She strolled down the corridor, on her way to Charms class, it was early, very early... She enjoyed this class, the subject was extremely interesting and the professor made it that way. It was an easy escape for her since she would not get into trouble for coming early for class.

She hoped that the classroom would be open, but this was not the case, a soft sigh escaped her lips as she sat down on one of the benches. She took her bag off of her back and placed it in her lap, she took out her Charms textbook and proceeded to read the literature that would pertain to the lesson of today.

She had not been talking to many students since she received a letter from home, it was not good news and she did not want to create any unnecessary friction with the people that she had come to know, even if it was only briefly. She did not know anyone personally, but she had met a few nice people.

She simply felt like she did not want to impose on their lives and decided to throw herself into her work. The reason why she enjoyed Charms so much was because it was a great distraction and she was not half bad at it. She enjoyed the lessons because she enjoyed gaining knowledge, and of course it helped that the professor made it fun. A soft smile curved onto her lips as she thought about the previous lessons.

She wondered whether this subject was the professors' favorite subject when he was in school. It seemed like a personal question, and she wondered whether she should ask this. She shook her head as she refocused on the material in front of her. It did not take very long for her mind to wander again.

The time was not moving fast enough for her, she sighed as she placed her textbook on her lap, it seemed impossible to concentrate when she was not in class. She closed her eyes as she leaned back against the wall.

Loneliness followed her around like an old friend ready to receive her.

The corridors all looked so similar in this castle. If she wasn't careful she would be late for class. She pushed through the crowd, past students and teachers alike.
It was time for charms class, this was one of her favourite classes, so much to learn. She wanted to learn everything she could from here, so she wanted to make sure that she was early. The last thing she wanted was to miss the chance to learn a fun spell.
She turned a familiar corner, book bag slung over her shoulder. It was the charms corridors at last. Her walk finally ended when she reached the class. She tried to open the door only to find it locked.
Her smile faded at this, it seemed that she would have to wait until the teacher arrived before she could enter the classroom.
She glanced around the room, hoping to find somewhere to sit, she would get so sore if she couldn't sit. Her gaze found a single bench, it looked relatively comfortable.
There was a girl reclining on the bench. At first glance it looked like she was sleeping, but as Lilianna got closer she could see the girl was in fact relaxing.
She walked closer, gently tapped her on the shoulder and spoke " hi, I'm Lili, I was wondering if I could sit with you until class starts?"

A surprised expression glowed on her face as she looked up at the girl who tapped her on her shoulder. A soft smile formed on her lips as she patted the seat next to her.

"I am Alyssa, I think we might be a tiny bit too early for class." she said, a soft chuckle escaping her lips. She did not mind it though, it just showed that there were students that are dedicated to their studies.

She smiled as she sat up a little straight. It seemed strange for learners to wait for their professor to arrive. She tilted her head to the side as she wondered what the professor would say, would he appreciate learners like them, or were they just numbers to them, she knew that the professors had plenty of students to concentrate on.

" I was thinking about staying in the library longer, but it seemed like the traffic on the corridors would keep me from being on time." She gestured to the students who were walking in all kinds of directions. She did not recognize them, they seem like older students. She has not seen any of the other first year students. For a moment she wondered whether she was at the right class, maybe she had misread her timetable.

A soft frown formed on her forehead as she quickly pulled her bag onto her lap, she quickly hunted for her timetable. A relieved sigh escaped her lips as she noted that she was at the right class.

Loneliness followed her around like an old friend ready to receive her.
