Denise usually sleeps till late in the morning, for around 10 am. But today she was rudely awoken by her nanny, Mrs. Ortega. Denise yawned at the sudden interruption of her beautiful dream. She was sunbathing at the side of the beach, her Maldives fever hasn't yet settled down.
"Miss you should get ready quickly. You wouldn't want to miss your train on your very first day, would you?" Mrs. Ortega said, politely.
Denise stared blankly at her, unable to comprehend for a while. Wait, Denise thought, Is it already that day?! She turned so sharply towards her calendar that her neck got a sharp ache. Mrs. Ortega flinched at her sudden absurd behaviour, while Denise groaned with agony yet excited. It was finally September 1st! How can she be so forgetful?
She jumped out of her bed and said, "Thank you nanny for waking me up. I will be coming down in a minute."
Mrs. Ortega gave a slight nod and before closing the door said, "Your parents have taken leave from their office for today to be a part of your... very first experience."
Denise was surprised, her parents are still down there waiting for her to join for breakfast? She couldn't believe her luck. It was such a rare occasion to see her parents at home during breakfast despite their busy schedule. She rushed through her preparations and went downstairs.
She was greated by a grin from her mother and father. They had also packed her trunk and kept it near the table.
"Come, sit and eat your breakfast first, Denny." Her mother, Loretta Garcia said, lovingly. Denise hugged her and sat on her chair.
"So, are you ready for today's experience?" Denise's father, Edwin Garcia asked.
"I am not sure. The fact that I have to run through a concrete wall hidden from the Muggles is horrifying enough." Denise replied.
"Don't worry dear, we are after all going with you." Loretta assured.
"Won't it be dad's first time too entering the Platform 3/4?"
"Oh about that, actually no."
Loretta blushed for absolutely no reason but before Denise could ask for the reason, the nanny ushered her to eat quickly and talk less.

♪♪♪

Denise was standing with her trolley in front of the barrier. Time passed way too quickly while travelling in the car. An odd unsettling feeling was forming at the bottom of Denise's stomach.
"Come on Denny, you can do it! Just run through the barrier and we will follow you too." Loretta encouraged.
"I am not ready though..."
"Close your eyes if you have any fear." Loretta said, encouragingly.
Denise gulped, she looked at Edwin and he gave an assuring nod. She looked back at the barrier again, took a deep breath, keeping a firm hold on the handle of her trolley and whoooshhhhhh...

♪♪♪

Denise opened her eyes and found herself in an entirely different zone. It was crowded, noisy, and an odd sense of familiarity wafted around the atmosphere. She flinched at the sudden contact of something soft with her leg and looked down to see several cats roaming around. She looked infront and noticed a vibrantly coloured train waiting, is it the famous Hogwarts Express? Denise thought.
"Was it enjoyable?" Loretta questioned. Both Loretta and Edwin had followed Denise to the other world, the wizarding world.
"Not enjoyable but not bad either for a first-timer like me. Anyhow, can I please take one of these cats with me?" Denise asked.
"No dear. We will buy you one at the Magical Menagerie if possible." Loretta said.
Denise looked upset. Observing her expression Edwin said, "How about on your next birthday?" Denise's face lit up instantly and she asked, "Truly?"
Both Loretta and Edwin laughed and nodded. Denise gave a sign of relief, she was going to Hogwarts after all, no need to get distracted by unnecessary things anymore.

♪♪♪

Denise had boarded the train and waved her parents goodbye already. She was teary but managed to hold it back. Now is not the time to be emotional, but to make new friends, she firmly thought and made her way to one of the compartments. Who knows what awaits her next?

Louisa McStately brushed her eye, attempting to hide the small tear that was attempting to run down her cheek. I will not cry, especially not on my first day! She thought desperately. Checking her reflection in a door of a compartment, she pressed down her robes and a small smile flickered across her face. It had dawned on her that she was going to Hogwarts!

Louisa stoped at an empty compartment and with a nervous, yet excited smile, pushed open the compartment door with a squeak. With an growing excitement, she put down her trunk on the seat and settled herself next to the window. Looking out at the all the families waving and bidding their children farewell made poor Louisa’s smile flicker from her face for a moment. A whole term without her parents! She had never even stayed two weeks without them before!

Wondering if Louisa should have attempted to find a compartment with another student would have been a good decision, but after she considered how embarrassing it would have been to enter a compartment of second years that she thought were first years, she made herself more cosy. Now, the only potential for meeting anyone else before she got to Hogwarts was if they entered her compartment, which had plenty of potential as many students were still boarding the train.

Looking out of the compartment window, Louisa scanned the sea of people for her parents. It took at least a minute for her to spot them, but after a great search she saw them - standing among the others was her family - her father, mother and little brother - all looking around them in shear surprise and probably looking for Louisa in the windows of the Hogwarts Express. The young first year lifted her hand and waved at them enthusiastically. It took a fair amount of waving for her parents and brother to actually notice her, but it seemed as though it was certainly worth it because of her brother’s excited jumping, her fathers huge smile and her mothers inaudible, yet undoubtedly kindly meant shouts when she spotted her.

After the huge exchange of waving had settled itself down, Louisa settled herself, crossed her legs and continued to look out the compartment window. Louisa smiled, a new school, new friends, oh, and the magic. What could ever be better? All she had to do was work on the friends part!

The Clock said it just turned half past eleven when Naveah Crosby entered the Hogwarts Express.
Her dark brown eyes scanned her surroundings. The Train looked pretty comfy, a bit dark in its red and black colours. Very unusual to the modern looking trains that she used to go to before she knew about this magical world.
,,Well here I am.", Naveah thought.
She had imagined a world of flying cars but never would she have expected to go to a magical school in a magical world by a pretty oldfashioned basic Train.

She looked arround, only seeing students a bit older than her talking loudly and having fun.
Naveah grew up in a travel loving family and was used to go from one place to another. She never really made friends because there simply was no time for long time friendships in her life before Hogwarts.
Now there wouldn't be any other options, so her goal for the first year was going to be making at least 2 friends and have halfway good grades.
She put her Butterfly- Boho Braids into a high pony tale and started walking to a compartment. In the compartment sat one girl. She was looking outside the window and seemed sunken deep into her thoughts.
Naveah took a deep breath and opend the compartment door quietly.
She put her luggage on one of the red soft benches and closed the door again.
With quick moves she sat opposite to the other girl, not knowing what to say.
,,Hello. I am Neveah Crosby, whats your name?" , she said hoping that making her first friend wouldn't be as hard as she thought.

Denise was out of breath at this point. Her trunk as heavy as it is, the students in the train were just so many! She couldn't find a single compartment empty, let alone a space for even keeping her toe. Suddenly, Denise was jerked from her postion by the start of the train. Ohh shitt! I will fall at this rate, Densie thought with utter frustration. The rattling of the train made her unsteady and more frantic to get a compartment to just even let her squeeze in.
Suddenly the train gave a sharp jerk, maybe it was turning the corner, slowly entering the magical world. But aside from that fact, it made the compartment door towards the left of Denise open (supposedly it's latch wasn't tied) and Denise, as her fate being, tilted towards her left with the movement of the train and crashed right inside the compartment.
Denise's current position was something like this: the trunk was laying flat on the ground and Denise was sitting above it. Somewhere between how japanese would sit on the ground but the difference being said, she wasn't sitting in the idealistic position. It seemed as if she has unlocked a new yoga pose.
Denise looked up to notice two students already sitting opposite to each other. She blushed extremely hard. It's not fair, she thought, quickly getting up and putting her trunk aside, hurriedly adjusting her dress.
"Umm h-hello?"
Denise still couldn't stop blushing, what the hell was she even thinking?
She sat next to the student with wavy brown hairs and surprisingly bright brown eyes. Atleast she's got to sit somewhere.
"I hope I didn't disturb you guys, right?" Denise gave an awkward laugh but shortly stopped. The awkward silence was making her heartbeat fast... way too fast.

Neveah looked silently at the girl opposite to her. Maybe she didn't speak loud enough. Maybe she doesn't want to talk to her. Maybe she is deaf. Can someone even be deaf in a magical world? Naveah's negative thoughts take hold of her, and she doesn't dare to ask the girl again.

While the other girl was still sunken in her thoughts, Naveah opened her bag and pulled her newest book out.
Her mother had gifted it to her before she had left Ireland for her new school.
"Our wives under the Sea", a very interesting horror novel with touches of wlw romance and emotional balance. And of course about the Ocean, that's the reason why her mama bought that book in the first place.
The calm Ocean feels like Neveahs real home. It's where she doesn't worry about anything. She thinks about the sea and immediately calms down.

The train is about to go and Neveah is already deeply invested in her book as the door of the compartment opens.
A young girl about her age appears through the door holding a big trunk.
Suddenly she slips and somehow lands on her trunk.
Wow impressive, I would have definetly fallen on the ground and broken some of my legs, Neveah thought.

The noise of the little fall down, seems to reach the girl opposite from Neveah.
She looks at the new two girls in the compartment and appears very suprised that she suddenly isn't alone anymore.

Neveah finishes her book page, number 37, looks at the new girl and smiles.
The brunette girl looks a bit shy and says:
"I hope I didn't disturb you guys, right?"

"Oh no you are totally not interrupting, right?!", says Neveah, hoping that her words didn't sound too desperate because she really would want somebody to talk to and looks at the girl opposite from her.

Neveah hovers her luggage under her seat and points to the seat next to her.

The other student sits next to her and a embarrassing quiet moment interrupts.
Naveah swallows, not knowing how to make friends, she switches her head between the two girls and says:

"Hi! My name is Neveah Crosby, I am a first year attendant. Actually, I have no Idea what that means. Like, I know what a first year student is, but I don't know what it's like in a magical school. My parents are non-magicall you know. I didn't know I was magical. I just thought well maybe I had some special features and maybe a little power in me to do some things, nobody could explain but nothing special.
*Okay, I am talking too much* she thought.

Kindly looking at them she askes "What are your names? Sorry that I talk so much, I am a bit nervous."

Rose stood there amongst the crowd with her parents, hugging her mother, Marianna, tightly as a small amount of tears stroll down her happy face whilst her father, Alexander, had a hand on her shoulder, giving the petite girl an approving grin. "I'm going to miss you guys," Rose said quietly as she looked up at their faces. "Hah, you'll do just fine without us girl! Gotta grow up someday. I trust you'll be good?" She glanced at her father and gave him a determined nod, before looking back at Marianna. "Your father is right, baby bird. It's time for you to take flight on your own for the first time." She then moved back and reached into her bag, handing Rose a journal with a flower on the cover. "This is a parting gift. Write in it all that you experience over the year. You will eventually see why." Rose looked at her mother with a confused expression, but could not ask any questions as she was interrupted by the bellow of the train whistle, the conductor giving a final call to get aboard. Her mother kissed her cheek. "Now go, my baby bird." Rose nodded, wiping her tears away, and quickly ran to the train, waving at her folks. "I love you!" They waved back as she quickly entered the train.

Now that it was the final call, the people who were late were rushing to find a seat. Most compartments seemed full, and whatever ones had any room were quickly taken up by the people ahead of her. Finally, she walked by the nearly full compartment and saw the three girls, one being on the floor in a slightly distressed manner as she saw it, and gave them a polite wave as the train rumbled and growled, starting it's movement to the destination everyone was eager to get too. "Sorry, do you have room for one more? Can't find seats anywhere, it's kinda crazy!" Despite her voice being soft-spoken, her tone showed lots of enthusiasm and extroverted energy. Her midnight hair was messy compared to her normal, tame style due to having pushed through many people to get here. And hopefully, these girls were kind enough to let her in. They seemed nice, at least that's what Rose assumed, her excitement only letting her see positivity, though naïve.

Louisa McStately’s eyes fluttered quickly from the window as the door to her compartment was opened and closed with surprisingly minimal sound. Now the girl took her seat opposite her, and began to speak. She smiled sweetly as the other girl introduced herself. She was about to introduce herself when the other girl pulled out a book and began reading. Not wanting to intrude, Louisa politely kept quiet and redirected her attention to the window of their compartment. It was hardly long until the train began to roll. Her smile broadened with the mixture of nerves and excitement. This was it!

As she was immersed in her thoughts for the third time that day, the door to their compartment, which evidently hadn’t been latched, screeched open and a girl with wavy brunette hair, stunning hazel eyes, comes, well, falling in, obviously from the movement of the train. Completely surprised by this turn of events, Louisa looked at the girl who was now seated on the ground with astonishment. As she stood and came to sit next to the other girl, she smiled sympathetically knowing from far to much experience how it was to be in such a situation, “Are you all right? And no no not disturbing at all!”

Louisa smiled as the Neveah girl spoke before speaking too, “I’m Louisa! Uh, what’s your name?” She turned to Neveah, “Sorry I didn’t introduce myself before… Leaving family can, uh, take up your thoughts.” Louisa smiled shyly, hoping she didn’t sound stupid. Her hands began to fidget with her robe as she waited for a response wondering why she couldn’t be better at speaking to other people.

Feeling relieved her compartment had been filled by two people, it came as a great surprise when the door was opened again. Another girl, this one with beautiful black hair that gave the impression that arriving early was far better then late. This girl seemed quite enthusiastic and right now that was what Louisa needed. “Oh, hello! Of course, you can join us.” She moved so as to gesture that there was space next to her. “I’m Louisa. Louisa McStately!” She smiled, a smile that shows her nerves, excitement and even perhaps how much she wants to make friends. Waiting for the others to respond, her hands continue to fidget nervously. Perhaps Hogwarts would be so very wonderful and she wouldn’t miss home so much!

"Oh no you are totally not interrupting, right?!" The girl sitting beside Denise responded. Denise was relieved. “Are you all right? And no no not disturbing at all!” Denise noticed the girl sitting opposite to her showing concern as well. "I am alright, thanks! I am glad I haven't been of much inconvenience to you guys." Denise said, reliving the embarassing situation.
"Hi! My name is Neveah Crosby, I am a first year attendant. Actually, I have no Idea what that means. Like, I know what a first year student is, but I don't know what it's like in a magical school. Denise took some time to comprehend everything in. But all the while it felt relatable.
"What are your names? Sorry that I talk so much, I am a bit nervous." Neveah spoke again. “I’m Louisa! Uh, what’s your name?” Louisa then turned to Neveah, “Sorry I didn’t introduce myself before… Leaving family can, uh, take up your thoughts.”
Denise enthusiastically replied, glancing at both the girls once in a while, "I am Denise Garcia! And I don't certainly think that you spoke much. I would consider that much speaking as normal." Denise wanted to speak more. Getting to know about others felt so nice. But a sudden arrival of someone disrupted her speech.
"Sorry, do you have room for one more? Can't find seats anywhere, it's kinda crazy!" It was a girl, she had jet black hair and in a cool boy cut. Denise appreciated her sense of style personally.
“Oh, hello! Of course, you can join us.”
Louisa stated and Denise nodded in assurance. The more the companions, the better!

Rose breathed a sigh of relief as Louisa and Denise gave their approval and introduced themselves, appearing very grateful. She strolled inside a bit more calmly than her demeanor is showing, then sat down on the cushioned seat."And I'm Rose! Nice to meet everyone." This. Was. Happening! Not only is she going to Hogwarts, but she may have friends on day 1 to boot! She acknowledged each of their appearances, putting names to faces. She seemed mostly intrigued by Neveah's clothing, having never seen overalls before. Not that she was judging, no, it was only mere curiosity. In the end however, she liked how everyone looked. But then again, even if you were an old homeless man losing his hair and having no teeth, she would still find you pretty or handsome. It's never about the outside ever all!

After the moment of memorize and mesmorization, Rose looked out the abnormally clean window, scanning the are for her mom and dad, then gave them a prompt wave as the train was slowly starting to move, giving last chances to say goodbye to their families for the year. Satisfied, she leaned back into her seat with another sigh, trying to calm herself down. She was still visibly excited, but she started to seem calmer. "So...this is it! Gosh, I can hardly contain my excitement," Rose said with as much enthusiasm as she had before.

Louisa looked at Denise as she introduced herself. Denise Garcia? Quite a pretty name! She would of said so too but then it was the girl by the name of Rose who had entered.

Louisa continued to smile as Rose was warmly accepted by the others and now took the seat next to her. She watched as the girl waved goodbye to her family, and then spoke with an enthusiasm that made Louisa smile even more.

Louisa responded without even thinking of what she would say, “I can’t believe it either. Hogwarts…” Louisa’s little face turned into a sort of dreamy look, before she jolted herself back to the reality of the train, and decided to start a bit of a conversation. “So are we all first years? Has anyone been to Hogwarts before?” Louisa asks, assuming that they were all first years by the looks of the others in the compartment, but wanting as much information as she could get about Hogwarts.

Waiting for the others to speak, she settles herself down into the trains movements and let her thoughts quickly take over. Would any of these girls become her friends? And what about rooming? Would they be roommates by any chance? She couldn’t help feeling a little excited by the prospect…
