Jun walked into the great hall with his first year buddies. Well not buddies students actually. The Great hall was so big. He first thought that there wasn't a ceiling(he was very surprised when other students told him there was a ceiling). And the floating candles... He wanted to pull down the candles and touch them(Jun was a very practical child).

As he walked through the big tables, he saw the weird hat in front if the headmaster. It looked very old. And ripped and damaged. He didn't know what was waiting for him. Jun was about in the middle to try on the sorting hat. There were a lot of students looking upon the stage where the first year walk and waited their fate.

It was finally hus turn. He was sweating all over. He sat down and thought nothing. On the train, he thought his house will be Hufflepuff. However, the Sorting hat's verdict was "Slytherin!". He went down the stage dazed. He finally reached the table. Then, a voice called "Hi! Welcome to Slytherin!". He felt thankful to the girl that talked to him. She was little older then him. Not much, but a little. She seemed friendly and skilled on Hogwarts ways. He thought 'this is gonna be a crazy year'

Elisa wasn't usually a big fan of social interactions, but today felt special, different. Of course, it was the Sorting Ceremony, and Elisa felt the duty to appear warm and welcoming for Hogwarts' newest students. Therefore, putting aside her introversion, she attempted engaging a conversation with the new Slytherin boy sitting next to her.

"So... If I'm not mistaken, you're Jun Woo, is that so?" she asked, recalling the name the Sorting Hat had pronounced to the assembly of students and professors. "I'm Elisa", she continued, introducing herself, "Elisa Wagner, second year student in the House of Slytherin - as I assume you already know."

Meanwhile, the group of first years in the middle of the Great Hall was dissipating, and once the last ones were called the headmaster made his speech. Elisa listened attentively, then once the professor had finished talking she leaned slightly towards the boy next to her and whispered, "You'll see, it's amazing how the food just pops out of thin air - and mind you, the start of term feast is delicious!" In fact, the sumptuous dinner appeared on their plates just as Elisa finished talking. She heard a slight grumble in her stomach - yes I assume I am hungry... she thought, somewhat amused.

Elisa looked at Jun Woo, and said with a nod towards the food, "Let's get started, shouldn't we?"

Jun was desperate to make friends. He only thought about him in Hufflepuff. However, the Sorting hat seemed to see ambition and pride, cunning in him. He disagreed with the sorting hat. When he was distracted thinking about his fate with the house of Salazar Slytherin, a soft voice called to him. "Hi! Welcome to Slytherin!". He jumped at the voice. He turned suddenly, but the girl didn't seem startled.

Jun replied, "Thanks maybe I was destined to be Slytherin". The air was awkward, nevertheless, the girl kept building up the conversation. "So... If I'm not mistaken, you're Jun Woo, is that so?" the girl said. "Yeah I'm him..." He replied. Jun was careful with conversation. If he didn't make her a friend now, he'd never have any friends in house Slytherin. "I'm Elisa" she introduced herself. "Elisa Wagner, a second-year student in the House of Slytherin - as I assume you already know.". So Jun
introduced himself "Oh ok Elisa! I'm Jun Woo Park!".

The Sorting ceremony was just finished. All the friends he talked to in the Express were in other houses. Jun was disappointed. They all went to Hufflepuff. He stared longingly at the Hufflepuff table. "Haaaaah" he sighed.

Finally, the headmaster finished his speech about first years and stuff. Elisa whispered to him "You'll see, it's amazing how the food just pops out of thin air - and mind you, the start of term feast is delicious!". In the middle of his daydream about the food, the food popped up! "Whhaaagg" He yelled. But nobody seemed to notice. Now he was finished being startled, he finally paid attention to the food. It looked and smelled delicious. Elisa said before eating "Let's get started, shouldn't we?", "yeah let's go!" but it was muffled by the chicken leg in his mouth.

The second year girl saw two things at the same time - first, she hadn't been mistaken on the boy's name, which was fortunate enough since it prevented an awful amount of embarrassment; second, that the boy in question didn't seem thrilled to be sorted into Slytherin, judging by the tone of his voice. Elisa's supposition was confirmed when she saw Jun Woo stare longingly at the Hufflepuff table all while heaving a sigh. The young girl's heart softened at this sight - it made her remember only too much her own Sorting. An upperclassman had comforted her back then, now it was Elisa's turn to do the job.

After a slight moment of hesitation, Elisa said, "Jun Woo- you aren't that happy to be in Slytherin, are you?" She hoped she didn't sound accusing. "You know- exactly one year ago, I was shocked and devastated of my Sorting. I was not at all expecting to land in Slytherin. See, I was awfully prejudiced against this house back then - I thought that all Slytherins were doomed to become dark wizards. But of course, I quickly found out I was horribly wrong. Most people in Slytherin were quite nice, actually - or at least, not any meaner than those from the other houses. Personally, I think I was sorted into Slytherin because I have big ambitions - a quality of Slytherin. I didn't see that part of me back when I was sorted, but the Hat did. Jun Woo- the Sorting Hat never lies. No house is better or worse than another, just accept who you are, and in the future you'll probably think back and agree with the Hat's decision."

Elisa said all that with surprising gentleness and compassion. After all, she had felt exactly the same.
