Slytherin Match 1 Edric & Glen vs. Koko & Luna

One second Edric was aiming his spell at the blond Second Year, and the next... is mind went blank. She was pretty, he'd noted that in passing when they had taken their positions on the podium, but most girls were pretty in Edric's limited opinion and he hadn't put another thought to it. When he actually looked at the girl however, he realized how pretty she really was - like, beautiful pretty. Her hair was so blonde, and her skin to perfect, and she had gorgeous eyes.

His body moved by itself while the only thing occupying his thoughts was the image of the blonde. He moved his wand, muttered an incantation, but it didn't matter that he wasn't casting at the girl anymore. She was so pretty...

He came back to it when Glen started cursing at him. Edric looked at the other boy in confusion. He hadn't done anything bad, had he? He blinked. Had his spell misfired? Belatedly he realized that the air smelled of singed clothes, and the exact same moment he realized that he was on fire he saw both girls casting spells at him.

"Glen, I'm-" he didn't get to finish the sentence. Glen at least was the smart one of them, attempting to cast a Smokescreen Spell - not that it would do Edric any good right in this instant with both their opponents attacking him.

There was really only one thing to do and he jumped to the side, trying to duck beneath the spells aimed at him. He didn't wanna die!

Action: dodge (and pray)

After what happened at the first round of spellcasting, the tide was turned for the boys. It was now the girls' time to attack. Koko was done dodging and she aimed her wand back at Edric. Even though Edric did not actually attack her at the end... Almost at the same time, Luna used the fire-making spell at the poor boy as well. They would not even give him time to extinguish the flame burning his robe.

Thankfully, with his nimble body, Edric managed to dodge the blue light coming at him easily and ducked under the stream of fire. The jet of flame was a bit closer, but it passed by him harmlessly nonetheless. It was amazing how he did all that while enduring the injury caused by his flaming robe. He and Glen might need to regroup and think of their battle strategy if they wanted to reign the tide of this battle again.

And Glen's next spell might provide the opportunity to do just that. Grey light appeared on the tip of his wand. And a cloud of smoke spew out. The whole podium was suddenly doused and covered by the thick smoke. It would be hard for anyone to accurately aim their spell. Even from the sidelines Arc had a hard time to discern where the four duellists were. What would happen next?!

So it was an accident. At least he thought that Edric's aborted sentence was an attempted apology. Glen almost wanted to do a little happy dance as his smoke-screen filled the podium. That was a success! Especially as none of the other spells seemed to hit anyone.

He was also sorely tempted to keep watching the smoke-screen - he wanted to know if it was merely a big cloud of smoke or if it would form specific forms or figures, but... this was a duel and he couldn't afford to let himself be distracted yet again.

So, if Edric was not fighting against him and that almost-hit was an accident, then he figured the plan was back on and so he grabbed his wand and waved it towards his former fellow prefect again: "Mimblewimble!"

Holy shit. W-what was this!?! Smoke!? Damn. She wouldn't be able to see a thing. That would both make it harder to aim, and in her opinion, much more difficult to dodge. But why her. Koko didn't understand the fact that none of the other people would be able to aim correctly, either. She didn't want to risk dodging, because she could run straight into the path of a spell. So what to do, what to do?

It should have been obvious, and for a moment it was. She should have run away. She should have surrendered. But... No matter how terrifying and evil Fridge was, Koko didn't want Fridge to get killed. She didn't want anyone to get killed. Koko thought, for a moment, that she should write a guide on How-To Not get Killed. Koko was an expert on the subject. And to be an expert on the subject, Koko would have to survive this duel. The only way to do that was to have a strategy. Koko glanced at Fridge, who she hoped wouldn't try and attack her. Fridge was pretty predictable, to be honest. She would do whatever it took to survive, which hopefully meant not attacking Koko. The blonde knew what had to be done. She pointed her wand at Edric, waved it, and she said, "Mucus Ad Nauseam."

Luna looked at Edric dodging the two spells that were attacking him. Clever, if his move was attacking her or Kokonut, at least one of the spells would hit him. She wasn't too disappointed that her spell missed, she had already gotten used to that. This wasn't the first time she dueled, she knew that being sad because of this would be useless.

When she wasn't expecting the most, the guy with black hair made the whole room full of smokes. She could barely see the two male Slytherins. But did that stop her from attacking? No.

She focused too much on the other guy, totally forgot this one. Now, if she just stood still and did nothing, that would be totally unlike her. Raising her wand again but to a different opponent, Luna mumbled. "Mucus Ad Nauseam."

Edric surprised himself by easily ducking beneath the blue beam of light that the scary blonde had shot at him and then sliding into the exact same position to again avoid the flames the Second Year Prefect had directef at him. He didn't have time to think even, he just reacted, getting out if the way of more hurt thriwn his way. These girls were scary.

A dark grey clowd of smoke suddenly spread between the duellists, and Edric relaxed that it had come from Glen. Reduced visibility was good, that meant less chances be cursed, or flung around, or burned. His hair was singed and his nose itched from the smell of smoke, but Edric couldn't have said if the source if the smell was the smoke cadt by Glen or if somwhere his clothes were smoldering away. He should have been afraid, really, but his fear of his opponents had given him enough of an adrenaline rush to feel pain or want to flee - at least for now.

From the corner of his eye he saw Glen cast a spell and aimed in the same direction out of instinct. "Rictusempra!" he shouted, trying to see his opponents beneath all the smoke.

To answer his previous question, apparently, nothing much happened next. The visibility in the room was just too low. Spells flew left and right but none landed properly. Two of them even went so wide, they almost hit the students watching in the sidelines. Thankfully, they ducked out of the way just in time. Seriously, Edric, Luna, that was sort of embarrassing.

Edric got burnt a bit more from his burning robe, but not long after that the fire died off. At least, for that, he should be thankful. With the smoke still hanging in the air, it would be hard for anyone to aim properly. But they had to keep trying. It was the only thing they could do.

Well, Glen would count this as a success. He may have missed his target but so did the others – at least as far as he could tell none of the spells had hit anyone. Question was, what now?

When he and Edric had tried to come up with a plan and Glen had promised to stick to it – he knew himself well enough to know that that was probably for the best, after all, it wouldn't do for him to get lost in his head again and take too long deciding on a spell only for him to end up doing nothing but standing there.

So, the plan had been Mimblewimble. Should he make another attempt? He felt like it would be... rote. But then, practice makes perfect, right? And on top of that, isn't the saying that third time's the charm? Nodding to himself, he resolved to give it one more try:

“Mimblewimble!”

Shit. This wasn't going well. All of her spells kept missing. She had known that she couldn't aim worth anything, but this was annoying as hell. Honestly? She wanted to run out of the room.

Koko's gaze darted over to Fridge for a second. She didn't want the other girl to attack her, so she'd have to keep a special eye on the prefect. Koko's wand was still out, pointed at Edric, as she took a second to think. Thinking wasn't difficult for the blonde - yes, she found the stereotype offensive. Koko was definitely not a 'dumb blonde'. She would have run away had she not actually been worried about the girl with the name of a household appliances. Yes, she was worried for Fridge. Why? Because she thought that Fridge was too arrogant to realise how much trouble she might be in if she got tongue-tied.

Still, it wasn't as if Koko would actually try to save her. Noooooo. Koko had her own issues to deal with. Glen didn't seem to be attacking her, so she wouldn't focus on him for the moment. No, she would focus on the other boy. Edric, was it? She had heard Arc say his name. "Wingardium Leviosa," said the blonde Slytherin, pointing her wand at Edric and giving it a swish, then a flick. Just as they were supposed to.

Tsk, the smokes were so annoying. Luckily, she was also able to dodge the two spells which were going to hit her. Good.

Though, she should not give up on attacking one of these two. She needed to make one of these two unable to attack, which was why she had to use that spell again, instead of keeping using Incendio Duo for fun.

Sighing, the girl drew her wand and looked at Glen, who used to be a Slytherin Prefect. "Again, shall we? Mucus ad Nauseam."
