Catching Up on Friendship
Meenauh shivered at the mentioning of Gryffindor. She didn't quite believe it yet. She was very determined in making sure there was a mistake. Or getting to a point of genuine understanding the house didn't matter at all and note it down as a formality.
The conversation was whirling around the family topic and Meenauh still couldn't understand whether it was better to trail off or go deeper. Angellica seemed to be like working for her father rather than actually being his child.
She remembered a book. It was fiction, but the author liked to put a lot of facts into it, both scientific and occult, which was hilarious at some moments and at the same time quite philosophical. She didn't remember which book exactly that portion was from, but she decided to quote anyway:
"Some people say that our soul has a recipe. 25% of karma, meaning the unfinished stuff from your previous life; 25% of heritage, meaning the wishes and plans of your parents; and 50% of free choice, which are the actions you are willing to do with your life by yourself. And it's the job of a soul to get as close as possible to the 100% of free choice and leave behind whatever drags it back into what others want."
Meenauh stopped. She wasn't sure why she said it and what effect she wanted to achieve. But that was exactly what she remembered and wanted to quote.
The wind started to strengthen up and Meenauh muffled into her scarf better. She had to learn some warming spell as soon as possible, considering the upcoming winter. Because she needed fresh air and she would love to spend more time outside.
"The weather gets windy. Do you mind walking back to the castle and continue on our way?" she asked the blonde placing her bag around her shoulder. As the girl nodded, the two stood up and started to slowly walk back to the castle, continuing to discuss various topics along the way.
