Third and Final Task - Retrieve a specific item hidden in a patch of Swooping Evil cocoons. Attention - there might be additional complications.

After a busy morning in which all teams had the opportunity to brew their best potions, using all their knowledge and best of skills, professors Melisande Lennox and @Méabh Regan would be waiting for the brave and daring contestants at the Quidditch Stadium. Alongside them was the prestigious and international panel of judges, constituted by Hogwarts' Hjørdis Jensen and Dusana Sabo, Célestine de la Croix-Valmer from Beauxbatons, Évodie Ndoto Masudi of Uagadou and Hugo da Silva[NPC] former Castelobruxo's potions professor and a renown author.
It was mid-autumn and the Scottish highlands would welcome them with gray skies and a very unpleasant cold wind. Meli looked at the heavy clouds forming a dense blanket that threatened to dissolve into raindrops and hoped that wouldn't happen for a while longer. Behind her, the representatives of the various schools participating in the tournament were sitting comfortably, they would be the ones who would evaluate the performance of all the teams and they would be the ones who would decide the winner in the end. Who among them would deserve to walk out of the stadium with a shiny new golden cauldron and bring honor and prestige to their names? Melisande knew that she flinched a little when she saw some of the potions being prepared...now she only could hope for the best!
The Quidditch Stadium was completely renovated and prepared to receive the event. In it, three different sections could be found, each prepared for the challenges corresponding to each age group.
Third Section:
In the last third of the Stadium, covered by a giant greenhouse dome, there was another forest, but this one had a different flavor, it was a luxurious tropical forest, and instead of tall pine trees, we would find mahogany trees, strangler figs, passionflower flowers, orchids, bromeliads and soursop trees. Scattered on the ground and hanging on the trees were wicker baskets with soursops and...yes you're correct, swooping evils in the mix! Once the adventurous students entered the forest their mission would prove to be quite difficult, of course! To achieve prestige the challenges could not be easy to overcome!
Melisande and Méabh were standing together, making themselves noticed among the seated spectators, as they waited for all the competition participants to arrive at the place where the last part of the Potions Championship would be held. Once all the contestants were present, Meli, with her voice amplified by the Sonorus spell, would finally address everyone present, "Dear students and honorer guests, welcome to the third and final part of the Potions Championship. As you can see, in front of you is not the usual sight that we are used to finding inside our Quidditch Stadium. The organisation of this event took liberties and transformed it into a more suitable setting for this contest.”
“Inside that lush green tropical rainforest,” Meli continued pointing with her hand and outstretched arm towards the patch of tall trees, colourful, beautiful flowers and dense vegetation,“There are several wicker baskets with soursops. You have to be able to recover a soursop without disturbing the swooping evils that hide among the trees and the fruit baskets. You’ll need to use all your courage and wits to succeed in this dangerous mission."
"Completing your task should be your main goal, but let me remind you that you’ll lose points if you get yourself harmed or any of the Swooping Evils. I hope you’ve done your best and brewed the most outstanding potions!” She merrily ended saying, giving the crowd one of her brightest smiles. It certainly would be entertaining!
“So when you are ready…” She started again, looking at the youngest students with an encouraging nod and smile, “Remember you will only have one hour to finish this challenge, when the time is over so it is your opportunity to succeed. Time starts as soon as you enter your challenge field. In your case, as soon as you cross the door to the rainforest greenhouse. Time will stop counting when you return."
"Pay attention to your surroundings, remember everything you have learned so far, trust your companions and I’m sure you’ll be victorious! Good luck!” Then she would give them a signal, letting them know that they were free to enter the greenhouse and start their challenge.

- Retrieve a soursop fruit from a patch of Swooping Evils.
- The groups will be judged and rated by a prestigious panel of international wizards, by the following criteria:1. Quality of the potions2. Successful completion of the task3. How fast they finished the task4. Injuries and other harm to the competitors5. Injuries and other harm to the beastsjjjj
- The tasks will be performed in the same groups that brewed the potions in the first and second part. Each member of the group will have one dose of each of the two potions they brewed to use - but be careful, their effect will depend on the success of the brewing stage, and a bad brew might harm more than help!
(This potion is IC only and only usable for this thread - there is no potion item associated with this.)
- The event has a total of three moderated rounds, after which the time is up! Your characters can perform one moderated action per round (incl. casting spells - think adventure threads, balls, sports etc.). Using a potion as a bonus action (can be performed additionally to the moderated action). You can use both potions in the same round, in this case one potion counts as the first moderated action and the second as a bonus action. Will your strategy lead to victory?
- Moderations take place roughly weekly. The deadline for posting is six days (144 hours) after the moderation is posted. The word requirement is 200 words per post.
- The top team of each age group is crowned victor and earns eternal glory for their schools. And of course, a magnificent golden Cauldron!
- OOC reward: One dose of a potion depending on your age group for every participant who has posted in every moderation round:

The Potions Championship was Irina's dream to compete in. She got so lucky that it was occurring in her final year at Koldovstoretz and she was able to compete with all of her potions education. It came as a bit of a surprise to learn she was the only Koldovstoretz student competing in the championship since they were known for having a strong potions department, however, Irina was excited to represent her school in such an event. Irina would do her best to win it for herself and win it for her school. And hopefully at the end of the competition she would have enough buzz to start her potions career strong.
Walking up to the giant greenhouse filled with tropical trees, Irina prepped herself for the task ahead. She needed to enter into the greenhouse, sneak up to fruit basket filled with soursop and swooping evils, search for a real soursop, grab the soursop, and then escape without getting noticed by the swooping evils. It was a hard task, and Irina was slightly regretting her choice to brew a shrinking solution earlier in the competition. However, Irina had ventured upon worse creatures when broom racing and she felt confident about her chances in this trial.
Upon receiving the signal to enter the greenhouse, Irina cautiously walked in and immediately began analyzing the place. The practically sixth sense she had developed quite young was working overtime as the tropical forest came into focus around her. The numerous baskets of fruit called out to her and the smell of dew in the air set a smile on her face. She could quickly crush this challenge and become victorious. Irina softly walked on the forest floor towards the first fruit basket. While there was a good chance that the first basket had more swooping evils, Irina wanted to get out as quick as possible.
Irina grabbed at her vial of Vitamix Potion she had brewed and brought it to her mouth, swallowing it so she could have some more enhanced senses to find the real soursop. She was hoping that her brew was almost perfect, yet the potion was a hard one to master. Irina could only hope that her potion went well and she could find a soursop as she peered into the first fruit basket.

The icy wind continued to blow around the stadium, unwilling to show its mercy to all the excited participants and spectators. Meli suppressed a shiver as a delicate thread of cold air dared to penetrate the fabric of her scarf. With her bright sapphire eyes, she scanned the stadium field, not wanting to miss anything that was happening, both for her own amusement and entertainment, but also so that she could act quickly if something was going in the wrong direction. There ere too many variables that could make that competition turn to the wrong way.Round: 1
It was interesting to see how her students thought in such different and creative strategies to overcome their challenges. Irina, one of the phew international students participating in the competition, decided to start by drinking her Vitamix Potion that happened to be a very well brewed potion (+2 to evasion rolls). This immediately heightened her senses and gave her a greater sense of awareness of her surroundings. Thanks to it, her search for the soursop was fruitful, and she quickly spotted the right green and spiky fruit she was looking for.
Irina found the right fruit, but She now needed to retrieve it to finish her challenge. There were three Swooping Evils around, but luckily she had not disturb them while searching for her hidden "treasure" in the rainforest greenhouse.Identify the right fruit - WDC: 23

Peering into the first basket, Irina adjusted her eyes to the light as she searched for a real soursop. Each of the fruits looked the same as the swooping evil and Irina grew more worried that she wouldn't be able to spot it quickly enough. Then when adjusting her head she saw a gleam of light coming off of a spike from an item in the basket that had to be a soursop. Irina had identified her target and was ready to rescue it from the swooping evils.
The swooping evils were right in front of her which was super worrying. At any time if they noticed movement from her they could attack and ruin her scores in the task. She had to go into complete stealth mode. Goal number one was to remove the soursop from the basket without disturbing the swooping evils. It was the hardest goal and one she was already starting to deeply worry about. I need to remove this soursop and am convinced that these swooping evils will be alerted by my presence if I do. I can only hope so much, but I am about to dial into my most delicate potions hands. Irina had precise hands from potioneering and just had to hope that it would be enough to not get caught.
Goal number two was to escape the rainforest without any of the other swooping evils awaking and coming after her. It was taping into the greatest depths of her ability to be stealthy. If any of the swooping evils starting chasing her, Irina was so worried that she would cast a damaging spell and hurt them, thus lowering her score. However, sneaking away was the goal and she had one more potion up her sleave that would do the trick.
Goal number three was to exit with style. Irina still had her shrinking solution and while it wouldn't be of any help while she was collecting the soursop, it was essential to her escape. After collecting the soursop, Irina would drink her shrinking solution, shrink down to a smaller size, and then escape in style. As far as Irina was aware no one else made a shrinking solution and after drinking it, she would become a much harder target to hit and spot by the swooping evils. It was a genius plan that Irina was excited to see through.
This task almost felt like performing a heist. She already got in and identified the target. Now, she needed to snatch the goods and escape without getting caught, while having some style. As a muggle-born, Irina grew up watching a number of heist movies and knew the logic behind the madness. She just needed to channel into her inner child swiping an item from under her mom's nose. It was time and Irina was as ready as can be to win this championship.

One of the most interesting things Melisande found herself observing was the diversity of strategies the competitors had found to try to overcome that challenge. Irina for example, had made brilliant use of her potions!Round: 2
Even so, her presence did not go entirely unnoticed by the Swooping Evils. At least one of the creatures had detected her presence as she removed the soursop from the basket and decided to attack. But with the consumption of Shrinking Potion and Vitamix, Irina became shrewd and harder to target. The creature ended up failing in its attack attempt.

It was heist time. Irina had already set out her goals and was about to perform the heist of this potions championship. She reached her hand into the basket and delicately removed the soursop she had spotted earlier. While moving to secure the soursop, Irina noticed a movement from the basket...a swooping evil had noticed her. Taking a step away from the basket while tightening her grip on the soursop, Irina dodged out of the way just in time to avoid the attack. Phew, that was close. It must have been the two potions she had now ingested that helped her reflexes out. With the soursop in her position and no more swooping evils to dodge, goal number one was complete.
While understanding the world from her new found shrunken height, Irina almost missed the pack of Vampyr Mosps that started heading right towards her. They were familiar creatures from Broom Racing and Irina knew that they were alerted by light but could not remember anything else. In hopes of not casting a spell to make matters worse or damage the creatures, Irina was just going to dodge as best as she could. Each Mosp flew fast right at her and Irina did her best to avoid every single one while still holding onto her prized soursop. After she dodged three of them, Irina turned back to the sky and was happy to see that the mosps were flying away from her and away from her soursop. With no damage to herself or any of the creatures, goal number two was complete.
Irina was so close to the exit and had executed everything to perfection. She had quickly found and rescued the soursop, and then evaded every single creature that came after her without causing any damage. In her eyes there was nothing she could have done better expect maybe brewed a slightly better shrinking solution. With both potions in her system, Irina could feel the effects of the Vitamix potion more even when she had shrinked to a smaller size. It was obvious to her potion trained mind that she could have done a couple things better in the potion making process, but Irina had no plan to worry about it. Unless it lost her the championship, then she would be all over her mistakes.
Walking out of the forest through the same way she entered, Irina held her soursop up high yelling, "I've done it, I've got the soursop!!", hoping that people would notice her while she waited for the shrinking solution to wear off. Exiting with style was done which meant that goal number three was complete.
Irina had pulled off the perfect heist. She got caught, but didn't get injured and didn't hurt the creatures which was apart of the scoring rubric. Irina was so proud of her performance and happy that she represented Koldovstoretz in the best way possible. If this was the definition of leaving school with a legacy, Irina was proud that she was the one to do it. She was hopefully the one to prove that Koldovstoretz had the best potions school in the entire world and would be launching her career through his championship. Win or lose, Irina felt so confident in her potion making and challenge performance.
Irina hadn't just competed for herself, she competed for all her fellow peers and friends that never got to witness an international community. She competed for the dozens of Koldovstoretz students who kept meeting tragic ends when they merely wanted to explore the world. Irina had competed for herself, her school, and her lost classmates. She had given the competition everything and felt pride regardless of the result. Irina walked out of the championship feeling the happiest she had felt since before the explosion 3 years ago.

As the championship drew to a close, and some competitors finished their tasks, the crowd in the stands was in high spirits. The noise was almost deafening, people were shouting, applauding and cheering for their friends and teammates. Melisande smiled brightly as she saw all the enthusiasm surrounding her, "We did good!" She said, leaning slightly towards Méabh and muttering in her ear so the potions professor could hear over all the commotion. She winked at Regan before turning her attention back to the Quidditch field, towards where the real action was still happening.Round: 3
