Geneviève Caussade Beauxbatons

✧ HISTORY .

Geneviève Carys Caussade is a twelve year old pure blooded witch from the aristocratic and pureblood Caussade family. She is bold yet gentle, kind yet impatient. She wants what she wants, and she doesn’t like being told no. She doesn’t have much of a care for academics- but she exceeds when she is asked to do so. Geneviève is spoiled and vain but towards other people she is a kind and gentle soul. Her father, Baron Michael Aloïs Caussade, has raised her to believe that she is above muggles but not to be unkind to them. While the Caussade’s associate with muggles in limited forms,- their biggest form of revenue is still due to them as a tourist town.

The Caussade family runs the town of Yvoire, France.Yvoire is a beautiful town, nestled in the French Alps that during the summer, is a beautifully picturesque area where the well-to-do (and modern-muggle influencers) come to frolic. The Caussade family does not look down on Muggles per-se but they do tend to avoid them when given the chance. Baron Caussade makes it clear that there are to be no muggle employees in the household. Muggle items are allowed within reason- such as books and inventions such as cars. This is for appearances as the Caussade’s do actively partake in the happenings of their town.

Geneviève partakes in many activities to keep her well rounded. Above all, she is musically gifted and can often be found in her family's music room plucking out melodies on her harp or practicing piano. She practices ballet and her aspiration is to become a principle dancer with the Ballet de l'Opéra national de Paris. During the summer's she will travel across France to attend Ballet Intensives to focus and hone her skills as a dancer. She writes her own music and poetry, which she saves for performances at her parents Gala's and Balls. She is a firm believer in love and spends much of her free time daydreaming about the love she hopes to acquire one day. She is a hopeless romantic and loves to read about true love. Her older brothers- Édouard, Jean, and Raphael spend their days watching over her and keeping her out of trouble in lieu of their parents, who are often busy attending to their various responsibilities.. Her eldest brother, Édouard, is the heir to the Baron title, the land, and a good say of the Caussade fortune. Édouard is the sibling that Geneviève spends the majority of her time with. He tries to instill a love of education and worth as a witch in her but he has yet to succeed. There is quite a large age gap between her youngest brother and herself, being nearly six years. The Baron and his wife had been wanting a daughter but originally settled for three sons. When Geneviève was born however, they instantly devoted all their time to her, instilling the belief of love in her heart.

Geneviève’s mother (Penelope Lavinia Caussade nee Braum) however, later ran off with her lady-in-waiting to Moldova Spain- This did not bother her father in the slightest, who whenever asked for a comment on his wife’s recent elopement always responds with a happy laugh and the comment of- “Penelope loves lavender, our marriage was full of it.” Geneviève’s reaction was unexpected as she believed that her mother had finally found true love and therefore true happiness.

PERSONALITY.

Geneviève is a mix between a spoiled brat and a kind and generous person. She outwardly demonstrates the need to share her fortune with others, even if sometimes it seems to be simply for personal gain. She insists on getting her way and while she has grown out of full-blown tantrums- she can become increasingly whiny and irritable when she is told no. She is vain but not self-centered and takes great pride in showcasing other people when she believes they deserve it. Geneviève takes pleasure in making people and their lives "aesthetically" pleasing and comfortable, wanting to share her luck and wealth. Geneviève holds her name in very high regard and detests when people pronounce it in an anglicized way with "Jen-a-veev." When asked about her favorite bit of herself, her answer is her hair. Geneviève is an abominable daydreamer, often so focused and lost in her mind that she loses the sense of the world around her. She is often daydreaming about love- whether it is about people, places, or things, it is always about love. She believes it holds a real power over others and she wants to explore it as a concept and a lifestyle as she gets older. She is quite smart but chooses not to act upon it unless it benefits her. Having grown up with dance lessons and begrudging acrobatics classes, she has quite a stamina and agility aspect of her life. She
‘Geneviève is whip-smart and she knows it, she chooses not to use it. She speaks with her French accent as though she is slightly higher than everyone but she is never unkind unless she means it. She finds joy in life and wants to share it with everyone, regardless of her feelings for them.

LIKES AND DISLIKES

Likes
Geneviève loves anything pretty and shiny. She can be found collecting precious stones in her jewlery and even crystals (she has since obtained a subscription to a muggle crystal store.) She loves fashion, especially French haute couture and every year for her birthday she asks for tickets to the next big fashion show. She dances and most recently upgraded to a pre-professional level of training that she has been focused on upkeeping despite the school year being in session at the Academy. Other likes include; classical and popular music, traveling, fancy galas, good food, sharing French culture, French History, & the Roccoco period.


Dislikes
Geneviève detests when people don't pronounce her name correctly and she outwardly sneers when people pronounce it in an Anglican way. She prefers to avoid strenuous activity or anything that would cause her to break a sweat but she has been enrolled in dance and acrobatics lessons from a very young age. She doesn't enjoy studying for necessity and prefers to learn as she goes. She finds very little humor in the mockery of the French. Other dislikes include; messy activities, scary situations, insects, eggs, and buttercream icing.
