Clem's jaw dropped a little bit as both Logan and Lark mentioned the types of magical sweets in existence. "Oh wow! Yeah, I can't wait to try them!" he said. While he might not always be the most "childish" of children, candy was candy as far as he was concerned. And the cards! He couldn't wait to get his hands on some. After all, they might have history that was common knowledge to others. And Clem was fine with many things, but being out of the loop was one thing he hated.

That was one reason he was glad to know that James also wasn't from a magical family. While the other two might be used to the ins and outs of the wizarding world, it would be nice to have someone to share a sense of wonder with. There were so many things to see and do, and getting to experience for the first time with someone that it was also new for would make it all the better. Already, the wheels in Clem's brain were turning about what he would tell his parents. They were sure to want to hear about everything - even if they were more interested in literature and culture, new experiences were vital to them as academics.

As James declared that they would all figure out this world together, Clem smiled a bit. These three had already welcomed him in so quickly, without even knowing that much about him. He hoped that he could be able to show the same kind of welcome to both them and others in the future. When James and Lark raised their goblets, Clem followed suit. A toast then, to new beginnings.

As Lark asked if there were any suggestions , he scratched the back of his neck. "Gosh I wish I had a good idea. But do we need a name, really? Or, er, in the vein of the Fantastic Four, we could be the Fantastic Friends! It's a bit braggy sure, but it gives us space for other people maybe? We might meet other people! There's bound to be other first years we'll like? But also it's a bit silly, I know." He smiled sheepishly as he finished offering his idea.

James couldn't help but snort at the suggestions. He'd put them on the spot, he knew, and he hadn't managed to thing of anything better.

"Uh- Maybe- Maybe you're right Clem. We don't need a name. But how about this? The four of us, this year, promise to look out for each other, through thick and thin." he raise his goblet again, "To Friends and to new beginnings!"

He hoped he wasn't roping the new boy into this group too quickly, but there was a wonky charm to the boy's clumsiness that James liked, and he thought he could do well with a muggleborn friend.

Just then, a long-nosed prefect called from the end of the hall "All Ravenclaw first years! With me please! I will be escorting you to the Common-Room. That's it, nice and orderly. Thank you!"

James looked at the others, "Well, it looks like we'll have to go to the Owlery tomorrow morning, but what do you say? Friends?"

He looked at Lark, he'd done this little ritual with her first, and he felt, deep-down, that there would always be something extra special about that. He gave her a smile and raised his pumpkin juice hoping for the acceptance of the other two boys.

Logan nodded when James said Lark was pure blood. "Lark is pure blood? Cool, I'm also pure blood. Well, like, at least in the sense that my parents are both magic. My father was half blood so I'm not like 100% pure blood, but I still count I think? I don't know. I probably should stop before I end up rambling for ages about it. But if you have any questions, both me and Lark can answer them." He smiled.

"Fantastic Four? Whilst most pure-bloods won't get that, all the half-bloods and muggle-borns would, and I do because my parents decided that I should experience a healthy amount of both wizard and muggle culture even if they're both wizards. But really, I don't think naming us after a superhero movie would be good. As for name ideas? I'm not really sure." Logan tried to think of something, but couldn't.

Then he heard Clem's idea and nodded. "Yeah, that sounds fairly good, but you're right about us not needing a name. We can just be a nice group of friends."

He then heard the prefect yell for all the first years, and carefully stood up. "Well, that'll be us then. Let's go. We can go to the owlery tomorrow."

As Cress sat down an waited for the rest of the students to get sorted, she realized that the plates in front of her had no food. Were they not eating? Wasn't this a feast? Looking around her, she realized that the ceiling didn't have a thousand little lights sprinkled around, but rather candles! The night sky shone above the candles, with a couple clouds here and there. Everything was too bizarre -Hogwarts was even better in person! As the last of the students were sorted, the Headmaster began to say a couple words about the upcoming school year, and an extra side of words of wisdom. With a clap of his hands, the food appeared on the golden plates, their goblets suddenly filled. Cress was amazed-where did this all come from? Who was making it? HOW?

Her mind reorganized itself and she told herself eat now, question later. So she dug in.

Looking around her, Cress recognized a couple of the other first years that were waiting in the sorting crowd with her. The kids sitting on either side of her didn't seem to be from her year, so she didn't really know what to say to them. Hopefully, someone would start a conversation with her soon. In the meantime, Cress gave her full attention to the plate in front of her.

Elzabeth was still so happy from the sorting, it didn't occur to her she still needed to meet people and make friends in this amazing new place.

As she neared the table she started to scan over the crowed of sitting people for open spots. Her eyes finally landed on one, a small girl with blond hair was sitting next to an open space. Elzabeth was a little nervous to sit next to new people, it was obvious some of them had already known each other for years and she didn't want to barge in on that.

Not seeing anywhere else, she made her way over and took a seat. At first, she didn't want to bother the girl, so she looked up and admired the Great Halls ceiling with floating cadels and the shimmering night sky.

Elzabeth let her eyes wander a bit to the small boy sitting not too far from her to the silvered haired girl chatting with him. Finally she looked over to the blond girl next to her, working up the courage to finally introduce herself.

"Hello, my names Elzabeth Gillan what's yours?" Elzabeth was nervous she would come off too forward or weird but there was nothing she could do now, she had already spoken.

Delilah let out a sigh of relief as she made her way towards the table surrounded by witches and wizards in blue cloaks. All her nerves seemed to have fluttered away once the hat had called out "RAVENCLAW!" to the entire school. She was beyond glad to be in the Ravenclaw house, her mother had been a Ravenclaw too. She couldn't wait to tell her. She knew that she'd be proud of her, as would her father. Delilah sat herself at the end of the table and started looking around for a moment.

She took in the wizards and witches around her, all chatting excitedly about the school year ahead. She couldn't wait to see what she would learn about, or to watch the house quidditch matches. She was a pretty big quidditch fan, not a big quidditch player though. She wasn't gifted in that area, but that didn't bother her too much.

Once Delilah had taken in her surroundings, she turned to the person beside her and offered them a smile. "Hi, I'm Delilah Mallard." She introduced herself. The blonde held out her hand to the other Ravenclaw. She couldn't wait to start getting to know all her fellow first years and make some friends.

Tanya sat down on the stool and waited. Ah, an inquisitive mind? Determined, courageous. . . A good Gryffindor. But. . . no. You wouldn't enjoy it there. Slytherin would be closer, but still, no. Ravenclaw? You'd enjoy others with minds like yours. Yes, it had better be RAVENCLAW! Tanya took the hat off as quickly as possible, she didn't know why, but she hated the feeling of it digging around in her brain. Then again, she was relieved that she hadn't been sorted into Gryffindor. She had seen Gryffindor students on the train here, and they were very loud. She wasn't sure how she'd feel if she'd have to be with such loud people all the time.

Her table was cheering, and she couldn't help but feel herself warm up in response. She let a small smile grace her face as she walked to the table and sat down at the end of the table next to a blonde girl. She watched the rest of the kids get sorted into their respective houses, wincing at the ridiculously loud cheering that erupted the hall. Eventually, it was over, and food magically appeared on the table, to her shock.

She glanced at the girl next to her, who was wearing a huge grin. She regretted it immediately as the girl turned to look at her, then (worse) introduced herself. Tanya gave her a small smile and shook her hand. "My name is Tanya. It is nice to meet you." She said, German accent cutting into her words. English was different from German, and it always felt weird to speak English, like she was twisting her tongue in the wrong direction.

Nikolas made his way into the Great Hall along with the other first years. With sparkly eyes like that of a child, he would glance to the enchanted ceiling and the masses of floating candles. "Tha's impressive..." he would mutter to himself. As the spiel for sorting was given, Nikolas could feel his heart bear through his chest. He was called up, fairly quickly at that. The sorting hat would mumble to him, and he would envision his answers. Then the time came. The sorting hat flapped its enchanted mouth, and with a booming voice yelled out:

"Ravenclaw!"

He had finally been sorted. With a giddy step, he would walk to the table, his robes changing to the silver and blue of the house as he meandered to find his seat. He would look around as he found jis way to an empty part of the table. The realization then dawned on him that he did not know anyone yet, and many people seemed to be chattering around him. He would curiously try to peak out so see whom ever else would be sorted into this house with him. Perhaps a new friend, a study buddy, a friendly rival? He didn't know yet.

At the table, he would wave to some of the other first years who had just been sorted. Though he, for the first time, seemed to be at a loss for words. Why was he so shy now? Was he just nervous.? He hoped someone else would break the ice first this time. With his foresty gaze, he would glance along the rows, hoping someone would talk with him.

Kaylyn sat on the stool, hands folded and ankles crossed, the Sorting Hat resting on her nest of curls. It mused quietly to the girl, and she could feel the old hat flopping about as it spoke. "Hmm... yes. I see a great intelligence in you, but also ambition and arrogance. You'd do very well in Slytherin, you'd go very far, but you want to be with people at the same intellectual level as yourself. Ravenclaw it is!"

A chorus of cheers erupted throughout the hall, and Kaylyn beamed as she hopped from the stool and gingerly removed the hat from her head. Kaylyn walked with quick, graceful steps to the Ravenclaw table where she sat down near a few others who had just been sorted. As she sat down, she quickly observed those around her, already trying to see who might be a challenge to overtake in her quest to become top of the class.

'Don't be ridiculous.' Kaylyn chastised herself as she watched the last of the students be sorted. 'You can't judge by looking at them. You have to make conversation. Just. Not now.' Kaylyn waited for the ceremony to end- politely clapping whenever someone was sorted into Ravenclaw, of course- but otherwise remaining silent. To her relief, though, the sorting ended a little while after her own sorting, and for once, Kaylyn was grateful to have her last name be towards the end of the alphabet.

The moment the last name was called, food magically appeared on tables, and students seemed to almost lunge to grab their meals. Kaylyn politely took some pork and potatoes before turning to the boy next to her and offering her hand. "Hello." She said, "I'm Kaylyn-Ari Willow. You can call me Kaylyn or Arrow, though. And you are?"

Nikolas would smile and claps as he saw someone else get sorted. When she sat down and the food appeared, he would blink in awe. "Now tha's what I call magic." He would comment. He would be in the middle of loading his plate up with a bit of chicken and a baked potato when he heard her speak to him. "Nice to meet yeh Kaylyn. I'm Nikolas Collins. Yeh can call me Nik fer short though." He would say.

He would have then finished loading his plate, set it down, and take the waiting hand, and shake it. "Let's do well this year, yeah?" He would say, giving one of his genuine smiles. He would then turn to his meal, and take a nibble from the potato. Finishing the bite quickly, he would turn back to her.

"So, an' forgive me if I'm rude for askin', but when did yeh figure out you were...y'know, magic? Fer me, it started when I was a wee lad. I got angry at me mum one day and made me toys float up off the floor. Me parents had the house blessed af'er that, 'cuz they thought the house was haunted." he would say with a chuckle.
