Charlotte was feeling particularly destructive today. She was sat in one of the stalls, her eyebrows furrowed and her mouth pulled into a frown. Her knees were pulled up to his chest, and she was trying not to cry. All she could hear was the strike of her matchsticks and the sticks lightly clattering to the ground.
She felt dumb, and she felt this way all to often. She found that her cousin and her newly acquainted friend were smarter than her. No one seemed to wanted to be her friend, but then again, she never made the effort to be anyone's friend. She was horrible at making friends, she never had any in primary school, and to her knowledge, she's not going to get any, any time soon.
She huffed, and pulled a piece of parchment from her bag. She was going to need more than just normal matches to soften the blow that she did to her own ego. She wanted to see something burn... And she'll admit, she's being edgy as hell, but who was there to stop her? She was alone, and that was when she was at her worst. The only reason she was in there was because she had finished all her books, and it was already so late. She was forbidden to do any mischief (although, mischief is forbidden all together, she noticed that messing around during the day softened the blow of punishment) or get a book at this time of night.
She could feel herself starting to cry as her face was illuminated by the burning piece of paper; her face was already red and blotchy. Charlotte was sniffling, trying to suppress her feelings of uselessness and trying to suppress her crying. If there was anything she hated more than feeling dumb, it was feeling useless and weak, and she had just brought those feelings onto herself.
After the paper was mostly burnt, she threw it into the toilet and turned around. If anyone sees me like this, I swear, I'll actually kill myself Charlotte thought before slamming her forehead into the stall door, making a loud noise that echoed throughout the bathroom.

When Luna entered the lavatory, she had no idea what-or rather, who she might find there. She had woken up that night feeling particularly uncomfortable, and she just couldn't put her finger on it. Something was pulling her towards the girls bathroom, she couldn't explain it nor did she know how to, but she let it drag her along the dark, empty corridors in a sort of trance. Luna had stopped in front of the door, now able to hear soft sniffles coming from the other side and could pick up a faint scent of parchment paper burning. Is-is something burning? I wonder who's in there? Luna thought to herself, quietly opening the door. She stepped into the bathroom and onto the tiled floors, the sniffles and smoke-scent getting stronger by the second. Luna could see a small light coming from a flame in one of the stalls, door closed. A few moments later, Luna could hear a small sizzling sound as the light of the flame from inside the stall died in water. Suddenly, she heard a loud thud from behind a closed stall door echo all around the bathroom, as smoke floated out from it. "Eep!" Luna peeped at the sudden loud noise.
She quickly covered her mouth, fearing that the person in the stall might've heard her. Luna stood still, back against a cold gray stone wall, ready to run if she saw fit. The flames of the torches in the scones on the wall flickered as they casted shadows that seemed to dance along the floor and the ceiling. Luna slowly turned her head in the direction of the stall, her amber eyes wide.

Although this person was being quiet, the bathrooms had a tendency to echo, especially when they were this vacant. Charlotte groaned when she realized she wasn't alone anymore, hearing this mystery person make a noise. She wasn't going to do anything, after all, what could she do? She wasn't going to beat this person; she was too emotionally drained. She just stood up, her shoulders hanging low, her body felt so heavy, and swung the door open, it clanging against the wall. She looked up at the girl on the stone cold wall.
Charlotte didn't care. How could she? This girl has already seen Charlotte, it's not like she could obliviate her; she didn't know how. She wiped her half-lidded, puffy, red eyes, and trudged over to the sinks, splashing her face with cold water, and again looking at the girl in front of her.
"Why are you here?" She started, her sentence sounding blunt and kind of harsh, but continued "I know you're not a Ravenclaw. Isn't there a bathroom closer to your part of the castle?" She sighed, wiping her face down with a towel, rubbing her eyes.
Charlotte then turned and walked a couple steps closer to the Hufflepuff, the movements stilling as she found herself close enough. She crossed her arms, but her body still hung low. She didn't feel intimidating anymore, and she know she didn't look the part, and honestly she didn't want to act the part either. She just wanted to know why the blonde headed girl was there...

Ah, the girl's lavatory.
It was pretty gross, but it opened the Chamber of Secrets, and Millie had found herself acquainted with it. And it was the closest bathroom when she was walking from the Gryffindor tower, to anywhere else. That being said, it was usually empty. So walking in, she hadn't expected to see anyone.
But as she walked inside, and the scent of smoke entered her nose. Millie wrinkled her nose, and pulled her wand out from her robes pocket, pointing it ahead as she walked inside. If something was burning, she would have to extinguish it. She knew the charm, and knew it quite well.
However, as she walked further into the bathroom, she realized that nothing was on fire, but that two girls were standing there, talking about only god knows what. She pointed her wand down, but stared at both of the girls.
"Do either of you know why it smelt like fire?" She asked, looking around the bathroom subtly. She finally let her glance focus on one of the girls, who seemed to be crying? This seemed to be the worst place to cry, seeing as so many people had access to it. Lowering her loud, dominating, voice Millie felt awkward.
"Are you alright?"

Charlotte took her wand out when she saw that someone else was walking in with theirs out. She didn't know any spells, but that could make her more dangerous. Who knows what she could do with her extremely lack of knowledge in magic.
"I didn't ask to have a goddamn party when I walked in here," Charlotte sighed angrilly, pushing her messy, short, hair out of the way when the saw the Gryffindor walk into the bathroom. She was starting to get snippy, she was tired, angry and sad. Could you really blame her? She rubbed her face in her hands, dragging them down slowly, trying to ease the headache she was about to have.
"Yeah! Actually I was just about to set this whole school on fire! Just checking to see if my matches worked! " She exclaimed sarcastically, moving her arms around as she spoke. Her fake smile turned into an annoyed frown quickly, her eyebrows furrowing and her arms crossing. She leaned her weight on one of her legs scoffing.
"I'm fine." Charlotte's face turned stony, not wanting to feel weak in front of- well- a superior. "Just miss my family is all," She lied, she didn't miss her family all that much. Her mom and dad were very boring people, but they were also very overprotective. Annoying. It seemed like she got three letters from them everyday.

Luna was terrified. She had just gotten found out by the student in the bathroom stall and was currently being cornered in the tight spot she'd gotten herself into. The girl's eyes were still puffy and red from crying and she'd splashed water on her face in an attempt to get rid of the puffiness. Luna noted that the girl was a Ravenclaw, now being able to see the girl's robes. The girl stared at Luna and asked harshly, "Why are you here?"
Luna flinched at the tone of the girl's voice. She was already scared, and after hearing the girl's words, Luna was only freaked out more. She tried to give an answer, mustering up a tiny spark of courage, but no sound came out of her mouth. The girl continued, saying, "I know you're not a Ravenclaw. Isn't there a bathroom closer to your part of the castle?"
Luna gulped in fear and attempting again to reply to the girl. She was just about to speak when the door of the bathroom opened and an older-looking Gryffindor stepped in. She seemed to have scented the aroma of smoke in the air as she wrinkled her nose in disgust and pulled out her wand. The girl then noticed the girls and lowered her wand saying, in a loud, commanding voice, "Do either of you know why it smelt like fire?"
Luna quaked in fear, S-so scary. Everyone here is so intimidating! How can I make friends with anyone if I'm this scared? The Ravenclaw stiffened and took out her wand as well when she noticed the Gryffindor girl. The Gryffindor seemed to then realize that the Ravenclaw had been crying and asked, "Are you alright?" her voice softening a little.
"I didn't ask to have a goddamn party when I walked in here," the Ravenclaw said, sounding very angry.
"Yeah! Actually I was just about to set this whole school on fire! Just checking to see if my matches worked!" she continued sarcastically, gesturing in the air for added effect.
"I'm fine." she said finally, seeming to be hiding something behind a unfeeling mask she suddenly put on, "Just miss my family is all."
Luna took in a quick breath and exclaimed, "S-so do I!" her voice quivering and coming out louder than she wanted.
Her face flushed in embarrassment from her sudden outburst, but she locked eyes with the Ravenclaw. Luna summoned every ounce of courage she still had to say, "I-I miss my family too! When I got my acceptance letter to Hogwarts, I knew that I would have to do everything in ability to make them proud! I knew that if I failed them, I would never be able to face them again. It's not that they are the ones who are disappointed. It's me! I know they're really busy, so I'm not surprised that I don't hear from them often. I'm nervous and worried all the time! With every thing I do and with every decision I make, I wonder, am I making them happy by doing this? Would they be mad if I did that? It can get overwhelming sometimes! But in the end, I tell myself I'm not perfect, nor is anyone else! I pick myself back up and move on, knowing that is what my family would want me to do. I know that you might be going through some hard times right now, but it'll get better, I promise. I would like to help you through it, in any way I can! S-so get back up and get out there!"
Luna was panting, face flushed and hands curled tightly into fists. She wondered if this would be the end of her, and how the other girls would react to her whole big speech. Why did I say all that? How did I say all that? Well crap, I'm so freaking dead!

Oh, great, one girl set on setting fire to the school, and another girl who was plainly terrified. Luckily, though, Millie had learned how to deal with problematic people. They seemed to just appear all around Hogwarts.
When the Ravenclaw girl raised her wand as well, Millie tightened her grip. She knew the spell to disarm the girl, and the spell to extinguish a fire. Being in Hogwarts for only a year seemed to teach her much. Just... not enough. "Calm down and lower your wand, I'm not planning to hurt either of you," She said.
And then the Ravenclaw said the cause of all the problems- family. Not that Millie would know anything about that, her parents decided to hop on away to America for the Summer and abandon the poor girl. Then Honey ended up running away and her and Clem had to search the castle for the cat! In all honesty, she felt bad. There was nothing she could do to help family troubles, besides offer some form of support.
As if that wasn't enough, the Hufflepuff girl began rambling about her family and how she wanted to make them proud. It sounded very much of Lallie and Millie did not need to think about her crush at this moment.
"That was a speech..." Millie hummed, looking over to the Hufflepuff. "Props to you, man."

"If I was planning on hurting you I wouldn't have my wand up." She said bluntly, stuffing her wand in her pocket. She was confident in her ability to fight without magic. After all, her parents sheltered her because they never had hope that she was going to be a witch, they constantly thought she was going to be a squib, so they never showed her the world of magic until they were sure she was magical. Not to mention she didn't live in the best part of town, learning to fight with your fists and win is a very important part of her daily life at home.
Charlotte wasn't really a people person, and she certainly didn't like being the center of attention. She normally wasn't like this; she just felt so defensive in the moment. She opened her mouth to say another snarky remark so she could push past the Gryffindor and leave, but the Hufflepuff started her small rant.
Charlotte's eyes widened when she was done, a small smile gracing her lips as she sniffled. She could tell the girl was very pure hearted and a good person in general- well, there was a reason she was sorted into Hufflepuff.
"Thank you..." She nodded at the end, feeling more inspired... but still not better. Of course that's because she lied about her problems. There was nothing they could really do about how self conscious she was about her intellect. Sure, she was sorted into Ravenclaw... but what if it was a mistake? Charlotte could feel her eyes tearing up again, her shoulders finally relaxing.
"Ah for fooks sake, look what ye've done" she sniffled, wiping her eyes again, but she was smiling. She turned to the older girl still in the bathroom. "Do yeh know anywhere else we can hang out? This bathroom's kind of gross... or maybe we should just stay here. We probably won't get caught."

Thankfully, the Ravenclaw lowered her wand. Millie had learned how dangerous people were when they didn't know magic- and were handling the substance itself.
After the Hufflepuff finished her speech, the other girl started crying. Millie plunged her hand into her pocket and pulled out a red cloth. "Scourgify," She mumbled, pointing her wand at the cloth. The dirt and excess fluff from her pocket seemed to disappear at the spell.
She had learned the spell after watching Alan help Meenauh during the disastrous Gryffindor ball. After deeming the cloth clean enough, Millie looked over to the Ravenclaw. "Here," She said, handing it to her.
One problem was finished, now she just had to deal with a lot more. The question of leaving the bathroom became present, and the Hufflepuff suggested the kitchens. This wouldn't be a bad idea had the elves not been told to tell teachers if students came to the kitchens. So naturally, Millie shot down the idea.
"If you don't want to be seen by other students this place is your best bet," She shrugged. "The abandoned toilets on the second floor is usually left alone, too. Hence the name "abandoned". But it's pretty gross."
Millie stowed her wand in her pocket, ready to pick it back up again if need be. She looked over to both girls, realizing she had been referring to them as "Hufflepuff" and "Ravenclaw", instead of their names- which now occurred that she didn't know them.
"Oh yeah! My name is Euphrasia, but I prefer Millie!"

After suggesting the idea, the Gryffindor girl disagreed with her. "If you don't want to be seen by other students this place is your best bet," she shrugged, "The abandoned toilets on the second floor is usually left alone, too. Hence the name "abandoned". But it's pretty gross."
Luna agreed with that idea and decided that she would stay in the bathroom for the time being. The Gryfinndor girl then seemed to have realized something and said, "Oh yeah! My name is Euphrasia, but I prefer Millie!"
Luna looked at the girl and said, "Oh! Well, nice to meet you, Millie! My name is Luna. Luna Starcatcher. But just call me Luna! You don't have to say my last name when you address me, just to be clear."
Luna thought that Millie seemed like a pretty kind and caring girl, so Luna liked her and hoped she'd be able to make friends with her. Luna then turned to the Ravenclaw girl and thought, She seems pretty okay, too. Despite being kinda scary and intimidating at first, she seems like a real big softie underneath. Luna then asked the girl, "What's your name? We've been hanging around in this bathroom for quite a bit of time, so it would be rather awkward if we didn't know each other's names by now."
Luna really wanted to get to know the other girls well and maybe the three of them could become good friends! Luna also was wondering why the Ravenclaw girl was crying earlier, but she decided she wouldn't bring it up until the right time.
