@Avery GrayChristmas was always magical, especially at Hogwarts. Everywhere would be covered with white snow and there would be no classes. Students who wanted to go home, while some students preferred to stay at school.
Tori wanted to stay in school this year. The previous year, she had made and kept gifts for her friends and the remaining students at school. She would do the same this time.
At first, she put the gifts she prepared for her friends in the same dormitory into the bedside tables. @Brookline Quinn She bought a Welsh book for her and a cat toy for her cat, Tigeress.
She left the dormitory and wandered around the castle and started placing gifts in some places. She placed it under the chessboard on the table in the common room, on top of the small statues, on the shelves in the Library, in some of the classrooms. The places she put them were places that could be found quickly.
She went out into the courtyard. There was no one around. She thought it was because it was cold. She was wearing a matching outfit and her hair was as white as the surroundings.

The gift included the last bracelet she had made last year (a black string bracelet with red-yellow beads and a silver piece in the shape of a lion in the middle), a chocolate bar she had bought from Hogsmeade, a flower, and a flower necklace. That's why he wanted the person to receive it to be a Gryffindor girl. She placed the gift on the bench and started walking around.

✽Avery marveled at the sight of winter. The snow was falling softly on the ground, and the already snow covered ground glittered. Footprints coming to and from the Courtyard scattered the area. Avery sighed. Christmas was going to be interesting this year without her family. She couldn't even remember a time that she wasn't with them for Christmas.
The Courtyard was empty. It didn't surprise Avery since it was really cold outside. She glanced around and breathed in the fresh air. Everyone else may think that she was crazy for being out in the cold, but she loved it. It helped her feel renewed.
As Avery was walking around, something caught her eye. It was a small white gift wrapped in a gray ribbon. She glanced around thinking that someone had accidentally forgot to grab their gift. She continued searching around. Unsure of who had left this gift.
She wasn't sure what to do with it, so she decided to sit down on the bench and hold it. She hoped that she would be able to find the owner. She didn't want them to forget their gift. Avery closed her eyes and pointed her face to where the sun would be. She let the small flakes of snow fall onto her face. Caressing her face as they slowly melted.

Surprise Gifts
Tori had finished her work in the Courtyard. Apart from the gift on the bench, she hide it in two different places. Maybe she should have thought a little more about hiding it in the Great Lake, under a tree or in a snow bush.
While she was thinking about these, he saw a girl sitting on the bench and holding a gray gift package in her hand. She was excited because it was the first time she had met someone who found one of her gifts. She came to the girl and sat down.
"Hello. What are you doing here on this cold winter day? Although I'm here too, never mind. Someone just put the gift package in your hand here. I think someone should find it, but I mean open it."
Tori tried not to talk too much. She knew that if he talked too much or too fast, she wouldn't stop and might blurt out the truth even if she didn't mean to. She was never good at lying and quickly changed the subject so she wouldn't understand.
"My name is Victoria. Victoria Lena Jones. What is your name? Are you a first year? Why did you choose to stay here on Christmas Eve?"

✽Avery was startled out of her thinking as a girl sat down next to her. She couldn't believe that she hadn't seen the girl. "Hi." Avery responded to the other girl. Avery listened when the girl said something about opening the gift. She considered it, and decided that she would open the gift. But first, she would chat with the other girl.
"I'm not sure why I'm out here. I guess I just needed some fresh air. It's been pretty lonely in the castle with not very many people here. What about you?" Avery questioned.
Avery smiled when the girl said her name was Victoria. "Hi Victoria. I'm Avery Gray. And, yeah, I'm a first year." Avery smiled again. Maybe this day wouldn't be so boring after all if she had someone to talk to.
"My parents made me stay here for the holidays. I'm not sure why, but all I know is that they said they were both busy." Avery sighed. She knew that her parents loved her, but it also felt like they sometimes forgot they actually had a daughter. Most of the time it was as if they loved their jobs more than their own daughter. They made that pretty clear when they decided to force Avery to stay at the castle for the holidays instead of letting her go to be with her grandparents.
