Dale need some help, his charms homework was giving him a bit of trouble. He could just go to the library and textbooks until he understood it, but instead, he decided to owl one of his friends to help him out. Santario was one of Dale's only friends, she was a fellow Slytherin he had bumped into, Dale assumed she was some sort of genius when it came to magical subjects. They had agreed to study together sometime, he would help her with muggle studies, and she would help him with magical studies.

He was waiting for her arrival, he was sitting in his usual spot, the table by the window, his charms notes out and a textbook next to it, his charms homework was on top of the textbook covering one page, he only needed to see one page anyways. He sat there his hands on his head trying to figure out his homework. He hoped Santario would arrive soon he really needed help with this charms homework. He tried to calm himself down and tried to take a new perspective on the homework, but it didn't work very well. He decied to just give up and wait for Santario to arrive, if she did that is.

Santario had gotten an Owl from Dale requesting help with his Charms homework and although she wasn’t in second year, she thought she might be able to offer a second set of eyes or her perspective of things. She grabbed up her book bag and made sure her Charms things were in there just in case they helped for referencing. She was running later than she had intended too but her class had run a little late because she had, had questions. Satisfied that she had everything she grabbed her quill and headed off for the library.

She would slow down once she got to the library doors not wanting to incur the wrath of the librarian for rushing in. So she slowly opened the doors her eyes scanning the room until they landed on Dale. A small smile played with her lips as she made her way over. Though she did note the way that he was looking at his paper and that did not bode well. “Hey Dale” She greeted as she sat down across from him and set her bag down in the chair next to her. “Everything okay?” She wondered how hard his homework was to make him look the way that he did when she had entered the library.

Dale was lost in his thoughts as he blankly stared at his charms notes, he almost gave up on Santario arriving, his owl must have gotten lost or perhaps she couldn't help out on such a short notice just as he was about to get up and start looking for reference books, he heard a very familiar voice. Santario had arrived, she took a sit in front of him, putting her bag down in the seat next to hers. "Hello Santario." He said with a kind smile, she had asked him if he was ok, Dale was a bit embarrassed by that, he supposed he did look like a mess, Hard assignments or homework tended to do that to him sadly. He straightened his back and tried to fix his messy brown hair. "Y-Yeah I'm just a bit, well, stressed." He said with a sigh, he turned his notes and homework around so that she could see them and let out a sigh "I-I am not sure about this one particular question." He pointed out the question and the corresponding section in his notes, it was over the General Counter-Spell, he hoped Santario knew more about it than he did.

Santario if not stopped would reach over and help fix a part of his hair like it was no big deal and to her it wasn’t. If he did stop her, she would just act like she hadn’t even attempted to help. Either way her eyes would then go down to the homework that he slid towards her.  Her eyes moved back and forth as she read over the question and any other notes that he may have had written down. “Ok, let me see your Standard Book of Spells Grade 2.” Since she did not own that book, yet she would need to use his copy of it to find the information she as looking for.

Once she obtained the book, she would hold it with extreme care making sure her hand supported the spine of the book as she started slowly flipping through the pages before stopping on the section of counter curses. As she started scanning through the text, she would bite her lower lip in concentration. “Here it is. So make sure you state that this spell is ineffective against moderate dark charms unless cast by multiple people at the same time. It also won’t work with spells that require a specific counter curse like the Jelly-Legs curse.” She would gently lay his book flat on the table facing him pointing to the text she had found so that he could read it over as well.

She actually loved charms and couldn’t wait to learn this spell herself. The defensive spells were what she was most interested in though she would not scoff at offensive spells as she understood they were equally as important.

Santario reached over and helped Dale fix up some of his hair in the front, Dale's cheek turned a bit red, he wasn't used to people being that close to him, well other than his parents. He assumed it was some sort of sisterly instinct or something along that line. He would ask about it but he didn't want to be more distracted instead he pushed it to the back of his head.

She had asked to see his charms textbook, he gave her the textbook and watched her while she scanned that the text, his arms were propped up onto the table and his hand were covering his mouth, she seemed to be very concentrated on the text, for a second he was worried that maybe she couldn't help him with this one particular spell, but he was happily wrong. He listened intently as she played out what he should write down. She put the book down and pointed out the section she got that information from, he picked the book up and squinted his eyes so he could read the small text. "Alright Ill make sure I add that." He said as he set down the book and wrote down what she had said onto his homework. He scratched the back of his neck and said "There's just one more thing I need help with, and I think this is more up your alley." He pulled out his transfiguration notes, textbook, and homework assignment, which he had given up on hours ago, and said "I'm having issues with number 7, write a situation where Avifors Spell could be used to its best potential." After he said that he opened up his notes and textbook to the appropriate page and slid it to her.

Santario caught the slight flush on Dale’s cheeks but she didn’t understand why maybe he had just become really warm it could get stuffy in the library and he had been in here working himself up about his homework. The one thing that she was naive about was things that could be considered flirting whether she meant them like that or not. Not that she could mean them that way she didn’t really understand what that was. She had moved his hair because it was something, she saw people do for other people, so she just assumed it was polite not to let someone look silly with a hair that out of place.

When he said he had something more up her ally she almost got excited until she saw it was transfiguration. That was literally her worst subject. “You’re joking right?” She was however smiling. “This is my worst subject Dale in my first class I got an… A.” She whispered the grade like she was thoroughly ashamed of it. Granted she had only done one set of homework for Professor Cy and she hoped she would get better if muggle physics wasn’t referenced anymore.

“I mean I don’t even know why this would be useful unless you wanted to cause a small distraction with a ton of little birds but as far as I know this is a decently hard spell to cast and Avis is much easier making more birds at a time.” She thought for a second tapping into her families more nefarious thought process.

“I guess the other reason could be if you wanted to hide the object in question making someone think you had a pet bird instead? Honestly that’s the only conclusions I can come up with… I’m sorry.” She just at this point was not good at transfiguration. The solution that made photos move was technically transfiguration but it was still a potion that needed to be brewed which is why that was still something more up her ally but that class in general she still was unsure of her fate in it. She was considering going to Cy and asking for a private tutoring if she had the time.

Dale seemed to be wrong, for some reason he assumed Santario's best subject, but apparently it was one of her worst. Dale tried to remember why he assumed Santario was good at transfiguration, he remembered back to when they first met, she had said something about transfiguration. Dale racked his brain as he remembered what she had said, "It’s Transfiguration that is going to be a nightmare!" Oh, She had said it was going to be a nightmare. Dale had to start trying to remember things better, life would be easier if he did.

But he did understand her embarrassment in getting the A, while not a failing grade it wasn't something you would admit to getting. "Well, maybe I can help you with transfiguration, while it's not best, its not my worse either." He said with a smile, he felt sort of strange asking for help form the first year, but he had learned to swallow his pride and just take any help he got. It would put him at ease if he could repay the favor by helping her out with her worst subject.

"I thought of using it as a distraction, but I didn't think about the small birds." He said while tapping the back of his pencil against his head. "Well I guess ill just that, I'm sure I got everything else correct, it's just this one that got me." He said with a sigh, maybe he could still get an O, after all its just question he got wrong. "Well that's the last of my homework." He said as with a sigh of relief. "Is there anything I can help you out with?"

At the moment San didn’t need help with anything she had great marks in all of her classes but one and at this point for at least the moment she didn’t care. She would ride the wave of that rebellious feeling for a little while before she decided to approach it later and she had some time yet before her next assignment would be due. “Not now. If I am going to be honest I am still being petty about certain things so I am taking a small break from it before I can come back to it with a new thought process but I will get back to you when I need help.” It was a when and not an if. “But if you don’t need any more help on homework, we can always get to know each other better. I barely know anything about you. Tell me something interesting about yourself.”

It was true they had never really had much of a conversation that didn’t involve something to do with school they knew each other academically but what about on more of a friend level? She considered Dale a friend, but it was also kind of hard to do when she barely knew anything about him.

Santario had said that she did not need help with anything at the moment, he chuckled when she said that she was still petty about a grade she had gotten, Dale hadn't pegged her to be hung over a bad grade for so long. That made Dale realize that he knew very little about the girl in front of him. Apparently, Santario must've been thinking about the same thing as him, as she brought up how they should get to know each other better.

She asked to know something interesting about himself, he thought for a second, "Well, I really love magical creatures, I know about most of them, but my favorites are dragons, Iv studied almost all of the main species! I really hope I'll be able to see one in person one day." He told Santario. He remembered how much he had infatuated with magical creatures during his first year at the magical school, but now he had almost memorized most important facts about the magical creatures detailed in the few textbooks they had lying around in the library. It was probably his favorite subject out of all the magical ones. "So, what about you, anything interesting?"

She watched him as he spoke about an affinity for magical creatures and she watched his face light up when he mentioned dragons in the same way everyone’s does when they speak about things that they love. He mentioned hoping to be able to see one someday and that brought a smile to her face as she watched him. Her smile was truly amazing it took the sharp hardened look out of her sapphire eyes and made it almost unbelievable that she normally walked around with a critical gaze all of the time. “Dragons are truly a fascinating creature I too would love to see one in person but really just to say that I have.” It was true she had no real interest in them beyond that. She did love creatures of all kinds, but she wasn’t passionate about them per se.

When he asked her the same question, she had posed to him it was an easy answer for her. “Well, I love to cook and bake at home.” Ah yes, little San flouncing about the kitchen in a little apron, under her mothers’ watchful eyes, truly adorable. “I also have two career options in mind, I either want to be a healer at St. Mungos like my mom and/or a Potions Master. I’ve been learning about ingredients in-dept since I could comprehend language. All from learning how to grow them and how to properly prepare them.” That sounded more like the analytical San he knew so serious always thinking about her future, but it would seem that the ice around her could melt and show a softer side if perhaps asked the correct questions.

“My mother used to play a game with me. We would ask each other questions but you would have to answer your own question as well so that there were no double questions. Would you like to play?” She figured it would be a way to help them get to know each other better even if it was generic questions. “If not maybe another time we, after all, have plenty of time to get to know each other better.” If he did decide he wanted to play San would pose him the first question a simple one. “What is your favorite color? Mine is a Dark-Hunter Green.”
