A Long Fallen Angel
§
Byung-Hee,
As infuriating as earlier messages was, it was still interesting to see your own philosophy on things.
I always believed no duty should come at the sacrifice of freedom, because if any duty would force you off the path you wish to walk then it is not a good duty, or any duty you should give yourself.
It’s been an interesting time doing business with you, but if you’re willing to answer one more question for me. I have one. I don’t expect or require an answer and believe that your last owl will likely be the last owl between us but I’ll ask all the same.
Was there ever a time when you wanted to walk on a different path than the one given?

Dear Mlle. Crane,
If duty were to come with free reign over fate, then duty shall never be fulfilled. There must be a balance of just enough freedom to pull the weight of the barest minimum of business. If the freedom outweighs the need to do, then all shall be lost to the uncertainty of the future.
All who have a set path to follow in life have sometimes wished for another duty, whether they act upon it or not. As for myself, there was once a fleeting juvenile period of attempted rebellion. Short-lasting and as it was, the effort of it was commendable for the possible results. Of course, the time between my youth has worn the common consequences for family disgrace and the ones given to this generation seem soft in comparison.
No matter to the past, however, for I have no want or reason to stray from my own path for a long-forgotten phase. Astrea, however, has much of the time I had and more of an innovative mind than the Neptune business ever would. Perhaps she shall one day take the flight out of the nest of our grasp, but until then she must wait and bide her time. For as much freedom we give her compared to the past, there shall be a way. She just needs to find it. Perhaps she must be the first in millions.
There must be a careful expanse of time before this, take my advice and figure out your own balance. A life of reckless abandon for others is a life of your own taken shortly.
Regards,
Lord Byung-Hee Geon Chou.
Head of Family.
