No, nothing big was happening. He had intended on waiting to give Ernest his grounding until Winter Break, where he would be home for a longer period of time, rather than a sole weekend or a single week. He felt it would be more meaningful.
He wished it was a good morning. But no, he did not even have Coffee put out or in his daily mug. He did not make breakfast, not yet anyways. Maybe later. He was still in his star-studded pajamas and was barefoot, just as he always was. It was time for a room check, and to wake up the others if they haven’t already.
First call. He stood at the edge of the hallway and yelled, at the top of his lungs, “WAKE UP SLEEPYHEADS! A new day has begun. If you are grounded, please do not grab toys or anything that make you happy. I do not want to have to take it away from you and make the grounding worse. I’m choosing to be the nice person. When I open these doors, there will be nothing against the expectation I have highlighted. Now, if you’re sleeping, wake up.”
He stood outside Clark’s bedroom door, slightly opening it to see if his gremlin son was in the room. He didn’t want to have to add onto Clark’s ongoing grounding from his behavior at Hogwarts.
Octavius moved on to check Ben and Simon’s room. They were in there just as Clark was in his. They were all reading. Final room. Ernest’s.
“Ernest.” He said before he knocked on the door once. He paused a second, his hand put on the doorknob and he opened the door to look in.

A song was playing, the origin of the noise from the Living Room, it wasn’t too loud nor was it too quiet. A song called One Voice. It was Simon’s favorite song when he was a youngster.
[Audio: youtube]
Some kids have and some kids don’t
And some of us are wondering why
And mom won’t watch the news at night
Too much stuff making her cry
We need some help
Down here on Earth
A thousand prayers
A million words
But one voice was heard
A house, a yard a neighborhood
Where you can ride your new bike to school
A kind of world where mom and dad
Still believe the golden rule
Life’s Not That Simple
Down Here On Earth
A thousand prayers a million words
But one voice was heard
One Voice, One Simple Word
Hearts know what to say
One dream can change the world
Keep believing ‘til you find your way
Yesterday while walking home
I saw a kid on newberry road
He pulled a pistol from his bag
and tossed it in the river below
Thanks for the help
Down here on Earth
A thousand prayers, a million words
But one voice was heard
One voice was heard

Octavius didn't really bother to look into his room as much, only to see if there was a person, a being in the room. He felt like he saw one, so he just closed the door and turned around, walking back to the kitchen. Now, if that was not Ernest, Octavius wouldn't know what he saw at all. Anything can seem like a figure nowadays, it seems, especially with his eye sight.
He figured he might as well make himself a cup of coffee. When he made the cup of coffee, he moved onto trying to figure out what breakfast would be.
Naw, today was a day to laze around. It was Saturday, he didn't have work! So, whatever was done today, he felt the bare minimum should at least be done.

Permission given by @Prat Pass for some godmoddingSudden disappearance, a thing that Elisa loathed more than anything else, if daresay even more than spending time with her mother, Afterall the last time someone in her life disappeared, it ended up being terrible for her, leaving her with a life long hatred for them. Ernest had always been the social type, the last thing Elisa had expected was him to disappear out of blue during the winter holidays especially after how they'd spent last years Christmas eve together, she was expecting something like that to repeat again, not as friends but rather as couples. Leaving her selfish plans, the young blonde did try communicating with her newly discovered cousin, Prat who seemed close with Ernest but for her disdain, neither did he have an idea of where the goblin had disappeared.@Ernest Baird, @Prat Pass and @Octavius Baird
Before they could realise much, there she was in Perth, Scotland along with the annoying company of Prat whom she had bribed some galleons to shut his mouth in front of his or her parents about this new antic of hers, but then again if Ernest was in some trouble, she cant just let him suffer through it, knowing well of how boring yet ruthless his adopted father, the one and only ex professor Baird could be. Elisa sighed for the eight time with her nose buried inside a map, she recalled Ernest telling her of where he lived once but the long train ride from London to Perth with the company of Prat and other muggles speaking of illogical things had left her memory vague but she was ready to bet with anyone, even a stranger that Ernest's house gotta be part of some neighborhood, she remembered hearing of it from him.
Elisa continued to walk in whichever direction seemed right according to the map while not even bothering to turn back for a second to see if Prat was even behind her, Afterall if he did get separated from her, it would be less of a curse and more of a blessing from the heavens, bestowing her a moment of peace. After what felt like hours, Elisa was finally able to locate the exact area in the map as an expression of relief plastered her face, the worse thing that was left for her was to get lost in a whole new country especially in the presence of someone who was visiting Scotland for the very first time, just like her..Elisa knew it was too late now to back off as she moved towards the area she had previously located as the neighborhood where Ernest's house was supposed to be in, while her mind was full of self esteem, a thought remained in the back of her mind, what if her parents find out of where she was? Would they be pissed off to know she sneaked out of house while they were away, once again?
Before Elisa could go into the depths of her overthinking mind, she stopped on her foots looking at a house, the same as the one described by Ernest, looking at the surroundings was quite helpful in realizing, this indeed was the goblin's home, "We are here" she finally spoke to Prat as she looked at the house, it was not as big as her family estate but it seemed much more comfy, Elisa slowly walked towards the door, and pressed the doorbell, whatever she was going to face was for the future her to deal with..

AEIOUSA𝔭rat couldn't help but stay still as his stomach churned with anxiety. Trailing behind Elisa, his eyes darted around the unfamiliar landscape of Scotland. The cold wind nipped at his features, a stark contrast to the warmth and comfort of the london home he had left behind. All for the pleas and begging from his Cousin, Elisa. When she approached him with her desperate plea for help. By Present time however, he now found himself questioning his decision to come along this annoying chatterbox of misery and stubbornness along with hints of recklessness . The girl as he was already aware was stubborn as a mule even though he was the only thing keeping her from wandering into a muggle's home on accident.
Despite all his reservations, Prat knew he could not let Elisa alone figure out whatever trouble might have had befallen Ernest. The goblin boy was someone he considered a friend, even if he might refrain from agreeing so. Moreover, the urgency in Elisa's eyes that told him this was more than just another whimsical adventure for her; She seemed genuinely concerned for the shrekson.
The scenery of Perth was quite breathtaking, in all its cobblestone streets and ancient architecture that seemed to whisper secrets of centuries past shall they find one willing to listen. Prat was not a fan of puzzles usually and navigating this uncharted territory was certainly similar, specially with his annoying cousin leading the charge. The map Elisa had been clutching in her hand for so long began to appear as if it had been through a war. Creases and smudges covered the ink.
Finally, after an eternity long walk in circles and arguing over which way to go, Elisa stopped in front of a quaint shack. As Prat would put it, the shack had a certain charm that was undeniably goblin. Prat couldn't help but feel a pang of excitement, mixed with a dash of trepidation perhaps. Hoping they weren't about to walk into a trap set by Ernest's relatives.
Elisa finally spoke to him the words he had been waiting to hear. "We are here," she announced. Prat nodded solemnly to her voice that sounded like a donkey (it doesn't he just kinda hates her), pushing his glasses up the bridge of his nose. "Looks like it," he murmured, as he sweeped over the house one last time. He couldn't help but wonder if this was a vacation home or an outhouse, Perhaps a guest house and the rest of Baird estate was in some other block of the town.
Prat's hand trembled slightly while he reached out to knock on the door. The sound of the wood echoed through the quiet street, His heart hammered in his chest. He was not sure if it was excitement or fear coursing through his veins. The door swung open to reveal a man, who studied them both with a scrutinizing gaze. "Octavius Baird," he introduced himself. Of course Prat knew him, the Ex-Professor.
Ignoring his thoughts, Prat stepped forward, putting on his Lovely charm as he pulled out an aged bottle of wine that he had pilfered from his grandpa's collection. "Hello, Mr. Baird," he began, his voice sounding much more confident than he felt. "I'm Prat, and this is my cousin Elisa. We're friends of Ernest's and we've come all the way from London to visit him. We were worried when we couldn't find him for the holidays and hoped he might be here."
Prat's hand remained steady as he offered the bottle of wine to Mr. Baird. Prat smirked, knowing full well that the ex-professor could never afford such a luxury on his meager salary. It was a small victory, but it gave him a smidge of the upper hand in this tense situation. "A small token of Greeting for you, From my Father of course."

Since Ernest is deactivated and I have permission to continue this thread (mostly with the intent of clark engaging with the others, except Ernest, he is just not someone to rp with in this thread)He saw people in his doorway. What the fuck. Kids. His former students. Elisa, the snob who really didn’t seem to learn anything from his class, and Prat. Did anyone ever tell him what his name meant? It felt kind of funny to call him Prat, almost as if calling the dwarf human [aka kid] an idiot.
“Hey little ones. Oh, a gift from your dad?” He asked in an inquisitive tone. He looked out the doorway, looking above their heads. “Is that right?” He double checked, looking around again. “Where is he then?”
He felt a bit suspicious. Hopefully these kids lived closely around here. “Yes. Well. You may be here for Ernest, but the dear boy cannot leave the house. He is grounded for sneaking out with this little girl standing besides you.”
He murmured, looking into her eyes. “Prat.” He started, now adding in the girl. “Elisa. You two, I’ll send an owl to your parents, notify them that you’re at my house, if they’re truly expecting you to appear here, but if not, trust that I will hear about it.”
The man concluded, snatching the bottle of wine out of Prat’s hand. “You may come in. Elisa, go to our guest room, and Prat, you will share a room with Clark, that is not a question for you to challenge.” He pointed them towards the rooms.
The guest bedroom being the first bedroom on the right upon the girl’s turn past the living room. For the boy, he marched down the hallway, flinging Clark’s bedroom door open. “You’re sleeping on the floor, Clark. Prat is here. Let him have the bed.”
He could tell Clark didn’t want to do it, a look of ravenous slaughter intention struck across his expression. “Don’t. Hurt. Him. Or I will drag you out by your ears and do what I don’t want to do, punish you further. I hate doing this, so behave.”
He moved out of the doorway to allow Prat in.
“Did you all bring your clothes?” He looked in their hands. “Clark, share your cloth–” He caught himself as he did a mental scan on the size difference between the two. “Actually, let me get Simon.. or Ben, they’re both about the same height as you.”
Octavius walked out of the room and across the hallway to the top right bedroom in that hallway. “Simon. Can you loan one of our guests some of your clothes so they have something clean to wear?” Simon grabbed a pair of shorts and a t-shirt. “Something nice, Simon.” A groan.
“Simon, if you don’t grab something nice, I’ll have him come in here to grab something tomorrow or tonight, if he sleeps in pajamas.” Simon reached into the drawers, pulling out a boxer, a pair of jeans, a button-up longsleeved plaid green and yellow shirt and a pair of socks. Additionally, he pulled out a pajamas.
He walked back into Clark’s room to hand Prat clothes. “Here. Thank Simon when you see him.” Octavius walked back towards Elisa’s room, the Guest Room, and knocked to give her a notice of precaution. He opened the door slowly, now looking at her. “Did you bring clothes today? I don’t have any girls clothes. I don’t have a daughter. We can go to a store tomorrow and buy something for you. Uhh, if you’re okay with wearing boys clothes, I could probably ask one of the boys to give you something?” He granted her a half smile before excusing himself to leave.
Octavius called out loudly, trying to proclaim down the hallway as loudly as he possibly could so everyone could hear him. “House Rule number one, do not hurt anyone, especially the guests. If a guest hurts you, let me know and I will deal with them personally. House Rule number two, go to sleep at 10pm. House Rule number three, you will eat all meals offered without wasting food, there are no exceptions. Finally, House Rule number four, I do laundry every night, so if you have clothes you need to change into, please do so now and hand me your dirty laundry so it can be washed so you have something clean to wear.” He clammed up, walking into his bedroom and grabbing down a parchment and proceeding to put to use his writing skills again.
Octavius walked out of his bedroom rolling up the parchment and grabbing a red ribbon. He walked past the kitchen again, his eyes leading him to believe that it is an absolute necessity to obtain coffee. To whom it may concern,
For those of you who have kids by the name Prat Pass and Elisa Shakestra, please be aware that they have appeared at my house this morning just as I woke up. These kids, I will not allow them to leave my property or my watchful and monitoring eyes so that they are not put into any harm with anyone.
If you feel the need to check my background, my name is Octavius Baird and I presently work at the Ministry of Magic making Wanted Posters. I worked at Hogwarts in 2023 as the Astronomy Professor. My information can all be found in details if you wish to look for it at the Ministry.
The kid they came to see is of my once-a-fling of a woman’s son. The only reason this son is with me is because I have legal custody to watch over him until he graduates Hogwarts, and that he is related to my biological son. So, I suppose I have to say that this unrelated son of mine living in this house is who these kids came to see.
I live at [insert address]. Please knock at my door if you feel so compelled to show up. PS, thank you for the wine, father of Prat.
If you are okay with these kids staying for the remainder of the break, please shoot me an owl back so I know to buy enough food and to buy Elisa enough clothes. Prat is just borrowing clothes from my children.
- Octavius Baird
He grabbed himself a mug from the cabinets, definitely much higher than Clark could reach, then poured into the mug the coffee he made. He tucked the rolled up parchment loosely in his armpit as he held the mug and walked down the hallway to see if Clark had his owl in his room or if the owl was somewhere else.
Octavius opened the door again, looking around, before pulling his body back out and leaving the door open. He lifted his arm to take a sip and without being aware, the parchment fell onto the ground.

He heard a knock at the door, refusing to leave his room. Now, he might be stupid and lazy but he sure as hell will not be the one responsible for getting himself killed if there happened to be a murderer that went to each door and killed someone. Stranger Danger is a saying after all.
Now, he heard his father talking and he heard his goblin brother's name being said. Right, this had to be one of his friends. As the door to his room was opened by Octavius, as he was showing Prat where he'd stay if he were permitted to, Clark stuck out his tongue at him, making a face that was way too immature for him, something toddlers would do.
He only did so when Octavius was not looking, thinking he'd get the upper hand. He walked over casually to Prat, thinking he's all big shot, when he was really like a foot or so shorter than the giant kid in his room. "Hello... who the hell are you? What the hell do you think you're doing showing up in my goddamn house? You don't belong here." He said sharply and he said flat-out, thinking he was bringing his point across. But he only said so in a hushed and ragged whisper, so that hopefully his own father would not hear him since he was getting the clothes from Simon.
"Hah, at least you don't get to wear my super cool clothes." Clark pulled out pajamas with Spiderman's head in the center of the torso, the majority of the shirt being light gray and the sleeves being long and sky blue. The pajama bottoms he didn't want to bring out were peeking out of the drawer, matching the sky blue color of the sleeves with thousands of Spiderman's own faces up and down the bottoms.
Sure, he was not cool, he only wore what his dad bought him and his dad bought him clothes that fit him, but he felt that at least he was cool... even if his own eyes were deceiving him. "I bet Simon has better clothes, we could match." Oh god, now it sounded like he was trying to make friends. GROSS.
No, he needed to make himself seem repulsive. "I fart a lot in my sleep." Was that enough? Hopefully it was.@Prat Pass @Elisa Shakestra

AEIOUSA𝔭rat looked down at the shorter kid before him, faint signs of a smirk tugged at the corner of his mouth. The boy's attempt to sound tough and intimidating was almost comical to Prat. Prat's mind filled with amusement yet confusion at the sheer audacity of this pint-sized individual's verbal challenge, that too to his presence. The irony of his own actions was not lost on him however. It was clearly not his home but other kid's. He was here, in a place unfamiliar for someone else, a little man, but a different one. Yet he was being accused of not belonging when never claimed to. This place was far smaller for his comfort than the usual rooms he had lived in throughout his life.
Prat decided to play along, his voice a gentle rumble as he responded, "I see you're the dwarf of the Baird manor i've heard about before. Well...if you consider this a manor. However, I must admit, I'm surprised by the philanthropy of your lord and master. Mr Baird seems quite generous to allot a whole chamber for a pet." Prat was jesting, he wasn't about to let the tension in the room deter him from his reason for arrival, he came here for a reason and would have to soon face consequences once he went back home. He took another step closer, his shadow looming larger over the smaller figure, and leaned in slightly.
Prat feared at the thought of cramming his muscular frame (he's delusional) into the tiny pajamas. "As flattering as your clothes are, I'm quite content with my own," he mused, ignoring the absurdity of the situation. He decided to answer him back with a gentle ribbing. "I'm sure your father is ever so grateful on how he needs to rummage through the infant section in order to find clothes that fit you," Prat teased, watching the boy's face for any signs of offense. "But what are you wearing?? how did you get Spiderman in the wizarding world??" He hoped his words would be taken seriously, exactly in the manner they were intended, prat needed to know what wizarding store sold spider-man merch.
Disgust, from within was what Prat felt at the sheer crudeness of this boy. It was clear he was quite desperate to maintain some form of his previous dominance in this room. Prat's nose wrinkled in disgust, his mind befuddled with the absurdity of this conversation he longer wished to a part of. Prat quipped, his tone sarcastic. "It's quite the talent, I must say, to be able to fart both from your backside and your mouth."

Clark snorted. "The Baird Manor is my cousin's house, we're just the Baird Household here. And screw you too! I'm no one's pet! I need dad to move your sleeping spot to the basement where you can sleep uncomfortably as possible in the cauldron, this is not going to work out. You're just going to end up with a snake bite and die of venom." Clark let the last word linger before he spoke again, "whoops." A smile appeared on his face.
He felt a bit offended that Prat would say his clothes were from the toddler section of the shop and he couldn't figure out how to counter, so he tried what he thought he could do, deflect. "At least it's cheaper." Then a question about the spiderman pajamas.
Would he be an idiot if he said what he was going to say, when it seemed that Prat was asking an honest question, no sarcasm or jokes in his voice.. yes. He was. "The toddler section." He replied back, thinking what he said was a cool remark. Nay, it was dumber than candles without the string.
He walked closer to Prat, holding up the pajama shirt. Prat was much too big. Well, Clark wouldn't be able to make Prat look cool then. That's fine, he can look like an idiot. Clark resumed his talking, "Fine, we do not normally shop for clothes in the Wizarding World, finding it to be limited in selections. The muggles are pretty cool, they have a lot more choices so we go shopping there." He wanted to extend an invite for Prat to join the next time they go muggle-store-shopping.@Prat Pass

Octavius could very much so hear the hushed whispering from Clark's room, the conversation, the walls were thin! They didn't live in a huge manor, they weren't filthy rich. Now, he heard the comment on the pajamas and ignored it, knowing Clark would just make a fool of himself. He heard the comment on sending Prat to the basement, no. Octavius wasn't going to do that.
He just ignored basically everything that came out of Clark's mouth, tired of having to correct such a belligerent and ignorantly behaved kid. He groaned, but perked up, his face brighter than it was a moment ago. "Elisa, can I ask you a question now that Prat isn't sharing the room with you?" He didn't care what her answer to him was going to be as he just proceeded to ask the question. "Do you guys have permission to be here? I have written a letter and I want to make sure you have permission, if not, I will take you guys back." He didn't say anything about the bottle that Prat gave him, knowing he was going to intentionally save it for New Years Eve, as it was coming up in a few days.
"No one is going to see Ernest, I said that already, but if you wish to talk to my other kids, you're free to do so. Clark is in his room right now, as is Simon and Ben. They all might be grouchy so.. if you wish to slap them, be my guest." He said jokingly.@Elisa Shakestra

AEIOUSA𝔭rat's eyes narrowed at Clark's words, his inner thoughts racing. "Baird Manor - Baird House, makes no difference to me.," his words pouring out before he could care. The mention of his potential fate in the basement cauldron only fueled his defiance. The audacity of this wild beast to threaten him with a snake bite! "I'm not afraid of your snakes, Clark," he said out loud, his voice dripping with sarcasm, "but I am a bit concerned about the possibility of your teeth marks on my ankles. Who knows what diseases you might carry?" A smirk tugged at the corner of his mouth, mirroring the one that had so recently been on Clark's face. "if i was you, i'd be worried about living down there," he added.
Prat eyed the pajama shirt of clark's, watching as Clark held it up to his own body with a hopeful expression. He had to admit, the lad had a point about the muggle world's fashion choices. Sometimes the fashion in wizarding world could feel a bit... antiquated. The shirt was definitely not going to cut it for someone his size, but he found the whole situation rather amusing. "Fair enough," he said aloud, his voice a blend of defeat and acceptance. "Muggles do make interesting things."
Inwardly, Prat couldn't help but consider the idea of shopping in the Muggle world. It had been quite a while since he had been to a Muggle store, the last time being a rather chaotic trip with his friends from school. But the prospect of seeing those stores once again, navigating the colorful, noisy chaos of a Muggle shopping center was too good to not even be considered. It would definitely be a welcome distraction from his usual magical world interaction. Plus, there might be some decent food involved, and the possibility of getting those "smartphone" things back in his hand. Prat quickly slipped into the comfortable muggle attire that Octavius had borrowed for him from one of clark's brothers. He couldn't help but laugh at the idea of Clark sleeping on the floor. He looked down at the pajama shirt. Their material was soft, and the fit, though snug, was comfy and allowed for a surprising range of movement then thought possible. With a grin, he plopped into bed.

It mattered to Clark the difference, because he was well aware that his immediate family was not as rich as his dratted cousin's family.
What the hell was wrong with this giant kid? "Hey, you're a fucking prat." He said, wondering what else he could say to try and counter the degrading comments about him. He spent a second trying to think of a comeback when the final word after mentioning him biting his ankle.. resurfaced in his head. "What the hell do you mean.. me being worried about living down there?"
If Prat was intending on picking him up and locking him behind the basement door. He knew that if Prat did that, he'd get the upper hand. He sighed, there was no point in resuming that section, he didn't want to be locked up behind a wooden door.
"So you do admit it. Muggles are better!" He said, a tone of triumph in his voice, a wild grin plastered on his face.
But he wouldn't linger long on that either, as he would turn away from Prat, staring at his bed, thinking about getting into it before Prat does.
But alas, he didn't even act on his thoughts. Prat got dressed in the space pajamas, and stole his bed. But when he saw Prat in the pajamas, he bust out laughing, tears streaming down his face. "You look like a fucking dork!" He said, but while laughing, his next few words were a bit jagged. "Turn around, I'm changing into different pajamas."
He took his time though, mostly because he had to find it. He wasn't immediately handed one option. He had paw patrol prints, construction truck prints, dinosaur prints, superman prints, batman prints, rocket prints, star prints, and plain ones. He figured he'd wear the batman pajamas because why not? He couldn't look worse than that awful peasant lying in his bed.
Of course, he was trying to decide between three options, [option one: pajamas with black short sleeves and black pants. The shirt has a print of batman's drawn torso], [option two: a hooded onesie with the full comic batman and the black hood with bat ears on it], and [option three: a shirt with neon green short sleeves with a print of a scene from the lego batman movie with the joker. It was paired with neon green shorts or could be paired with blue pajama bottoms that have the batman logo up and down the legs.].
He chose option two, stripping down to his neon green briefs, but again warning Prat to keep his head turned away. "I will summon a snake on you, and no, it will not be me biting your ankle. It will be an asp viper." He put his left leg through the zipper section on the back, standing on one foot. The more he moved his left foot to try and get it through the left leg hole, he put more weight on his left side, and to try and balance it out, he tried to lean back onto the right side, forcing his foot to stand on the tippy toes.
Well, it was a bad idea. He fell backwards with a thud, a glass frame falling off of his shelf and onto his face, the fall knocking the wind out of his chest.
He muttered. "Damn it." He didn't even finish getting dressed. Maybe no one heard him fall hard onto the ground. He pulled his left foot out of his pajamas and threw it onto the ground, now picking up the glass shards.@Prat Pass
