Closed Dark Lake Dark Thoughts

Darkness. Hollowness. Depression. Anxiety. Sadness. Betrayal. Deceit. Isolation. "Bah!" I ripped up the poem I was writing. Why can't this be easy?! I thought, as I stared, dejected into the murky waters of Black Lake. I was feeling in an artistically dark mood today and decided to write a poem about it. Nothing seemed to make any sense though. I angrily threw the crumpled piece of parchment in the little black bag that I always carried with me. Then it hit me. A drawing. A painting, to be specific. After all, I thought, this could be a good opportunity for me to polish off my skills. Yes, I thought, this is a very good idea. I gave an especially malicious grin. I quickly took out the small trunk that I had art supplies in it and started to arrange my work table. Soon I had everything I needed. I thought for a bit about what I wanted to paint. Then the idea came to me, wriggling in my subconscious, until it rose like a cloud in my mind. I started quickly, not wanting to lose it. I don't know how much time I spent on it, but by the time I finished and looked up, I saw that it was getting dark. I leaned back and surveyed my art. I painted a skeleton, with a black decaying rose in one hand and a black Saipan, a snake, in the other. The skeleton had a crown of thorns and obsidian around its head. It had an expression of pure agony. there was no background other than what faintly resembled a curtain made out of wine red satin cloth. I was fortunate that my parents had me in painting classes since I could hold a brush. I loved painting and the freedom that it gave me. I then carefully grabbed it and placing all my supplies back in the small trunk, I took my painting straight to the dorms where I hanged it up next to my bed, feeling content. This is my best one yet.
