When the Sun Starts to Dim
It took a few days for Sara to decide it was safe enough to leave his room. Pyre was a mess, and he was far too focused on himself that he had no time or energy to be paying attention to others. As far as he was concerned, as long as he looked alright and didn’t express how he felt about the fire in Hogsmeade, people would think everything was fine. It wasn’t until his talk with Yami that he recognized that either way, it was more detrimental to everyone - not just himself - that he tried to forget what happened. If he was having such a hard time keeping it all in, what about the rest?
He already had a few people he wanted to talk to after. The first one being Tone. When he could, Sara had brief glances at how the rest were doing. Miharu was.. Understandably quiet. But at the very least, he saw Tone occasionally being by her side and he seemed to be checking on her. Not that Sara knew enough to confirm what exactly they exchanged. Tone seemed to be Tone, except… there was a weird… consistency to his demeanor. At least from afar.
Sara had often internally compared Tone to something similar to a sun. They shine so brightly without a care in the world, and more importantly - they seem too far away. Different from Sara, who flinched away at any sudden attention on him. Sara would have figured they would never have worked out as decent friends, but like the sun, Tone was on the persistent side. And Sara appreciated each and every effort Tone placed in him.
Only now, the sun was a bit too bright. Another way he tried to put it is as if the sun’s dawn begins at midnight. After facing an event like that…how could they be so ..cheery? Sara didnt know what was being said, so he could be way off. But Sara knew that appearances tend to deceive easily. So Tone was the first person Sara wished to talk to.
As luck would have it, in a rare moment - he saw Tone, alone in a private corner of Hogwarts hallways. Momentarily taken aback by how.. Well he fitted the shadows around him. His heart began to race but he steadied himself and slowly walked towards them. “ Tone… hi...everything..okay?…” he said in the gentlest voice he could muster, not wanting to scare them.
