Some people would say Amelia had a bad habit of spreading herself too thin, others would just say she didn't know when to stop, and although both were true, she would never admit to it. She knew she had a tendency to take on one too many projects but she deemed it necessary, as her grades were important to her. Spending time with friends was important to her too, but that was all she had done as of late and she could feel her valued grades slipping through her fingertips. The thought of getting anything below the highest passing grade made her stomach churn and sent her into a foul mood, a rare sight indeed, but she didn't know how to balance everything she needed to get done in a reasonable way so she sacrificed her well needed sleep to get her project for potions completed.
She had lost count of how many days she had stayed up all night to get her classroom assignments completed but it was starting to take a toll on her. She realized this as she settled in to a corner of the library, her eyelids drooping as she ran over what it was she needed to complete her assignment. She hated it when she did this, but she refused to talk to anyone about it. She was better than that, better than getting help. She was the kind of person who helped others at any cost, but the thought of asking for help nearly sent her into a fit on its own. So, she mustered up whatever strength she had left and began scrawling across her parchment with her quill; beside her were books that she had nabbed on the way in, each of them open to a different page with vastly different potions but she obviously didn't notice her mistake, as she was too busy getting frustrated with trying to remember what ingredients went into the potion she working on without referring to the books.

Teiki hadn't yet stressed herself over the homework. She knew it was probably going to happen soon, but for now, she was doing just fine. Of course, she did have to constrain herself at some times so that she wouldn't get distracted and start chit-chatting. Sure, she wasn't the best at being perfect when it came to anything really, but she had tried her best and had finished the homework. Now, she wanted to explore. She watched the walls, attempting to find any hidden doors before she realized that she had managed to find herself in the library. She shrugged, almost turning back to explore elsewhere when she noticed her friend writing on the piece of parchment before her. She debated leaving her friend in peace, before remembering the help Amelia had already given her. She walked over and quietly sat down on the opposite side of the table. The books were at wildly different potions, which confused Teiki. Amelia looked upset, staring down at the parchment.
"Do you need help?" Teiki asked softly, trying not to startle her agitated friend.
"What potion are you trying to research?" Teiki took one of the books, and flipped back to the index of the book.

Amelia barely glanced up from her paper and blushed softly out of embarrassment. She hadn't meant for her friend to catch her so off guard like this, letting someone else see how frustrated with herself she was made her feel vulnerable. She prided herself on taking care of others and making sure they were comfortable, not the other way around, so it was odd having her friend here to support her. She took a minute to recover from seeing her before she cleared her throat and looked away, nervously playing with the edge of the parchment,"I- uh... well..." She sighed and glanced back down at the paper, her eyes narrowing softly as she read along.
"Right now its just an antidote for common poisons... I know I need to crush bezoar into a fine powder but I can't remember what other ingredients I need,"She murmured quietly, the frustration in her voice obvious. She hated that Teiki had to see her like this; it wasn't often she fell so behind in her studies but when it happened she didn't like anyone to see her like this in case they used it against her. She knew Teiki wouldn't, but she hated feeling stupid in front of others. She loved being in the know.
And right now, she definitely was not in the know when it came to these potions.

"Antidotes for common potions..." Teiki mused as she looked through the index. The flipped the book open to the page, where it read the ingredients. She looked at the page silently before pointing towards a list that was labeled "Ingredients."
"Um... It contains a ground unicorn horn and uh- 2- mistletoe berries." She told Amelia, reading the book aloud, trying to keep her voice down.
"Oh. And standard ingredient." She looked around for the instructions. She was glad that the font size wasn't too small.
"Okay, so 4 measures crushed Bezoar. Then 2 measures standard ingredient. Then medium heat, 5 seconds. Then wave your wand and leave to brew for 40 minutes in a pewter cauldron. Switch to brass cauldron, leave 34 minutes, switch to copper cauldron, leave 30 minutes." Teiki looked up from the book.
"There's a second part. I'll read that aloud, too before giving you the book back. Okay?" Teiki asked, not really waiting for a response.
"One pinch ground unicorn horn. Stir twice, clockwise. Add the two mistletoe berries and stir twice, anti-clockwise. Then wave your wand. It shows how in the book for both parts." Teiki flipped the book towards her friend, indicating towards the instruction and ingredients of the Antidote to Common Poisons.
"Any other potions you need to find? Or should I find the antidote to common poisons in a different book?" Teiki asked, truly wanting to help her friend. She wasn't sure if she was becoming more of a nuisance now, though.
"Also, no teacher can call this cheating since I'm simply reading the book aloud." She said, smiling slightly.

Amelia remained quiet for once as her friend read her the ingredients. She scribbled them down as Teiki spoke, being sure to copy them down on a piece of parchment she was using for notes as well. She couldn't help but smile at Teiki's last comment, her eyes lighting up just a bit as she looked up at her,"Thanks, Teiki. You really don't have to help me though, unless you really want to."
She didn't give her friend time to respond as she sat her quill back, leaning back into her chair and grinning at her friend,"I think I'll be okay now, but if you want to stay here you can. I still have a lot to do for potions, so I'll be here for a while. If you have anything you need help with I'd be glad to help you out too." Truth be told, Amelia was exhausted, but some of her potions homework was due tomorrow, and with her friend here she knew she would be able to knock some of it out relatively quickly, and they wouldn't have to worry about their noise level too much as no one else was in the library other than the librarian.
However, Amelia was still a mess. It was obvious, as her books were still strewn across the table, her glasses smudged and eyes lined with dark bags. She didn't mind Teiki being here, if anything the other's presence soothed her some, but it didn't change the fact that other people seeing her this stressed out and spread so thin made her feel off. She figured it had something to do with the fact that she was a muggle born; she had no idea what half of the things that were going on were and she hated being so lost all the time.

"Oh no! It's fine! I have nothing better to do anyway asides from getting lost in corridors." Teiki replied. Her friend still seemed to be a little off. Of course, it might have been simply from the homework. Teiki left the book that was at the right page and started organizing the others. It appeared most the books were about potions, but the ones that weren't she left in a small pile at the corner, farther away from the other books.
"It's fine. I finished potions already, and the other homework that I need to do I'll have a chance to do in the morning." Teiki replied, pretty sure she would have time in the morning. That is, if she woke up at the right time. It would probably be okay, though. She opened another book to the Antidote for Common Poisons page, but since there was no information missing from the first book she opened, she closed it back up.
"Are there any other potions you need to research?" Teiki asked. If she was able to prepare the books for her friend, Amelia would be able to get the homework done quicker, and hopefully both of them could get some good sleep. Good sleep was hard to come by during school.

Interacting with @Teiki Laurent
Amelia smiled softly when Teiki mentioned something about getting lost in the corridors and nodded in agreement before she focused her gaze further down the page,"Uhm... Wiggenweld and the Forgetfulness potion,"she murmured softly before she quietly began writing. She was pretty sure she already knew what was needed for the Forgetfulness potion, but the Wiggenweld was a completely different story. It was a lot more complicated, with so many more steps, and she wondered why it was she needed to know it.
Drawing a long sigh, she quietly wrote down the steps, starting with the Lethe River water and ending with stirring the concoction three times clockwise before you started on the second step. After a long expanse of silence, she quietly slid her parchment over to Teiki and tilted her head to the side, wondering if she had written the steps correctly,"Does that look like it's right so far?"
As her friend reviewed the paper, she couldn't help but smile in her general direction. Having someone to study with made the process all that easier, and if she got something wrong she would have a reason not to beat herself up. She knew Teiki would stop her from telling any self-depreciating jokes, so she just leaned back in her seat and played with her quill as her thoughts drifted.

Teiki looked over the paper that was handed to her.
"Yeah, that looks right. There's just a few more steps in the first part, before you start the second part. A wand motion, then you let it brew for..." Teiki opened a book to the Forgetfullness Potion page. "45 to 60 minutes before you start the second part." She smiled at Amelia, glad she could help. After all, Amelia had already helped her with some of her own homework beforehand. She gave the paper back, as well as the book on the correct page. Then, she found another book and opened it up to the Wiggenweld Potion. She looked over it before placing it before Amelia, a little farther away than the other book so she wouldn't get confused.
"The Wiggenweld is complicated, but it doesn't have different parts." Teiki said, before looking back at the book arrangement.
"Ah, je ne sais pas qu'est ce que je devrais faire.." Teiki muttered, still looking at the books. She placed a hand on the book open to the Antidote to Common Poisons.
"Do you still need this book?" She asked. She found it easier to do work when the space around her wasn't too cluttered. It made it less confusing.

je ne sais pas ce qu'est ce que je devrais faire (French) = I don't know what I should do
