The Slytherin Table 2017 - 2018
Victoria thought as she continued finishing her meal, about what Wolf had said about her parents encountering prejudice based on blood status. Of course she had family members who believed pure-bloods were inherently better, she figured every pure-blood family had members like that, but she had only heard such talk from her much older relatives and wrote it off as just a remnant of a bygone era; it certainly wasn't something her parents ever talked about.Wolf Lykos wrote: Wolf shrugged at the mention of the blood thing being relevant or not still, "My parents dealt with that stuff when they were here so they told me to expect it. But I guess being a half blood is better then being muggle born from what my mum said at least." She smiled happily at Veronica, "Its no problem Veronica, but I don't think I'd have anywhere to run even if I wanted to." Wolf laughed softly as she grabbed a dinner roll and took a so of whatever kind of drink they were given. Maybe life here at Hogwarts won't be too horrible, heck, I've already made a handful of friends! Much more then I had before. Maybe I'll try to talk to some of the boys here next? Wolf inhaled slowly then exhaled with a smile, eating her nerves quickly, "But if the school has quit that kind of behavior, it's amazing and will make it such a more enjoyable experience for the next seven years."
She stretched, watching the other Slytherins interact with each other, they at least seemed friendly enough to get. "So why'd you come here, Veronica?" Great job, already asking about why your friend is here, hopefully it's something good that happened. Wolf glanced at her newfound friend not knowing what to expect.
Victoria giggled with the girl, glad Wolf didn't seem to mind her company, and took a large drink from her goblet, "I'm sure it will be a wonderful seven years, I'm so excited! I can't wait to see the common room and the dorms and my dorm-mates and the go to class and explore the castle." She shook her heard, she could go on and on but figured her new friend had got the idea.
Her friend's question surprised her a little, "oh I've always wanted to go to Hogwarts since both my parents attended. I plan on becoming a healer like my dad, I suspect that's why I'm in Slytherin. It's a pretty ambitious goal" she grinned. "Why did you come here?"

Wolf nodded, "I'm excited for everything myself. I can't wait to see the creatures and learn all sorts of things that I couldn't even dream of in the muggle world." She grabbed a bit more food to pile onto her now empty plate, "I came here to learn about everything my parents learned and did."Victoria Sutton wrote:Victoria thought as she continued finishing her meal, about what Wolf had said about her parents encountering prejudice based on blood status. She smiled and nodded at Veronica, "You've wanted to be a healer? That's really interesting, what... uh... exactly does a healer do? Do they just heal anyone that needs it? Oh! Like a doctor?" Wolf's genuine interest was starting to show, she's eager to learn anything about this new world that is set in front of her.
Shy, kind and unsure. Let's do this.

Alex would smile as he started to enjoy the subtle language of Dmitri and the sarcastic jabbing at each other. Mentally he was thinking of numerous replies which he could use to counter Dmitri's own statements, many of those being quite sarcastic in nature. He then decided on one decently good course of action. Drinking a small amount of pumpkin juice first so his throat wasn't quite dry. "It might be if I think people would act completely the same but it is standard human behavior which lets people act in a certain way. I might try to observe people by observing with the eyes whilst other might subconsciously so study how a persons personality is and how he or she acts in a certain situation."
Whilst doing this he would sit quite comfortably in his seat, not unnerved at what Dmitri was saying or at the very least he was not physically showing it. "and a smart person would not put him or herself in a situation in which he or she was ready to be bitten. But even if the snake takes out its own prey it also needs to watch out for those who hunt for it too. As such it might be better to hide at times to avoid the eyes of bigger prey or not to bite at all."
"and the tail of a snake could often be quite hard to hang on to or better not to hold at all often. As it is questionable whether a snake only uses you as bait or is waiting for you to let his eyes wander from him. Making the prey that much easier to take down" Alex would also raise an eyebrow as Dmitri suddenly pierced the chicken with his cutlery but except for that and a sly smile would not seem to react that much.

Memory is all we are. Moments and feelings, captured in amber, strung on filaments of reason. Take a man’s memories and you take all of him. Chip away a memory at a time and you destroy him as surely as if you hammered nail after nail through his skull

Abigail looked at the mass of conversations around her. Her blue eyes gleaming in the light. She was finally home. No one had seemed to notice her but she was okay with this. The conversation that caught her main attention was the duelling conversation. She pursed her lips as if she wanted to say something but decided against. She thought to when the sorting hat had placed her in Slytherin. That moment filled her with joy and happiness. She knew her dad was in slytherin and then he went on to become a death eater during the time Voldermort rose to power. Bringing her attention back to the duelling conversation she looked at the handsome boy. She didn't know many people in her house. In fact she didn't know anyone she was yet to make friends. 'I don't think you'd make much of a duellist' she blutered out. Quickly she placed her hands over mouth hoping no one had heard what she said. She buried her face in her hands. She had never been so embrassed. This was the reason why she never made friends. The reason why no one liked her. cause she always had to but into other peoples conversations

Kevin inwardly clicked his tongue at the refusal, but didn't take it to heart. After all, he was building a social circle...though some might argue it more of a budding think tank. Regardless it was without falsehood that he retained a warm smile at the rejection from the girl who introduced herself as Roxy Langley.
"Of course Miss Langley, I'm being sociable and trying to ensure people in my House don't embarrass themselves in class with some resources my family possesses." He waved a way the idea of bad blood while finishing, "I also look forward to meeting you again." The girl's departure forced him to refocus his attention on the boy who obnoxiously introduced himself as Dmitri. It wasn't exactly an interaction he found appealing.
"As I stated, this modest little thing is just meant to carry one through OWL content. So outside of just offering it to those in my House for their benefit- I've no concern about getting anything in exchange." From there his expression grew a little harder as he addressed the insult involved in addressing the book itself.
"In that regards it's rather foolish to expect an aid to replace entire textbooks. If you're searching for more, I must say you search poorly. Good business never begins with insults."

Elia marveled in wonder at the feast which was in front of her. She filled her plate with simple foods and grabbed her goblet. She reached for a pitcher and poured herself some Pumpkin Juice. She quietly sipped her juice and watched the ghosts float through the halls. They occasionally came up and talked to the children.
A cool draft passed behind her. Elia looked behind her.
"Hello deary! How are you enjoying the feast?" A soft voice asked. Elia nodded.
"Yes Ma'am. It's delicious." Elia stated. The ghost smiled. It was always nice to hear someone say they enjoyed the food.
"That's good." The ghost stated before leaving. Elia was alone again. Even at the crowded table she felt sad and awkward. 'I wonder why I wasn't put in Ravenclaw?' She thought to herself. What would her parents say? True her mother was American and went to Ilvermorny, but what would her father say?! He was an alumni of Ravenclaw.
She looked across the hall at her sister, who smiled weakly before turning away. Elia sighed and looked up and down the table. Everyone seemed to be making friends and chit chatting away. Elia ate her food along with all the other first years, before dessert appeared. Elia stared at it longingly, but she couldn't eat any. They where all milk based foods and she couldn't eat.

Victoria took the last bite of her food before looking back over to Wolf, "I'm looking forward to the magical creatures too, I'm also excited to try potions and charms!" She started survey the desserts that had started appearing on the table and decided to try one of everything that was Chocolate, "honestly, if they feed us like this everyday I may never want to go home." She started munching on her sweets before turning back to her friend.Wolf Lykos wrote: Wolf nodded, "I'm excited for everything myself. She smiled widely at Wolf's question, "yeah, healers are like Muggle doctors, but with more magical cures and illnesses. My dad's one of the best," somehow her smile grew even wider. "He works at a hospital back home most of the time, but sometimes he'll travel if people need him elsewhere. He's even been invited to a few quidditch games to take care of any injures, which is awesome because then he gets to watch the match for free!" She paused for a much needed breath, "I hope to be a healer like him eventually, and probably work in a hospital someday. Do you know what you want to do?"

With a quick scan of the Slytherin table, Kayleena chose an empty seat to place herself in. She scanned the offered food before picking out a few things to eat, giving herself time to focus a little. Once settled in, Kayleena observed the students around her with interest, not going out if her way to start any conversations just yet. She was never good at small talk, something she had always tried to work on, which generally led to her being a more reserved onlooker more than anything. With a quiet sigh to herself and a quick promise to write a letter to her mother, Kayleena went back to her meal.

Ada still couldn't believe she was the first in three generations of people in her family not to get sorted into Ravenclaw. She refused to accept it, but even so, rules were rules and as much as she wanted to sit at the table with the Ravenclaws, she resignedly placed herself on an empty seat at the Slytherin table. She tried to peek at the other people seated at the same table as her. They seemed like normal people - not at all scary nor cunning, the way her family would often describe them to be. They were laughing, smiling and cracking joke with each other. Looking around some more, she noticed this blonde girl with these amazing blue eyes, quietly eating next to her. She didn't look like she was up for a meaningless dinner conversation. 'I'm sure she actually wanted to end up in here...' Again, she was reminded how much she resented herself for not making it into the House of her dreams. She envied everyone at the table. They got to be in the House they always dreamed of, but in her case, she got into a House she never even thought of. Gryffindor? Why not? Hufflepuff? Maybe, yeah. They seemed like nice lads, but Slytherin? Never.
" Sooo...Are you happy with the Sorting Hat's choice?" As soon as she said the words, she realized what she has just said ' Gosh! What kind of a conversation starter is this? Just as well, I could have asked her if her grandmother is dead or not. Now I'm starting to regret that I prefered to spend my free time with my grandfather's books instead of people'
And as if that wasn't enough, she just became aware of her english accent and her poor grammar and vocabulary. Afterall, she has been raised in Romania for the last 11 years, with only a few weekends spent in England with her parents.

The Slytherin Table 2017 - 2018
Jane was very happy to be in Slytherin. But she did not make such a grand entrance by screaming, or jumping excitedly, or acting like an obnoxious little child. All Jane did was walk over and sat down at a completely random open seat. She kind of felt worried that some people would recognize her for looking like her famous mom (was a singer but died) or for being in her fathers' commercials. It did not make sends to her that her dad had two jobs, one in the ministry and one in the muggle world. Maybe that was another reason why they where still very rich... Jane let go of those thoughts and pages attention to what was happening now. She took out a book called "Secrets of the Darkest Art" by Owle Bullock. It did seem like an interesting book to her. She smiled as she thought of how she got the book. All she did was break a wall in the basement and find an old library full of 'magical' books, unlike the one in the first floor that is full of muggle books. She even found a lot of money in that room too... Jane knew she was going to like Slytherin, she her got told about magic, she had to find put herself. By now she knew a lot -or well, everything she needed to know so far-...
"I'm so bored!"
