“That is why I got here early, well and because my mother had to work a lot in August and this month. So, leaving early allowed both of my parents to see me off.” Her parents were clearly important to her so even though she had a little less time with both before school started, she at least got to be seen off by both of them. So far she had not felt so comfortable so quickly with someone maybe it was just because Dale was another Slytherin and he seemed nice. He would probably make a great friend and friends was something she had decided she needed.

When he asked her about her homework it pulled her back out of her thoughts. “This is Charms homework which I am fairly certain I will be good at. It’s Transfiguration that is going to be a nightmare! I don’t understand why we need to understand muggle physics and I heard it takes muggles years to understand physics how does she expect 11 year olds to be able to understand it?” She obviously seemed a little miffed by it. Maybe she hadn’t gotten the grade she had expected from the class because for someone who so far was exceeding quite well in classes it was a slap to the face for her.

“Sorry I didn’t mean to just erupt like that.” She would bite her bottom lip as she stared at her feet while they started down the stairs. ‘1, 2, 3, 4, 5…’ She counted the stairs in her head involuntarily. She never understood why she did it but it happened all the time randomly. “It’s just a little frustrating that’s all.” She allowed herself to take a deep breath to calm down she couldn’t even understand why she was so upset about it, maybe she just expected too much from herself.

Hearing the girl talking about her parents made Dale a little homesick, he hadn't got to spend much time with his parents over the summer. He had to stay at summer camp for the majority of his summer. It was nice talking to Santario, she was very easy to talk to, Dale was usually quite nervous while talking to new people, but not Santario.

"Transfiguration is my worse subject." Almost all magical subjects gave Dale trouble, but he was able to do well in all of them, thanks to countless hours of studying. "Muggle physics is actually my best subject, but I have no idea why they must teach us physics at a wizarding school." Dale shook his head, while he still enjoyed physics, it was a very difficult subject, school would be easier without it.

He followed Santario down the stairs, making sure not to trip and fall, that would be quite embarrassing. "It's ok I completely understand your frustrations." Dale assured the girl. "Maybe I'm the one who needs help, charms are very hard for me"

“Well maybe I just can’t be perfect at everything” She chuckled nervously. “Don’t get me wrong I understand why transfiguration is important. We wouldn’t be able to make our photos move without it.” Santario loved photography almost as much as she loved cooking and making potions. So far it seemed transfiguration was her worst subject, but she had only had 3 so far. Next would be her DADA class so she would just have to wait and see how that went. “I’ve never studied any muggle subjects not in an actual school. My parents and grandparents taught me everything I know they were too afraid that we might get discovered because we lived in a muggle town.” She shrugged a little as the continued down the stairs.

When he mentioned that charms were hard for him, she looked up at him and smiled. “Well maybe we can try to study together sometimes, and I can try to help you work through anything that maybe just isn’t clicking and vice versa.” As the descended the final steps of the stairs she looked over to the right and pointed at the library doors halfway down the corridor. “There it is. I use that corridor up there as a little cut through from the third to the first floor. It seems so far to cut most of my travel time down and you don’t get a lot of the clog up that I’ve seen happening in the main corridors.” She started down the corridor towards the library wondering how many other students would be there.

"And then where would we be without photographs yelling us constantly." He shook his head, while he found the photographs cool, he also found them a little bit annoying. They were a bit jarring to Dale, and he never knew if a photograph was a moving one or a regular one. "Ahh, so you where homeschooled, that's cool." Homeschooling was something Dale really wanted, he wouldn't have to talk to people and his dad can teach him chemistry almost all day, but sadly his parents where to busy with work. "I attended a regular muggle school up until arriving at Hogwarts, I was really good at muggle studies." he wished he could continue to attend muggle school sometimes.

Santario had suggested studying together, "I think that's a good idea, we are heading to the library, but I have to do some self-studying for astronomy first, perhaps another day?" He saw the could see the grand doors of the library at this point, Dale assumed it would be quite packed, he would just grab the book he needed and then leave for his dorm, or lake. "The library would be quite packed at this time of day, maybe on a day it is less packed we can study together?" he asked the girl.

She would chuckle when he spoke about photos yelling at them. “Not all of them make noise they can be very beautiful.” She herself had a moving photo that she had taken of her parents in the autumn and her father had developed it for her. It was the gift he had given her when she had gotten on the train. Sometimes the frame could be found in her book bag but most of the time it sat by her bed. “I wasn’t really allowed to have any friends or go to a muggle school.” Her voice dropped to a melancholy lilt. “Most of my family members powers came about when they were really young and they feared exposure. I was allowed to see them outside on school until my magic showed but after it showed all I could do was watch from afar. That was 4 years ago.”  This poor child secluded for 4 years with no kids to play with it certainly gave light to why she acted so maturely.

“Yes, another day, I honestly do not wish to be in such a crowded library so I will probably head to the gardens. I have found that I can find a quiet place behind the greenhouses to study so far and the professor there has never said anything to me about it. Probably as long as I don’t disturb any of the plants.” As they neared the library, she would stop short and offer another smile seeming to very much not want to even enter the packed library. “Well, it was wonderful to meet you Dale and I wish you the best of luck with your Astronomy studies.” Emotion was withheld and she seemed hard to read once more.   

"I suppose I could give the things another chance." Dale did want a moving photograph of him and his parents, but he had no idea how to make a moving photograph. He would have to pick up a book on them, or perhaps ask a professor for help. He listened intently as the girl explained her past, the poor girl wasn't allowed to see anyone here age for years. Dale had wondered why the girl sounded and acted sp mature, this definitely explained it to him. "Well if you couldn't make friends back then, there's always now." That was quite hypocritical coming from him, he himself had very little people whom he considered friends. "I'm sure you'll do fine in making friends."

"Well if you want a more scenic spot, I recommend the hill by the great lake, there usually aren't many people there at all during this time of the day." He loved that spot by the lake, it was his favorite spot to read and relax, he sometimes even took naps out there. He looked at the grand wooden doors of the library and then looked at the girl, "Well I guess this is where we part ways, it was also wonderful talking to you." He said with a kind smile. "Thank you, I wish you luck with you charms homework." He said while entering the crowded liabrary.

“Thank you.” She would say before Dale left for the library both for recommending the spot by the lake and for wishing her luck on her Charms homework. She watched him enter the library and smiled to herself. “He seems nice, maybe a new friend.” She whispered to herself as she turned and made her way away from the overcrowded library. Readjusting how her bag strap sat on her shoulder she would walk down the corridor and out into the warm sunshine. She would make her way round the lake and up onto the hill. It would appear the boy had been right and there was no one here at the moment. So with that she would sit herself down and pull out her charms notes, a fresh roll of parchment, her ink well, and a quill. Getting everything settled comfortably she would then get to work on her charms homework. Allowing herself to occasionally get distracted by the beautiful view and the warm sunshine. Deciding after a while that maybe this was just to beautiful of a spot to ignore it the first time she was here after all she had plenty of time to get her charms homework finished and rushing to get it done would not grant her the grade she wanted. So for now she would enjoy the scenery.
