeline, bending down slightly to ensure dark brown eyes met her own. "Surely, you must be aware it is quite rude to refuse eye contact when addressing someone," she lightly chastised, fur-clad hands clasping behind her back.

"Hello there." Her eyes slowly trailed the girl's figure, taking a moment longer to linger on her burgundy hair, "Your hair is very beautiful. It reminds me of the color of the dried up bloodstains that wonderfully decorate the carpets of my family home. While not as potent of a color as a fresh bloodstain, I consider it equally as beautiful." Despite obvious differences in appearance—being race, hair, height, attire, and overall appearance—there was one similarity that immediately stood out to the eldest Bakir: her facial expression. It appears the girl possesses the same uncanny inability to move the muscles on her face.

She blinked curiously, feeling a teether pulling her towards the girl. Hm? How intriguing. A new emotion seemed to take center stage as Hana continued to stare. Surely, attraction couldn't possibly be the driving force of these emotions? No, attraction felt different... and Hana had never felt attraction towards another female before. Though as it stands, the Bakir daughter's list of attractions is extremely limited—comprised solely of a certain demon-blooded muggle.

She was attractive though, Hana could admit as much. So, perhaps it possibly was attraction? No, fascination felt like a more suitable term?

"I feel some sort of emotional teether towards you, do you usually have this effect on people?" She asked, tilting her head slightly.

She blinked, continuing on to speak before the girl could answer any of her previous statements or questions. "Hm, I suppose I must apologize for the unfortunate state you've caught me in. It seems I'm in a strange mood today, but my father says I have a penchant for the dramatics. So, I presume this isn't out of character for me." She paused, "It appears I'm missing home more than I initially led myself to believe. Do you also experience these sort of feelings?"

"You may refer to me as Hana. What shall I call you?"

OOC note: Sorry it took so long to reply to this! But inspiration finally struck and I figured out how I wanted Hana to reply <3

Glaring in admiration as the owl flew away, descending on its journey to Oxford, where her family resides; anxiously anticipating the response, Meiyu sighed in relief with the completion of the task that had quickly grown tedious. Swiftly appearing that the young lioness evidently, was not the only one exhibiting signs of some discomfort, noted by the sigh her hearing caught, urging her to turn and finally make eye contact with the stranger — who evidently, had other ideas, somehow finding her gaze and almost uncomfortably forcing Meiyu to take a singular step back. Rarely, she was met with bold figures who dared to question her behaviour, yet, as Meiyu took a brief moment to observe the young girl, the attire she supported alone served enough to conclude that girl was odd. Had it not been the strange, yet, alluring attire, the un-natural blue hues in her hair would evidence her claim.

"You must be mistaken," she began hesitantly, her gaze moving to her fur-clad hands, partially intrigued by the choice in attire once more, though, inadmissible given the dip in temperature with the Arctic air hitting the Highlands first, embracing the Northern region almost beautifully had the skies graced the grounds with thick snow. The high altitude often serving a more cleaner breath of fresh air contrary to the typically polluted airs of Oxfordshire since the invention of Muggle methods of transport, Meiyu's mind almost enticed in thoughts surrounding said methods, partially to detach herself from the situation she had found herself in. The mere thought forced her to shake her head gently, inadvertently urging mind to not wander off once more, as it enjoyed doing so these days.

"A passing comment made towards a tantrum, in public, might I add... was not a form of address, besides, I was evidently preoccupied." She hummed with rebuttal, her tone laced with distaste at the sudden accusation, rude being the least accurate descriptor of the young girl, in her mind at least.

Embracing the brief silence that followed, her face immediately scowled at the comparison to blood, the colour of her hair unknowingly being a foreshadow for future events, more notably, what happened over the winter break. Though, the reference was beautiful, the odd girl's choice of words lulled Meiyu almost into a trance-like dream state, paired with the banging voice that had partially subsidised, she couldn't help how her heart rate increased at the alluring comparison, albeit, a traumatic reminder of how she had failed to conceal her nature. Typically, Meiyu firmly believed that despite her off-putting personality, she was a good person — often finding fascination in peculiar things, despite feeling no remorse for what she had done, concerning herself more with an internal conflict on human nature, the phrase "equally as beautiful" echoed in her mind, her lips instinctively twitching and curving into a small smile at such a high praise.

As her lips parted to formulate a response worthy of such praise, Meiyu's brows furrowed in confusion as newfound silence took its place, yet, the air evidently shifting — it was no longer one of intrusion, an odd emotion clouding the Owlery, noting the girl was staring once more. Was this how many felt when she glared? Surely not. "Why are you staring at me?" She shot back with an accusatory tone, her mind bewildered with the shift in adoration towards the stranger to a sense of heightened emotions; did she know? The plague finding the perfect opportunity to resume the previously halted attacks it had made on its host, almost basking at the opportunity to cause yet another hinderance.

Shockingly met with a confession of some sorts, arguably the first, her mind once more returned to a dazed state, the persistent shift in emotions being enough to warrant Meiyu to run away and spare the odd girl from unfortunate events to come. "Oddly, I have the opposite effect, though, I do not understand why. However, I must admit I feel a gravitational pull towards you, you align perfectly with the vision I have to change the world." She cooed once the girl, who introduced herself as Hana, had concluded, nodding firmly as she took the opportunity to fixate on her features. Surely she was not a Slytherin, she could not be — not with how trolls occupied the dungeons, it was immoral for such beauty to reside down there, hidden away from her.

"You must never apologise for the state you are in, forgive me, for I am not well, I appear to be plagued at most times in fragments. Though, I must admit, I used to experience those feelings of melancholy, the introduction of the plague spared me of it all, therefore, I am free, content, living with my vices." She blurted, carefully outlining the image to her newfound warrior, a beautiful knight who looked nothing like the illustrated images found in romance tales. "Hana," Meiyu resumed, the name perfectly leaving the tip of her tongue, it was all too perfect.

"You may call me Meiyu, but, I must ask you this," she continued, stepping closer to the girl, her hand raising slowly to gently feel the blue hues of her hair tips, only for her brows to furrow in a mixture of confusion and dislike. The texture of the hair was odd, unlike her own hair which felt smoother in comparison, displeasure almost evident with her expression at how Meiyu's emotions toyed with her as though she was a marionette doll.

"Do you believe that one day, we could decorate the fortress interior with crimson, like my hair?"

xxxxThe Bakir daughter was never one to w
hold her tongue, never one to take her own words into consideration before speaking them aloud. It was an attribute that gained her the highest of praises from both Mother and Father dearest, only encouraging the habit to worsen; consequently, her veracity was something she took great pride in—never swayed by the judgement passed by others.

May she face the most sanguinary of executions before suppressing her truths from the world, for it was simply not of her nature.

She felt the need to share her truth to the girl who stood before her: she was a creature that intrigued her, that pulled Hana in before she had a true understanding of why. Moreover, it seemed her homesickness seemed to lessen slightly during the infancy of their interaction—a feeling that Hana was admittedly clinging to dearly. She would rather think about anything else than how much she missed home.

Though, Hana would never think her words would have this sort of effect on her. Wide eyes stay trained on the girl's face, mostly in appreciation—rather than in any futile attempt to understand her visage. It was a simple look of interest, yet it had the girl barking back defensively. She offered a slow blink in response, eyes refusing to stray away from the object of her strange fascination. It were as though some otherworldly being was forcefully guiding her head to keep focus on her; perhaps a ghost... Hana will have to exterminate such a threat at a later date. Tilting her head inquisitively, she listened curiously as her tone of voice faded from that of adoration, to hesitance, before returning to adoration once more. It seemed her praises had placated the rising animosity coming from the smaller girl—unknowingly, yet successfully, striking a strange balance between her contrasting facial expression and words.

"Opposite effect? I believe you are making a futile attempt at a jest. You are not as funny as my eldest brother, who I believe should be dressed as a clown and shipped off to the nearest carnival. But, I digress."

"It seems the world struggles to perceive you as I do now," Hana proclaimed bluntly, as if her words were fact. Taking her chin in her grasp, clasping it betwixt her pointer finger and thumb, she forced the redhead to meet her eyeline. "Though we have met merely moments prior, your face is reminiscent of the creatures that simultaneously haunt my dreams and grace my nightmares. A gratifying creature, such as yourself, mustn't feel constrained by the deathly gripes of society. One who uplifts those based on an arbitrary scale we are all forced to abide by, while demeaning those who simply do not fit the binary."

With her face now within Hana's claws, she took a moment to conduct her own observation; she didn't seem to be ill and she told her as much: "You don't seem ill." Truly, she didn't. Her next words seemed to perplex Hana even more, "You seem to be contradicting yourself—feelings of freedom can't be equated to a plague. I implore you to enlighten me, for I would like to delve deep into the intricacies that make up your psyche."

"You may call me Meiyu, but, I must ask you this... Do you believe that one day, we could decorate the fortress interior with crimson, like my hair?"

As if a shot of adrenaline had been shot directly into her bloodstream, the slightest implication of violence had Hana's heart racing. Certainly, that was what she meant. It was a promising idea—one that would have her parents smiling down at her proudly. A feat that would finally allow her to earn her place amongst her kin. An eradicator only rival to that of Sam Winchester. The corner of still lips spread, revealing sharp fangs to Meiyu, and eventually a smile that were more akin to a grimace. Dull eyes alit with the most fervent fire, a stark contrast to the listless expression prior. "Yes," she responded, dilating eyes continuing to remain fixed on Meiyu, "Yes. we must rid the world of all those unworthy—of the morbid creatures that tread dare the same plane of existence as you and me. Let us do it with fire, or I shall charge into battle fiercly with my bow and arrow. I have curiously been experimenting with my weaponry to allow for a more sufficient way of extermination."
