Hans Jenssen (@Archer Duncan)
giving in to the love, the love, the love, the love

Hans smiled and blushed slightly as he greeted Astrid back. "You look great." Smiling back, the girl replied "Thank you! Love your suit, the colour is really fitting the occasion." The red suit was perfect for a Valentine's tea party. And the boy objectively looked nice in it. Why didn't she think of wearing red? She had red dresses... whatever, she had the whole week to wear them. Today, she'd stay with her handmade slash thrifted slash stolen from her mother's wardrobe outfit.
Stirring her tea, Astrid nodded vigorously to Hans' comment on the food. "This is so true. Like, French food? The love of my life. English food is okay, at best. But this?" She took that raspberry macaron and took a bite, before continuing "This is the epitome of flavour. Ok, no, these German-Alsatian bredele things might be better." The memory of the little biscuit box Viktoria had sent her during her stop in Strasbourg flashing back in her mind.
The boy didn't seem convinced by the macaron. Hans said, laughing, "I don't regret not having eaten these for most of my life." Astrid dramatically put her hand over her heart, as if she was hurt by his words. "How? This is literally sugar and almonds, in other words : gustative heaven. Isn't the stollen German? That's super sweet as well." She took a sip of her tea, just hot and sugared enough. The sweet tooth that she was was really judging the boy in front of her.

Gideon's tone was light, joking, but his eyes glinted with something darker as he spoke of his cabinmates. There were of course his brothers, her cousins. Then there were a few ladies, one being Mathias' fiance Winnie Harper. While Taylor had met Winnie briefly in the hospital, she was being visited by a man that was certainly not her cousin.

Gideon reached up to brush an imaginary speck of dust off her shoulder, the touch more intimate than it should have been. "You look lovely, as always," he commented as he entered the grand space that the tea party was being held in. "Though I’d have dragged you out here even if you didn’t. You know I can’t survive without my favorite cousin."

Gideon's arm still looped through hers, he steered her toward the edge of the room where the crowd was thinner and he could get a better view of their surroundings and potential victims. "So, what shall we do today, Taylor? The tea party is our playground. I was thinking we could start with a bit of people-watching. Maybe pick out a few victims—oh, I mean subjects—for our amusement. There’s this couple over there who look ripe for a little chaos."

He laughed, the sound bright and genuine. For a moment, he almost seemed like an ordinary boy enjoying an ordinary day with his cousin if it was not for his insistence to be physically attached to her. But the smile that lingered on his lips was sharp enough to draw blood.

As they walked, Gideon’s thoughts churned. He didn’t just want to spend time with Taylor—he wanted to possess her, to mold her, to make her see the world the way he did. He wanted to see her laugh at someone else’s pain, to watch her smile as she caused it. She was already so perfect, but he could make her better. And if she resisted? Well, he’d find a way to convince her. Pain was an excellent teacher.

For now, though, he was content to play the part of the doting cousin. After all, the best plans required patience. And Gideon Athanatos had patience in spades.

Taylor would arrive arm in arm with Gideon Athanatos. Taylor was not dressed as brightly as many of the other girls. Wearing a simple black lace dress that ended just above her knees. She regretted wearing something that did not end at her ankles, the long walk through the gardens in February was regrettable with bare legs. Not that she was unaccustomed to the cold, she was just better covered in Koldovstoretz.

The school appeared to be in a transitionary period, creature comforts were sometimes a privilege more than an expectation. She had forgotten in such an affluent setting that the weather was still cold, even if more temperate. Still, she was all smiles when she entered the room. She felt safe next to Giddy, as odd as he could be, he was harmless enough. The anxiety of being someplace new among so many strangers melted away.

She looked up at Gideon, her dashing cousin. Indeed, his foppish attire might seem laughable to some, but it was the height of pureblooded fashion. She looked down at her simple dress and frowned. She looked like one of them halfbloods she internally lamented, but it would not weigh down her day or her experience when she spied the pastries. She ignored his assessment of potential victims of chaos, her gaze was intent on the sweets being offered.

Taylor had an intense sweet tooth and she would start to drag Gideon towards the buffet table, pulling his away from his strategic vantage point with a sort of silent intensity a sugar fiend could only accomplish. She would find the macrons, the bright colors gave her joy and she would collect a handful of them and hum happily. "Giddy" pronounced Gee-dee with her heavy accent. "Do you want?" She did not wait for an answer as she attempted to cram a sage green macron into his mouth.

Linda was surprised at the relief of Maria. Perhaps she was more comfortable this way? Taking a moment to hear Aamon and Maria, she thought it was justified. That's fascinating, Maria. Linda glanced at Aamon and continued with a soft voice. Your kimono looks beautiful. Do you think I would look good in something like this? You are Japanese, right? I think I saw people wearing this type of clothes there, though I might be wrong.

She smiled, imagining trying to wear kimono. Would it be disrespectful? She hoped no. I think you are not far from truth, Aamon. Most probably you will find someone whose English is not that good here. Better to be prepared. She smiled warmly, without any feeling of pitying or laughing at him. Drawing could be quite fascinating when trying to communicate. She spoke thoughtfully. Linda could draw quite well, but how one was supposed to draw words? It certainly would require more time and effort.

Remembering about his question, Linda looked at him again. By these things what is it exactly that you mean? Curious. She was curious. And she still didn't ask anything about school where these guys and girl were going to. However, this was not a question she was planning to ask.

Linda seemed to feel equally comfortable talking to Aamon and Maria. It was going good so far and she still didn't drink her tea. Too distracted by her thoughts and the new company she was with at the moment.

Aamon Athanatos. Athanatos. If Linda paid more attention to school life and news, perhaps she could connect him to Athanatos family. But she didn't and so she knew nothing about the boy sitting near her. Perhaps it was a good thing as she could now discover something about him without having any presumptions. Maria, the girl looked quite intriguing. Her kimono and her speech were leaving Linda guessing from where the girl was.

Luggages discarded in her cabin and cabin-mates all properly met (won't provide much detail as the thread is still in process) Sabrina took a stroll through the gardens with a clear goal set in mind. Immediately she was captivated with a huge statue of an oversized bronze pegasus - not to be confused with abraxans, tha majestic winged horses which the school was known for raising. Sabrina had all intentions to sneak away and find them, but not now. Now, it was time for a tea party with a wide range of such sweet treats to make her stomach ache for the whole trip long.

Tearing her eyes away from the monumental art she proceeded on her way. It took a ridiculous amount of willpower not to stop at every shifting bush or decorated tree, but alas, Sabrina made it to the dining hall.

The room buzzed with chatter in all languages, woven with the soft hum of live music. Tables upon tables were filled with pasteries and beverages of all kinds and forms. Coming to a halt, Sabrina looked up, standing on her toes to see over the heads of students from all around the world occupying many of said tables. Among those, she searched for familiar traits. Her eyes flickered over the crowded room, pausing on each smaller redhead or girl similiar to a certain Griffindor friend, but most of all - without even realising it - looking for a flash of blue streaked hair. Coming up short, her disapointment was short lived when she spotted an unexpected familiar figure - a slightly older boy with raven black hair: "Mateo!" she called out whilst making her way over to the table where her friend sat, noting that he was in the company of two other girls "Merlin- Hi! I totally didn't expect to see you here, how have you been?" she said cheerfully, giving him a quick one-armed hug from behind before sliping into the chair next to him.

Eyes now fixed on the two soon to not be strangers, she offered a handshake to the blonde "Hi, I am Sabrina, Sabrina Lyons, Brie for short. Don't think we've met yet- sorry for interupting, I was just so glad to see a familiar face. Nice to meet you both" regarthless of if Pamela accepted the handshake or not, Sabrina offered one to Avery as well before popping one of the star shaped pieces of chocolate into her mouth - which just might have been the greatest thing she had tasted in her life - and folding her arms on the table, smile wide and bright.

After the polite bow he offered to the girl, Harvey would catch a figure out of the corner of his eye. His lips would curl into a pleasant grin as he returned the nod towards Meyra. Though it had been months ago, he was still quite fond of the memory of their interaction. Even if the moment was full of heated emotion and quite a bit of yelling it had left him knowing that despite whatever flaws people may see in his beliefs, that there were people he may one day ally with. That he was not the only one going through the unique experience that came with Harvey's heritage. Now was not the time to speak again, but he made a mental note to catch up with her soon.

The thought would be broken by the presence of another as Linda Ramirez joined their table and introduced herself. Harvey offered another courteous bow of his head as Aamon took care of the introductions. His abnormally large hand would give a welcoming gesture to the seats around them. Harvey's dark, beady eyes would give her a quick once over. He appreciated her simple garments as the refined tastes matched his own simple, but elegant style. Yet he did note the fine silver that adorned her neck and hand. Perhaps a meaningful connection was to be made.

Harvey's gaze would return to Aamon as the gears in the other boy's mind slowly began to churn. His expression seemed slightly nervous and there also seemed to be very little behind those unique eyes. Usually qualities that would leave Harvey quick to denounce any need for acquaintance, but the family name that was attached to him kept the boy holding on a little longer. "I wouldn't be so quick to call it a struggle, Aamon." He did not want to be lumped into that as he was determined to make meaningful connections at this event. "A unique challenge perhaps." Harvey offered a much more diplomatic explanation for it all. "A tea party?" The part-goblin asked with another lackluster glance towards Aamon. Though magic and even different humanoid genes flowed through their blood, they were still from England were they not? "If you mean an event like this on the international level, no this is my first time abroad."

Harvey's eyes would flash towards Maria. Perhaps this was just the kind of international connection he was looking for. Affluent witches and wizards from around the world converging to make all the better of their widespread society....TWATS. Harvey's demeanor would visibly slump. Perhaps they were on the struggle bus after all! To think he had come all this way just to be insulted for no other reason than introducing himself. He had come to her defense when Aamon had blundered, he had offered the courteous bow just like grandfather instructed, fortunately Linda's newcomer presence would provide a moment before Harvey's sharp tongue could lash back. "A pleasure, Maria." His tone as dry as the Sahara.

Again Harvey's eyes would roll back to Aamon. Spanish or Italian?! They were not attending the event with people from either nation. However, with a name like her he could see why Aamon made the assumption. "Beautiful." Somehow the other boy struggled with even a stick figure, though Harvey shouldn't be too judgmental. He himself had no artistic talent to speak of, but sometimes the lad couldn't help himself.

Fortunately for the group, Linda would ask the hard questions. Harvey was not the most worldly of goblins and though he could assume that Maria was from the far-east, it came as a relief that Linda just asked. He made note of the situation to see how it was received. "Oh, you have travelled to Japan? I'm jealous." Harvey did so hope to see the whole of the magical world one day. Again he noted Linda's ease navigating her way through a conversation that had taken an awkward turn. What an impressive person he thought to himself. "I was quite pleased when they announced this event. Isn't it such a great opportunity for us to meet our international peers?" Harvey asked in an attempt to try an reach Linda at her level.

Avis stepped quickly, not towards the Tea Party, but rather away from her cabin. She wasn't going, she was escaping.

By the time she made it to the great hall, however, her cabin had all but left her mind, filled by the grandeur of the dining hall. Oh the dining hall. Avis found herself reaching out to touch the ice sculptures lining the hall wondering in marvel, as the ice licked at her fingertips and froze the air around her; how the ice hadn't melted yet? Turning to the tables, Avis frowned at all the pink. So much pink. It made sense, being almost Valentine's Day and all, but it was a better fit for Winnie, not Avis. Gazing across the tables - definitely not looking for Sabrina - she caught sight of Aamon. Aamon was, well, not bleeding, not half dead, and seemed to have all of his limbs intact. So doing well then.

Moving her gaze past Aamon, her lips curled into a quick grin before she tampered it down as she caught sight of Sabrina. Thank goodness. Normality could exist in this crazy place. Forcing her feet to walk rather than bolt over to her, Avis wove her way through the tables, snagging a macaron from a half-filled table, and giving a quick sigh of relief as she noticed Matthew walking in with Nabi, looking no worse for wear.

Her pace quickening, Avis resisted the temptation to tackle-hug Sabrina. That would be awfully hypocritical of her, to stop Sabrina from hugging her then go up to her and hug her. Avis was just so excited to see her friend. Wait, what? No, she wasn't. Avis almost stomped her foot, frowning. She was most certainly totally without a doubt not excited to see Sabrina Lyons. She was just at a Tea Party, and it just so happened Sabina was there as well. Right?

Instead, she dramatically collapsed into a chair next to Sabina, offering polite nods to the other members of her table who she recognized but couldn't really place before pulling her satchel off her shoulder, hanging it on her chair, and turning her attention to Sabrina, voice quiet. "Who. Picked. These. Stupid. Cabinmates. Clearly someone who wanted to make us suffer." Shaking her head with exaggerated despair, she scanned the table, eyes narrowing in quiet calculation. Now… what was the best way to smuggle as many pastries as possible into her satchel?

Seeing the girl take his outstretched hand and shaking it, once the hand shake was over, Mateo let go of her hand and heard her speak. Hearing the girl say that her name is Pamela Graham, the first thought that came into his head is that her name is pretty, so he said,
"You have a beautiful name, Pamela. It suits you very well,"

Mateo then gave her his smile, the one that he shows whenever he thinks something or someone is beautiful. It's a smile that he doesn't usually show all the time, but today, he decided to use it.

Mateo looked at the chocolate table and was feeling pretty hungry, so he picked up a random sugary treat and popped it into his mouth. He then heard a familiar voice and a smile appeared on his face as soon as he saw Sabrina. He then said,
"Brie! I'm so glad to see you! I've been good? Yourself?"

Mateo then turned his attention back to Pamela when he heard her ask which school he was from. He then said,
"I'm from Mahoutokoro, the Japanese school,"

Mateo then saw another girl walking over to them who knew Sabrina. Mateo heard what she said and had a feeling that she didn't like her cabinmates so he said,
"I'm not entirely sure. Maybe the professors? I haven't met all my cabinmates yet, but the ones i've already met, I already know. Oh, I'm Mateo Yamamoto,"

Avery took Mateo's outstretched hand and shook it. She was excited to get to finally meet him in person after all of the letters they had exchanged back and forth the past couple weeks. It was nice to finally meet him here though instead of waiting until the Spring Ball. She really couldn't wait that long. Especially since they were going as friends to it.

"Nice to meet you, Brie, I'm Avery." Avery said as she shook Brie's hand.

Avery was having a lot of fun. Surprisingly, this tea party wasn't as boring as Avery was expecting. She couldn't wait to see who else she would get the chance to meet. Though, as hard as she looked, there was one person missing. Her cousin. Dylan. She wanted to ask around to see if anyone had seen him, but she knew the answer. He would've made himself known to her by now. Something must still be wrong at home.

Avery knew the family problems between her family and his were bad just because of her mom. Her mom probably had some silly excuse of why they wouldn't get to see each other. Avery really hoped her mom wouldn't find out about this trip. She would go into a panic and probably run out of the hospital just to drag her back to Hogwarts. She always acted like that. Especially when there was a risk of her meeting Dylan again. That's why she couldn't find out about what she had planned for the summer.

Hearing Dennis say that she could grab a seat, she smiled at him before sitting down. Tracey waved at Meyra even though she had already introduced herself to Meyra. Tracey then set her plate down on the table and was about to pick up a cookie before she heard Dennis continue speaking, asking her what her favorite treat was. Tracey had to think about it before saying,
"I'm honestly not sure. They all look so good! I'm pretty sure i'll be having a sugar rush after all of this, or might be in a sugar coma, but it's definitely worth it. It's not every day that we can eat these types of foods,"

Instead of picking up a cookie, she picked up an éclair and began munching on it. She loved the taste of it, and was definitely going to get some more. Tracey looked over when an older boy had come over to their table and she liked his hair color. Tracey smiled at him when Dennis had introduced her to him. Tracey couldn't help but notice Dennis' stuttering, but she didn't say anything about it and continued munching of her pile of snacks which she had taken from the table.
