Ever since he had arrived there was never a moments silence. People talking, and laughing, and yelling, and cheering, and a few people he couldn't even stand the way they breathed around him. Worst of all there were at least 6 people he has stood near that Alex was convinced could induce a migraine just by thinking. how was it possible to be that stupid? He was convinced that he hated everyone at this stupid school and he couldn't wait to be done with it.

Despite the endless frustration of the human element Alex couldn't deny the wealth of information and knowledge that this place held. There were books, talking paintings, ghosts, hidden areas, secrets. Everywhere you turned there was something else to learn or discover, it was almost enough to bring a smile to his face. Almost.

And now, here he was. Avoiding breakfast to slip outside before all the other Troglodytes so he can have some peace and quiet. He was wearing his usual black jacket of a white dress shirt and his green tie, his black pants and dress shoes were wet from the morning dew as he walked towards the Great Lake. He was told that there was a giant monstrous squid that lived beneath the surface, but he didnt really believe it. With a sigh Alex sat down under a tree, not paying mind the moisture under him, and he pulled out a black hard cover note pad and a pen. With one last deep relaxed breath his pen began to move quickly across the paper.

Alex had been sketching Runes and Artithmancy. He had read about an equation that if could be properly solved and utilized would be able to to cause untold...something. The problem with older tomes was a lot of them were so old a lot of their information had faded or the pages had crumbled. He wasn't sure what, if anything would come from solving this strange equation but the curious part of his mind loved a puzzle. he needed to find the answer.

While he worked he heard the clomping of boots towards where he was sitting and he let out a sigh and looked up at the blue girl who was trying a bit too hard to look alternative. Probably one of those "I'm unique" girls that didn't understand the Irony of being different by doing the same things countless other "different" people had done. Social Irony was something that always caught his attention. People tried so hard to not be one thing and didn't realize the thing they became was just an inversed image of what they hated. People were strange.

It was clear she wanted him to move, and her scowl and body language came across as someone who was used to getting their way by being imposing. How dull. "I don't know or Care who you are. But im busy. Take your performance somewhere else, It's lost on me"

The Great Lake held many memories. One of them was dropping in a pencil when a scary redhead had come up to help her. The other was when Koko's greatest fear, a girl named Fridge, had come up to her and a few others and had confronted them. These memories made her scared to come to the location once more, but Koko had decided that she was open to possibilities. However, she may have been blonde, but she was by no means stupid. Koko was very paranoid, and that usually led her to avoid any situation where she could possibly be hurt.

The girl wore a pair of combat boots to cover her feet, a black blouse on her torso, and a pair of fairly short denim shorts - but of course not short enough to break the rules. She wore her Slytherin robes over the outfit, and on those robes, she bravely wore a Prefect badge. It was something that the blonde Slytherin wasn't used to, it was something that she didn't like, but it was something that she would have to deal with. The badge made her feel scary, but she wasn't someone who could hurt people, was she? The girl didn't know.

As she walked along the edge of the Lake, breathing in the slight salinity of the humid air, she saw two people. People, the scariest things in the world, intrigued Koko very much. She walked closer, her cat trailing behind her. He was a sweet little kitten who went by the name of Jax, and he also loved the outdoors. He had an interest in water, so Koko had decided to take him to the Lake to let him have fun outside.

"Meow?" Jax chirped, head-butting against Koko's pale leg. "Shh, I can give you a treat in a moment," Koko told him, a wry grin spreading across her small lips. She moved up to the others. "Hello. I see you have a very sharp wit," she said to the blue-haired girl. She was a Hufflepuff, but she didn't look like any Hufflepuff that Koko had seen before. Most Hufflepuffs were useless and pathetic. This one didn't look anything like that.

And then she noticed the mood. It was tense. It seemed as if these two had been... What, arguing? Koko wasn't going to stop that. "Do you mind if I watch? I could use some entertainment." Yes, humans were terrifying. But they could also be like hitting gold in the mineshaft of the entertainment industry.

Alex let out a heavy sigh and pinched the bridge of his nose. He had come out here to get a break from all of the nonstop noise that plagued him inside the castle. Instead all he found was a patch of wet grass, a blue haired girl who was determined to engage him and now some other girl with a cat chirping from the out skirts of a situation that didnt concern her in the slightest. Alex closed his notepad and slipped in back into the pocket on the inside of his black jacket. "As much fun your insecurities would be to explore, and as entertaining im sure the Cat lady in training is. I have better things to do than to put up with the two of you" Alex dusts himself off and slides his hands into his jacket pockets before his Dull, sleepless eyes focused on the hufflepuff. "You want your spot? Enjoy."

He shook his head and stepped past the blue haired girl and began to walk away from the spot where he was sitting moments earlier. Alex wasn't sure if there was a place in this castle where he could actually have solitude and get away from the endless noise, but one thing was for sure. It wasnt this spot. Which meant it was time to start looking for another place.

(Alex is still in play, just attempting to disengage)

Elinor was sitting under a tree, next to the lake but not facing it. Beneath her, she layed a small blanket to keep water soaking her brand new Hufflepuff robe. She was calmly reading a book called “Various plants found in the Forbidden Forest of Hogwarts”. She was fascinated by herbology.

When she touched the right side of her page to flip it, she heard the usual footsteps of a blue haired girl that came here very often, she looked behind the tree she was sitting under to see that a few trees over, it wasn’t the blue haired girl that was sitting here but a boy she didn’t know. He was dark and mysterious. She watched him sit down in the wet grass and taking out a note pad and a pen and started writing fast. Elinor knew that if the blue haired girl arrived, he would be in trouble. Elinor knows practically everything that happens in this area, she is always hidden under this specific tree.

After a little while she heard someone arguing with the boy. It was the blue haired girl. Elinor hated it when people would talk loud and constantly because she came here to have a moment to herself. She was getting really annoyed and ready to leave when she saw Koko approaching, Elinor knew her name because she was a Slytherin Prefect.

Elinor instantly knew that things were going to get heated up when Koko would arrive under the mysterious boy and blue haired girl’s tree. That’s why Elinor got up, grabbed her blanket and starting walking towards the castle, heading for a bench in an opened corridor. She was right, half way arrived at the bench, Elinor heard a third voice arguing, that would be Koko’s. When she sat down, she glanced over at the tree where the fight was happening, and saw the boy getting up saying a few words and then going away.

Elinor was happy that no one saw her, at least that’s what she thought and hoped. She really did not want to get in a fight, she was terrible at arguing. The last thing she wanted was to get in a fight, especially not with that raging blue haired girl

This wasn't going to be a terrible way to spend her evening. It would make her feel more like the old Koko, the one who wasn't scared of humans, rather than who she was now.

Her golden eyes lightened with amusement as she heard the Slytherin. "Cat Lady in Training?" she echoed, "Interesting." A very light smile rested on her lips. Her cat, however curious, sat near her, his ears perked. And then she realised that the other snake was pissed. He moved away, giving his spot to the spiky-haired Hufflepuff. She sat, and Koko's eyes travelled down to meet hers. "Where you've seen me?" the blonde asked, her voice as light as a feather. She usually spoke softly because she did not see the point in talking loudly. It only wasted the speaker's breath.

"Probably passing through the corridors, maybe in the Great Hall. I am not particularly noticeable, but some might say otherwise." Her smile faded. She was now supposed to be noticeable, and she did not like it one bit. Prefects were scary, evil people, at least from what she'd seen of them. So then what was she?

Her eyes darkened. She then noticed movement - not because of her eyes, but because of Jax. His head snapped in the direction that the other person (Elinor) had gone, and he set his nose to the ground to try to sniff her out. "Yes, go find her." The cat scrambled away, purring. He loved a wild goose hunt every once in a while. Now, may I ask what is so welcoming about that tree? I have always found sand and ocean to my liking rather than wood, grass, and bark." Her gaze darted to Jax, who had found flowers to roll around in. Perhaps he wasn't searching for someone after all.

Alex stopped and let out a heavy sigh as he shook his head. Afraid? of Captain Combat Boots, and some weird cat lady? He wasnt afraid. He was Annoyed, he was borderline disgusted at the swarming nature that these people had like insects to a scrap of food. He turned on his heel and looked at the Blue haired girl, who somehow knew his name, then over to the 'prefect' of his house. whatever that was. He was sure the 'P' badge she wore meant something, but he was even more sure that he really didnt care all that much.

"I am not afraid of you, or her. Yet I would sooner face the Giant Squid that lives in the bottom of the Lake than be forced to interact with either of you. You, Blue one, are too loud by half, can barely hear myself think. And you just smell of Cat and Dander...does that thing sleep in your cloths?" Alex takes off his glasses and rubs his eyes a moment before putting them back on. "And before you try to make some sort of witty or biting retort, save us both the time and the noise pollution. Because their is nothing either of you could say that I would have the slightest interest in. Now if you will excuse me" he holds up his leather bound note pad "I have things to do"

While Elinor was trying her best to concentrate and read, the muffled voices she could hear not so far away still bothered her. Elinor knew that they saw her coming out of nowhere. She began thinking maybe the blue haired girl was bullying the boy (there was no way the edgy blue haired girl was going to let anyone bully her) and the prefect was trying to diffuse the tension.
She wanted to get up and go stand up for him, but of what she sees of him, he would most likely reject her help offer, maybe it wasn’t even anything close to bullying, maybe just a friendly argument. So Elinor said to herself if in five minutes the fight would still be going on, she would reach out to the Prefect to ask if it was a fight where the blue haired girl was a bully.

Although Elinor was angry of the arguing that was going on, she couldn’t possibly go there and tell them to keep the volume down, she could only ask if help was needed, it was a public area, also, she was nothing, just a first year hufflepuff.
When she finished thinking about the fight and got back to reading, a cat she didn’t see coming came up and starting meowing. She didn’t know the cat’s name or even it’s owner. The cat reminded her of her cat Mushu that lived at Elinor’s parents house in Ilford, she missed him so much. Elinor paused her lecture to say hello to this friendly cat and give him belly rubs he seemed to enjoy.

Interesting. Very interesting. She liked listening to people talk, and that was probably because it usually meant that she didn't have to. If others were talking, then why should Koko talk? There was no reason that she should have voiced any of her questions if she didn't want to. Even if she had any questions to ask, she didn't want to talk to an edgy blue-haired girl about questions. That made her feel apprehensive.

While she might not have been interested in getting told off by the Hufflepuff, she was willing to ask the other Slytherin a question. "What other things?" the blonde asked, narrowing her eyes. "The way you say that... It seems as if you view us as terribly unimportant." That, she thought, was likely to be the truth, but it wouldn't hurt to pretend otherwise.

"As for my stench, I think you should smell yourself. Cologne might be a good option if you don't want to smell like dungeon all day long. I personally think that cat is a much better smell than moldy dungeon." She smirked, cocking an eyebrow and tilting her head slightly to the side. She didn't actually know where her cat had been... She would have to search for Jax later. As for now, she had a boy to glare at and a girl to keep her eyes on.

Elinor got back to reading when the cat layed down on her foot, purring. She was halfway through her book. It was very interesting and she wanted to reed it quickly because another book was waiting on her nightstand. People were still talking over there, it worried Elinor quite a bit. The cat meowed looking over at Koko, perhaps he was maybe his cat, or the discussion going on over there was also bothering him.

"I agree kitty, people talk all the time and most of the time its not even interesting."

Said Elinor to the cat, as if they thought the same. Elinor really finds herself in cats, they're independent, calm, rather intelligent, so as her. Elinor tends to overthink everything, a quick discussion to a simple wave. She didn't know what it meant, the persons intention or what people wanted Elinor to think. Of course it didn't happen all the time she would be exhausted to analyse every little thing.

"Is that your Mommy ? You want me to get you over there ? Right.."

Elinor said this as she placed a hand under the cats belly and one on its back to grab it correctly. Once he was secure she began walking towards Koko, building herself up to actually talk to a person without showing how shy she was.

"Is this your cat ? He… or she, I don't know.., anyway, the cat's adorable !"

She first said to the Prefect.

"I'm Elinor Connolly, um, Hufflepuff, but I think its pretty obvious, right ?"

She grinned at the end of her sentence because she felt awkward.

"What's going on here ?"
