The E.M. Journal

Elvenia's journal was a surprise gift from her grandfather, Gilbert. It's a medium-sized, blue journal with her initials, "E.M.", on the cover. She decided to use it for many things—writing her school and astronomy notes, doodling, planning her day, and even writing poems. Every day, she writes about what happens, how she feels, and any special plans she has. It’s a place where she keeps her thoughts, ideas, and creative moments. She writes with her prized peacock feather quill which she bought at the starting of her second year.

Dear Journal,

Today, I finally decided to write my first entry in this lovely journal Grandfather Gilbert gave me. It was such a surprise when I opened the package! The blue cover with my initials, "E.M.", on it is simply perfect. I’ve decided to use it to keep track of my class notes, daily tasks, and write about how my days go.

Speaking of which, I’m so excited for the Autumn Ball! I can’t wait to go with Aria—it’s going to be amazing. We’ve been talking about it for days now, planning what we’ll wear and how fun it’ll be.

As for today, the weather was quite cloudy and windy. I spent my evening strolling through the grounds, just enjoying the cool air. It was peaceful, and the breeze felt refreshing after a busy day of classes. I think I’ll take some time tomorrow to plan for the week ahead.

This journal is already proving to be the perfect place for my thoughts. I'm really going to enjoy filling it up.

Dear Journal,

Today has been nothing short of amazing, and I’m thrilled to be writing about it in my journal again. There’s something so satisfying about putting thoughts to paper, almost like it helps me relive the best parts of my day.

Classes were interesting, but what really caught my attention today was our discussion about Real Astrology versus Entertainment Astrology in our Astronomy class. The difference between the two was clearer than ever. Real Astrology focuses on studying the alignment of celestial bodies and their effects in a more scientific context. It’s all about how the movements of planets and stars might impact the natural world....there’s actual research involved!

On the other hand, Entertainment Astrology is what most people see in horoscopes and astrology columns. It’s mostly for fun, making general predictions about people's lives based on their zodiac signs, without any real scientific backing.
While I understand why some people enjoy it, I think Real Astrology is more meaningful. I prefer science, really… and if I’m being honest, I’ll always choose astronomy over astrology!

Later after classes I thought to catch up with my friends and spend some time with them and then went to the library for some extra reading. Library's quite atmosphere is always so relaxing. Spent some few hours there and when the sun set, I picked up my things and went back to my common room.

In the evening, I found myself drawn to my telescope. I spent a bit of time cleaning it, preparing for a late night stargazing session. The Ravenclaw common room window is such a perfect spot for stargazing. Sometimes I stay up later than I should, just to catch a glimpse of a shooting star or maybe discover a new constellation. Tonight, I couldn’t resist setting up the telescope after dinner. The sky was so clear and the stars seemed to shine a little brighter as if calling out to me.

I’ve also been thinking about organizing my tasks a bit better. With so many assignments coming up, it seems like a good idea to plan out my week. I’ve sketched out some notes here in the journal to keep track of everything. It’s nice having a system...there’s something so satisfying about checking things off as I go along.

All in all, today has been a productive and inspiring day. Now, it’s time for me to get some rest before tomorrow. There’s always something new to learn and I’m ready for it! Good night!

Dear Journal,

After so many long days, I again stumbled upon this journal when I was cleaning my shelves. How can I even forget about this? It was not long when I decided that I would write in my journal atleast once a week, but here I am, forgetting about this lovely journal. But now...hopefully I will again start my journey in these fresh pages.

It has been snowing for the past few days, covering everything in a blanket of white. The world really looks like a magical winter wonderland. Christmas was a lot of fun this year. I spent the day with my friends having snowball fights and laughing so much that our cheeks turned red. But unfortunately, Brookie wasn't there, and that made me feel quite lonely sometimes, who wouldn't want their best friend with them during Christmas?
Anyways, as it was really cold, we warmed up by the fire in the common room with hot chocolate, sharing stories and enjoying the holiday decorations with others. Christmas at Hogwarts always feels so special.

I got amazing gifts from my family. Grandma sent me warm sweaters and scarves in blue and silver, along with a delicious homemade mince pie. Grandpa Gilbert gave me a book on Astronomy and star charts, which I can’t wait to explore. Mum sent me a box of sweets from Honeydukes, which I’ve been enjoying every day. Dad gave me another competition to try—this one is a writing challenge for young witches and wizards. It sounds exciting but a bit scary too. I wished he would have given me something that didn't make me nervous. Really.

Today, the weather is very windy, and the snow keeps falling. The sky is completely cloudy, so I can’t stargaze tonight. It’s a bit sad, but I’ll have to wait for a clear night.

It feels nice to put my thoughts down on paper, you know and I think I’ll try to write more often, even on normal days. Every day has something special, and I want to remember those little moments too. Until next time!
