Afternoon Slot
Alyssea took a deep breath and stood at the edge of the piste. Despite having stood here many times over the course of her time at Hogwarts, this very moment was different. Alyssea was an official moderator now. She only hoped the sleepless nights re-acquainting herself with the rules, especially those she never knew existed, would pay off.
She cleared her throat and looked to the audience. "Welcome, everyone, to Stage II of this year's Duelling Championship!"
She gestured to one side of the piste donned in red attire. "On Gryffindor, we have Sere Nade, Theo Vendeberg, and Siobhan McCarty!" Then, she turned to the opposite side dressed in green. "And on Slytherin, we have Pyxis Hellebore, Elisa Wagner, and Prat Pass!"
The only familiar name really was Prat, due to their many duels and sport-adjacent events. Alyssea hummed. She had a few thoughts on this match-up, one she preferred to keep to herself for now. "Duellists, please take your places. Once my signal goes off, you may begin. Good luck."
She gave them a few minutes to convene, whispering strategies and whatever they needed. In the same time, she took her wand out from her robe pocket and contemplated her move. Once the energy settled down a little, she pointed her wand to the ceiling. "Violaceous."

Gryffindor vs. Slytherin: Match 6
Made by Raizel Voltrouz
Date : February 9th, 2025 Color code : Written|Thought|Said One year since her debut as Gryffindor duellist. Sere Nade still clearly remembered last year, when she climbed onto the piste for the Winter Games in mixed feelings, all the feelings that she tried to suppress down. Time flies and she had gain some level of confidence since then. Her duelling partners today were two familiar students, Theo and Siobhan.
Sere took a deep breath, "Siobhan, no more freezing up and getting nervous please. We'll be fine. Let's work on this together," She raised her wand, "And taste our victory once again."

•Lovely Creature in Effect•@Pyxis Hellebore|@Elisa Wagner|@Alyssea Brown⋄────────────────────────⋄Prat strolled onto the piste with a measured stride, the weight of this long awaited duel seemingly nonexistent on his shoulders. When Alyssea announced the Gryffindor team, he remembered the duel he had moderated for Sere, Theo, and Siobhan, during stage I. They were formidable opponents and Prat was ready to see an exciting game.
"Duellists, please take your places," Alyssea instructed, her voice steady. Prat's gaze flicked to her briefly, acknowledging her with a nod before returning to the task at hand. The piste was quite a familiar floor for him. He took his position next to Pyxis and Elisa as he stood there, strategy already in mind.[action] - [as strategized]────────────────────────────────

Elisa pressed her palm on the place where her heart was, trying to suppress the loud heartbeats. It was time. Long had she practiced for this, and she hoped the hours spent in the duelling club would be compensated. The Slytherin took a deep breath, and stepped onto the piste. She reminded herself, seeking reassurance, that she was paired with two other second years, both duelling captain and co-captain. Last time, she had won with Pyxis. This time, with their captain on the team, their chances were high, right?
Glancing at her teammates, she offered a small grin before taking out her wand, ready for the start of the duel.

Siobhan perked up when she heard her name, a little miffed at the comment but she couldn't deny that there had been a distraction during the last duel. It wasn't nervousness- It wasn't worry. It was just a personal conflict and she didn't need to explain it to anyone and nor could she without sounding crazy. She still hadn't figured out how to solve it but she had been ignoring it the best she could now. She looked across the floor and saw two new faces and... Prat. Lovely- Joy- Great just great.
At least he wasn't in charge of this duel. That way he couldn't say anything about it to her during the duel and afterwards, if they needed to fight on their own they would.

Pyxis was out of his element here. Draven wasn’t on his team and the opponents facing him weren’t from Ravenclaw. Two lucky charms gone, just like that. Prat had replaced Draven’s presence and while Pyxis felt some kind of comfort in having his captain standing with him, he still missed his bird-killer buddy. Elisa was a welcome sight though, as Pyxis had fond memories of their last duel together. Perhaps the same synergy could be created today with the newest member of their trio.
While Alyssea introduced them to the energetic crowd, Pyxis looked over the opposition. The playing field looked level enough as all six duellists were in the same year, but the young wizard knew that he needed to scope out any hidden advantages before they came to nip at the behinds of him and his team. As purple sparks fluttered down to the piste, the snake drew his wand and took aim.

Gryffindor vs. Slytherin: Match 6
During the locker room strategising, Theodore was less cold and more sympathetic than his previous duels. Going up against Slytherine filled him with mild apprehension, but now having two victories under his belt he had the experience not to lose his nerve. For the past year and a half Theo had secretly admired Slytherine house and envied not being part of it. Today he was determined not to act like a child throwing petty insults having a tantrum as he had in his previous matches. This match, he wanted the Slytherine duelists to respect him. Knowing he would have the same teammates was a positive feeling overall. Sere Nade had impressed Theo in their previous match, particularly with her ability to strategize. He greeted her warmly on the day with a smile. Theo’s other teammate, Siobhan still had a lot to prove in Theo’s eyes. As they were walking out from the locker room to the duel arena he glanced over his shoulder at her and said; “Don’t lose focus.” Theo entered the duel arena and walked to the border between the Gryffindor and Syltherine sides. He gave a bow and then casually moved to his starting position, wand already drew.

The purple sparks Alyssea set off to start the match were quickly shrouded in a dark cloud. She huffed. Bit of a waste of a sparkly spell, but oh well. The more important thing was these players' set ups, of course. The first round would always be crucial to a good duel.
"Gryffindor is starting us off with a storm cloud! Unless Slytherin can push it over to the other side, they're gonna have to deal with potential lightning strikes here and there. And I know some duellists might be thinking, "that spell never hits", but you never know—" Alyssea chuckled "—Today might be the day."
It was a bummer only one of the blindfolding spells landed, but you win some, you lose some. Not everyone spell was going to hit, after all, not with how focused Elisa was on dodging anything Gryffindor sent her way. Honestly, a good call, though it might've been helpful to land a hit on Theo if Slytherin's goal was to knock out a player as early on as possible.
Meanwhile, Slytherin rained down hard-hitting spells at one particular player who couldn't dodge fast enough. Alyssea grimaced as each Knockback Jinx hit. "A rough start for Vendeberg, but he's still standing! Nice work!" Alyssea quickly clapped her hands.

•Lovely Creature in Effect•@Pyxis Hellebore|@Elisa Wagner|@Alyssea Brown⋄────────────────────────⋄It only had just begun and the dorks already came for him. This was his first official game and in the very first round he was hit with an obscuro. His sight cutoff even before the game began. Stupid gryffs smh. Atleast he managed to observe both his and Pyxis's flipendo send Theo flying away, additionally, Elisa was nimble on her feet, those dodges were simply brillinat. So was Pyxis's aim, unlike Prat who was just there, still wet behind the ears.[action] - [as strategized]wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww[wc: 82/50]────────────────────────────────

Date : February 9th, 2025 Color code : Written|Thought|Said "Metelojinx!" Sere casted the Weather-Modifying Charm above the Vipers. "Oops, sorry!" Sere could hear the moderator huffing as she succeeded. The purple sparkle was gone and now the rain cloud was appeared above the Viridian Vipers.
Sere saw Theo who had pushed back some distances from his place because of the double Flipendos and clicked her tongue in annoyance. Offensive spells already? It's just the beginning of the match! The girl checked on Siobhan who seemed fine even though she had just missed her Obscuro. It would have been on target if there was no dodge. That's okay. She has plenty of chances to succeed in the next rounds.
