Continuation of "Gryffindor!!!" thread
Clarke sat at one of the scattered tables in the study room on the second floor. She liked it because there was nothing to distract her. There were even motivational quotes on the stone walls to keep her focused on her work. It was very quiet because no one else was in the room. Apparently, they liked the library better. That was fine with Clarke. She liked the quiet. After a full day of people, going to a place where no one bothered her, was like a refresher for Clarke. As an introvert, Clarke valued her quiet time. Not that she didn't enjoy being around people. In fact, she loved people. It was just that after a while, she got exhausted.

Clarke sat, reading Alice in Wonderland. She had found a few copies but chose the one in the best condition. She had never read the book before since it was a muggle book. She was just finished reading the chapter where Alice found the White Rabbit again and made her go fetch things for him.

Just as she turned the page to go to the next chapter, the study room door opened. Clarke lifted her head to look who it was.

In the end, no one is going to remember what you wore or what you did with your hair that day; they are going to remember how you made them feel.

Felix entered the study room, ready to start the day by reading a book called Lord of The Rings. It was peculiar for kids like him to read such a long book, but he enjoyed it otherwise. Although, he still reads it a bit slowly. When she saw Clarke, he waved at her excitedly and walked towards her. "Hey Clarke! Fancy seeing you here in the study room. I see you're reading Alice In Wonderland. It's a classic you know!"

Felix knows about the muggle life, especially since his mother is a muggle who taught her a lot about her heritage, traditions, and even routine. It was a different life compared to those living in the wizarding world. Everything's manually done, much to Felix's disapproval of it, he still finds it comforting to be doing things the way muggles do. It was simple yet magical, as he said. Even simple things that muggles do are magical to him. "You should try reading more muggle books. It has a different perspective on how they see life. Not all things are magic, well, they do make magic but through illusions. You know, misdirection or just fooling the viewers something like that" Felix said enthusiastically as he told her how muggles use magic.

It was Felix who entered the study room. He waved to her and she waved back with a smile. Clarke enjoyed Felix's presence. She looked forward to when they spent time together outside of classes. Felix always had something interesting to share with her. And with him, homework wasn't so bad.

"Hey Clarke! Fancy seeing you here in the study room. I see you're reading Alice In Wonderland. It's a classic you know!" he said as he walked over to her table.

"I don't know much about muggle books but this one is really interesting. Do you know any other good muggle books I could read?" she asked him. Clarke remembered that he was a half-blood and that he knew these kinds of things. As a wizard-born, Clarke wasn't familiar with the muggle world. She knew a few things because her brother had written to her while he was at Hogwarts himself and was taking the muggle studies, but beyond that, the muggle world was foreign to her. "Do you want to sit down? I see you have a book with you as well. What is it called - The Lord of the Rings?" she said peering at the book's title.

"Well, my friend, you're right in luck. What I have here is also a classic tale of warriors, dwarfs, orcs, and wizards!" Felix told Clarke excitedly about the book he was about to read. One of his favorite book series is Lord of the Rings, which is why he was enthusiastic on telling her about the books and of course, with the mention of wizards, he needed to explain the difference between the wizard in the Lord of the Rings book and the Wizarding World.

"You might be wondering the wizards here in Lord of the Rings. Wizards here have staff as their "wands" and they don't cast it like us, like with incantation and stuff. It's quite extraordinary if you ask me, using wandless magic of some sort. Plus, these wizards are immortal in a way. They can harmed or even killed, but they would get resurrect cause their big boss still have a mission for them. You'll learn that once you read this book."

Felix kept on telling about the book, the synopsis, themes, and other aspects that made the book fantastic. He's not sure if Clarke understood him, especially since she is a pureblood, but he was willing to tell the wonderful stories of Lord of the Rings. He was smiling and even acted like a complete nerd in front of her. "I'm sorry, I was just really happy to tell you about the story. I hope you're not overwhelmed with everything!"

Clarke saw that Felix was really excited to tell her about his book and that made her excited as well. If he said that the Lord of the Rings was a good book, she believed him. But once he told her all about it, even though it was a little confusing, she interested in it all the more. She was glad that Felix took the time to talk to her about it even though it was complicated and confusing. It was very nice of him.

"That sounds so cool," she said, as he finished explaining. "After I finish reading Alice in Wonderland, I will start the Lord of the Rings."

Clarke didn't know what else to say at that moment. Then she realized that she didn't know much about Felix and Felix didn't know much about her. She tried to find a way to ask him about himself. Finally, she spoke again. "We don't know very much about each other. Do you want to tell me about yourself and what your favourite colour, memory, and other things are? Then I can tell you about myself afterwards."

Eager to learn more about him, she waited patiently while he figured out what to say in reply.

"That sounds fun to have a mixture of muggle and wizard in your house! Unlike your household though, mine is all magic. My parents are both ministry workers. Pretty high up there. My brother started in the ministry this year. He just left Hogwarts. We live in Dublin, Ireland. I used to go on hikes with my brother and my friends in the mountains. They are so beautiful! We would also camp up there and sometimes we got rained out. Tripp, my brother, is the best. We do so many things together. My parents, on the other hand, well, let's just say I'm not as close with them as I am with Tripp. But that's understandable, they are always busy doing ministry stuff, and when they get a day off, they are too tired from the previous day's work that they don't want to do anything with me." Clarke tried, nonchalantly, to justify why they weren't close, she didn't want Felix to think that something was wrong with her family.

"Hey, do you want to do something sometime together? Maybe flying in our spare time? I haven't been able to try it out yet since I couldn't seem to get one of the school brooms to work when we had flying class. Have you ever flown before?"

“Flying? I’m down for it! Just flying, okay? I suck at Quidditch. Tried once, ended up falling and scraping myself after trying to do a sharp left turn. Was it that bad? Yes. Did I enjoy it? Of course but I would be fooling myself if I tried again. Probably in the future i’ll try quidditch.” Felix said as he recalled his funny injury with Quidditch. He loved watching it but he is too embarrassed in trying it again but he would consider it in the future.

Felix listened attentively to Clarke’s story about his family. He would nod his head and smile at her while she’s telling her stories. He would always want to show to them how much of a listener he was through non-verbal actions. He always believed that listening can also be exhibited through non-verbal actions, that’s why he focused his attention towards her. “You know, you should try pranking them or just spend time with your parents even if they are tired. Parents do love the sound of their kids missing them. Believe me, it’s true” he winked at her. “So, when are we going to fly? I’m down any time! As long as there’s no homework!”

"I don't think that's true about my parents. We have nothing in common. We don't even look alike. Whatever, it doesn't matter, I shouldn't bore you with my home troubles," Clarke replied. "Do you want to go flying this Saturday afternoon? I don't have a broom of my own, do you? I just use one of the school brooms, I just as a teacher for one. I think homework for me has settled down a bit. I should be able to get it done on Saturday morning."

Clarke was excited to go flying with Felix. Secretly, she thought it would be funny to watch Felix try playing Quidditch again, but he seemed pretty embarrassed by the incident so she would never ask him to play Quidditch unless he wanted to himself. Clarke herself, because she couldn't even fly a broom, had never played Quidditch. She liked watching it though. She and Tripp had always watched the World Cup when it came around. It was a tradition every year. They would pick up some of their favourite snacks and watch it on the tv in their living room. Sometimes her parents would watch it with them but it was something the siblings never failed to do. Clarke couldn't remember all the times they sat side by side on the couch, in a tense position waiting to see who would catch the Snitch first. It made Clarke smile.

"Well, see you Saturday. I should get to bed now. It was nice talking to you," she waved at Felix and set off towards the Gryffindor Tower.
