Studying One Potion a Day Allows You to Make New Friends
@Lyanna OakTori grabbed her bag and walked out of the Common Room. Inside were parchment paper, snacks, potion books, a quill, and an ink bottle. Today her hair was chocolate brown. Although she normally liked the red color, she was also trying different hair.
She managed to find an empty classroom. She knew it would be quieter than the library and that there was a chance he would be caught sneaking snacks by the library staff. Tori hadn't seen the classrooms used much outside of classes.
She sat in one of the front rows, opened her bag, took out her belongings, and tied her hair with a hairpin.
She started working. The only sound in the classroom was the sound of the quill on the parchment and Victoria's breathing. Victoria was underlining the lines she found in the book and putting them into her homework. Her green eyes were narrowed and her lip was slightly open, as it was when she focused.
She didn't know how hard she worked, but it took her a while to feel hungry. She opened the bag again and took out a jelly slug. It wasn't a very filling snack, but at least it was sweet.

Studying One Potion a Day Allows You to Make New Friends
Walking through the corridors, Lyanna was very glad to have finally finished her last class that day—Potions. She didn't know what happened to her brain every time she stepped into that classroom in the dungeons, but it felt as if all her knowledge had been drained away from her...how would she ever keep it up her whole seven years of school?! Lyanna needed to do something about it. Study more, ask her friends for learning tips, give herself enough time to do homework...well, she had to start somewhere. So, after walking up three flights of stairs and through numerous corridors, Lyanna finally found an empty classroom. Well, almost empty. There was another girl in the far corner of the room, focused on her work. Lyanna kept quiet though and hoped not to bother her by practicing here too. Sitting down, she opened her potions book and took out her cauldron, ready to start brewing.
Lyanna was finally getting the hang of it in the calm room she'd chosen, and was actually starting to enjoy it! It was certainly a first, and finally she felt as if she knew what she was doing and her common sense helped her along the way. The lessons even started coming back to her, and even though at the time she didn't understand a thing, the more she practiced and tried hard the better her results became. After a long while, Lyanna was finally done with her first potion from the first lesson, and started on her second. It honestly turned out pretty good, so she was very proud of herself.
Making some progress, Lyanna reread the instructions numerous times, just to make sure she knew what she would need to brew the potion. When she was done, she grabbed her ingredients again and added them to her cauldron doing her best not to make mistakes. Now stirring the mixture of ingredients, Lyanna was feeling more and more confident. Would it finally work? Would she finally be able to brew the potion? Well...
BOOM
The the simple answer is: No. Unless you count explosions of course, and her robes and surroundings being covered in an orange-colored liquid, because that's exactly what happened. Lyanna was so shocked she shrieked, for the whole classroom to hear. Luckily for her, the only person there was the girl studying on the other side of the room...

Victoria was so focused on her lesson that she didn't notice a girl walking by. She was so focused on her scroll that she was disconnected from this world.
BOOM
Tori jumped when she heard an explosion. Ink had spilled on the parchment she was writing on and was smeared all over the parchment paper. When a girl screamed, she noticed that someone else had entered the classroom. Even though she couldn't see her hair but she knew that it had turned into a short black spiky shape.
She immediately went to the girl he had just noticed. Maybe she was injured, but she knew it wouldn't be anything the nurse in the Hospital Wing couldn't fix.
She immediately went to the girl and examined her to see if she had any wounds. As he examined it, he began to speak anxiously.
"Are you okay? Are you injured? Is there anything wrong? It's all the same question, but answer it anyway. Do you need to go to the Hospital Wing? I can take you if you want."
She stopped when he needed to breathe. When she looked around, he realized that she was trying to make a potion. But she noticed that there was no pleasant smell coming from the girl's cauldron.
"I think you were making potions. I can help you if you want. I think you're a first year, I can help you. By the way, I'm Victoria Lena Jones. But you can call me Tori or something for short. What's your name?"
Her hair had now returned to its former red color and normal length. Tori held out her hand to the girl.

With tearful eyes from the smoke coming out of the cauldron, Lyanna slowly managed to stand up, coughing. The sleeves of her robes were covered in potion and a bit ripped, so she rolled up her sleeves, revealing a burn on her forearm that didn't look too good. As she looked over at the table she'd been brewing at to try and clear up the awful mess she'd made, Lyanna saw the other girl who'd been studying walk towards her.
There was no use trying to hide what had happened, as the girl undoubtedly heard the loud explosion moments before. Her quick thinking was too slow, because the girl had already her and said: "Are you okay? Are you injured? Is there anything wrong? It's all the same question, but answer it anyway. Do you need to go to the Hospital Wing? I can take you if you want."
Her cheeks reddening as she noticed it really must've looked really bad, Lyanna answered the kind girl; "I-I'm alright I guess, thanks. Well, except my arm, I think it got burned when the potion exploded and-" she broke off, not feeling the need to explain further, motioning to the liquid still on her sleeves and arm, then pulling up her sleeves again to show the girl.
Answering to the girl's next comment, Lyanna was very grateful that the girl wasn't just laughing at her, well, potions skill issue, as you could call it; "Well...as you noticed, I was attempting to brew a potion, because potions is my worst class as you can see. I even managed to make the first one I tried, but the second...
"Thanks again for coming to help, I'd really appreciate it. And yes, I am first year, a Hufflepuff to be precise. Nice to meet you Tori, I'm Lyanna, Lyanna Oak, but you can call me Lya or Lyn whenever too," she smiled.
Noticing Tori's sudden change of hair, Lyanna couldn't stop herself from saying: "Oh wow, are you a metamorphmagus?" She said in awe, "I've always admired people like that! Sometimes, I even wish I was one myself."
