Elisa knew, from her past duelling experiences, that she tended to be the first target. Perhaps she was the less experienced one - her partners were both duelling captains. Therefore, despite having raised her wand, no spell was incanted by her. Ready for anything that might come her way, she dodged the blindfolding spell Siohban sent at her with a twirl to the side. The Gryffindors seemed to have decided to go for indirect damage this round - a lightning cloud was hovering above the snakes and two blindfolds had been sent.
Elisa forced a deep breath into her lungs and out. This was just a duel, she was just here for fun. Just enjoy the moment, she told herself. However, the competitive portion of her - the part of her that had in the first place made her sign up for the Slytherin duelling team - wanted her team to emerge victorious.
The young girl just had the time to whisper an encouraging, "Good start guys!" to her partners before returning to the duel.

As soon as the arena was lit up by the starting signal, Theo raised his wand and wasted little time shouting “Obscuro!” At the top of his lungs. A jet of light left his wand and a moment later he found himself sliding backwards across the floor, his shoes squeaking as he slid and a horrendous pain in his chest. He had been hit twice. Once across the arm in a glancing blow and a second straight to the chest. He was winded and when he lifted his wand arm the boy winced, his muscles aching from the bruises. “That tickled.” He wheezed pathetically, looking like he was about to keel over.

Siobhan huffed quietly as her Obscuro missed Elisa- Though it was quite a laugh to watch Theo’s Obscuro smack Prat right in the face. She had to stop herself from laughing at his plight and instead turned to make sure Theo hadn’t been hit too hard by the double knockback jinx.

Sere seemed to be doing ok- She had cast her regular weather altering charm and Siobhan hoped that there would be a zap of lightning soon. She had yet to see it electrocute anyone.

Knockback Jinxes were easy for Pyxis now. With no pressure at the beginning of the duel, he had high expectations for that spell to hit its target. The snake was thankful to succeed in that endeavor and urged his heart to stay calm lest it caused him to start missing. A dark cloud then broke his concentration. Looking up, Pyxis recognized the effects of the Weather-modifying Charm. It was his first time seeing it being used in a duel, but he quickly shook off the novelty and brought himself back down to earth to find that Prat had been blindfolded. Not this again. So the lions had decided to obstruct them first. At least Elisa's gamble paid off.

Now, anyone who'd been on the duelling scene long enough knew where exactly this was going. The only question was, how would the odds turn? A blindfold was a set up to the absolute hell of a downpour of attack spells that only one could hope didn't hit that hard. Unfortunately for Slytherin, they didn't fare all too well. More specifically, Prat didn't fare too well.

Alyssea raised her hand. "Stop!" She yelled. "Everyone please hold while we get Pass off the piste." Alyssea sighed with the brief reprieve she had. She would have to say hi to him in the Hospital Wing later, as well as these other players once this was over and done with. What a day to be a healing intern, huh?

Now, Slytherin had done a decent job at trying to eliminate a player as karma. It was natural, of course, since they'd set up for it in the first round of spells. But it seemed Theo had tougher skin than he let on. When the dust settled, she was surprised to see Gryffindor still have their full team.

Alyssea raised an eyebrow. "Now you've definitely got us on our toes. Even with that hard of a beating, Vendeberg is still standing!"

Triple Flipendos flew perfectly, hitting right on target. How did it feel to knock out someone who moderated their duel on the last Fall Games? Not good. Sere didn't like the feeling of knocking out her acquaintance: not that close to make him understand what she did, but also not a stranger that would ignore what she did. Again, this was a match after all and Sere had to focus on winning rather than maintaining connection with her opponent.

She's better paying more attention to her teammates. Siobhan was fine, but Theo didn't seem so. Sere sighed, "Hang in there, can you? At least for few more rounds." She really needed both of them to boost her confidence.

Having only just recovered from the barrage of knockback jinxes, Theo stumbled around and wheezed “Flipendo” back at his aggressors. Despite his off pronunciation and erratic wand movement the spell succeeded and orange light rocketed towards Prat. The next moment, the Slytherin was on the ground and Theo grinned. “Your parents named you correctly.” The Gryffindor said spitefully, referring to an English slang term for an incompetent person. He didn’t know if Prat could hear him, but his team certainly would have. The boy’s smugness was short lived however, as he was struck by two new jinxes, which took their toll on Theo’s endurance. He almost toppled over, but managed to save himself at the last second. Theo was on his last legs and badly beaten, hearing the referee say ‘Vendeberg is still standing’ was enough to fill Theo with the hype and energy he needed to stay in the game. “I’m fine, keep the pressure on!” He shouted to Sere in response to her concern.

Well despite her own knockback jinx not having the same amount of power, it did help her teammates to knock Prat out. The poor bugger was knocked out faster than a cricket on a craftsbench and she felt a weird sense of amusement. Though she tried to be a kind sport about it- It felt good to be doing so well in her first duel back on the team.

She couldn't help her teammates responses though when Theo made his comment about Prat's name. Ah rats, now she felt bad.

But it didn't matter, she needed to think about their next move. Even with one player out, there were still two opponents who stood in front of them and their victory.

No, Elisa wasn't going to let two rounds pass without casting a spell. Wand readily raised, she cast the Knockback Jinx at Theo, pretty much synchronised with Pyxis. Watching her spell hit the Gryffindor right in the chest, Elisa made note of significant improvement in her aim since the last time she had duelled - those hours of tireless training in the duelling room had been worth it after all. Just as she was rejoicing, three same flashes of lights blinded the room as they shot towards Prat. Three knockback jinxes. All hit.
It was a horrible sight, watching her captain crumple to the floor. Elisa hadn't expected someone to fall so soon, even less her captain. Of course, unconscious people were very common in duelling - it was part of the process of determining the victorious side - but the young girl still felt uneasy for every fallen duellist. Elisa barely held herself back from glaring at the Gryffindor boy who had made the remark about Prat's name. Rude, she thought, clenching her teeth. She made note to visit Prat in the Hospital Wing, before returning to the duel. Prat would've wanted them to win. And so we will, Elisa thought, trying to boost her morale.

His Knockback Jinx connected again, mirroring Elisa’s. The sense of satisfaction that warmed Pyxis’ bones upon seeing Theo smacked about was immediately stomped as Prat collapsed next to him. That blindfolding spell was a dangerous thing. Once incapacitated, they’d unloaded all their shots into him and he would be none the wiser until he woke up in the hospital wing. Pyxis shuddered, thinking that there weren’t many worse fates in a duel. With one down, this was going to be an uphill battle for him and Elisa, but the snake wasn’t ready to give up yet.
