Once in a blue moon
Nervously Béatrice thrust the cups infront of her aside with the tip of her finger, only to put it back to where they were standing. She checked, probably for the tenth time, if the tea she had prepared was still warm. She was sitting at the desk in her own classroom with no students left to teach. It was late, most of them probably were preparing themselves for bed or were working on their homeworks that were due tomorrow.
She glanced in anticipation at the door, which was still closed. A few days ago she had been writing an owl to one of her colleagues and had invited her for tea right here in her classroom. It was an odd place to meet at this late hour, a fitting place for an odd request. Due to her bad feet she soldem if ever left her tower, so she had not talked to any of her colleagues much. Elaine Pendrast was no exception, so Béatrice had no idea if Professor Pendrast would listen to her request.
It was something she was not familiar with. She was the one to listen to request or wishes. She was the one who usually tried her best to fulfill these. That is what she was good at, where she felt at home. To be the one to do the asking and to be dependant on another person, was nothing she was acccustomed to and judging from how she felt, she didn't want to ever be used to it.
Still, what she had in mind was nothing she could do on her own. She needed the help of Professor Pendrast. In the end, it was a simple yes or no decision and Béatrice would be fine with either. If her colleague decided to rather not invest too much time, they still would chat nicely and have a great time. Béatrice didn't have bad feelings for anyone and she would accept a No as answer in no heartbeat. Her life was too short for any bad feelings.
This didn't mean, she didn't secretly hoped for a Yes. She quickly glanced at the door, checking if it was moving and decided to stand up. Slowly with the help of her walking stick she raised from the chair and looked at her classroom. It was filled with furniture, mostly chairs, and tables. Countless candles high above her lit up the room and spread the scent of burnt herbals. The wall and wooden beams were ever so faintly glimmering from small engravings, that one could miss while blinking. It was the perfect place for her needs and what she taught, but she realised it might not be the best room to study any spell. They would have to redecorate, but for now, Béatrice simply waited, her hand resting on the head of her stick, till her colleague would arrive.
