Perms taken from Aleks and June's writers to mention them
AEIOUSAUnfolding the letter he had received earlier, with it's ink still fresh, in it was kept his mother's revelation: The existence of A cousin, with the features of his mother's blood. His eyes scanned the crowded hallways, Scrutinizing every blonde haired girl with a Slytherin tie he came across, almost as if he was trying to spot the next Heir to Slytherin. The scrutiny continued as he mentally ticked off their names, features and family trees.
His quest led him down to the dungeons ,dorms, library and what not. One such place was where he stumbled upon Aleks, who mostly kept to herself. Prat knew her from their shared classes and some odd experiences together, but deemed her too guarded to be the open book that a blood relative of his would happen to be. Then there was June, already out of the race for being too old. These were some names he was familiar with among the students of the school.
It was then that his eyes fell on Elisa, the realization dawned upon him after judging so many other Slytherin blondes. His stomach in knots as he even contemplated Elisa possibly being his cousin. He was aware his family tree had a few....undesirable branches. But Elisa? His opinion of her was not very high. This thought was immensely disturbing to him. It wasn't for prejudice or hate but simply because Elisa herself was... well, Elisa.
In her mind she was the kind of girl who would trip you on the stairways and pretend it was an accident or how she never noticed it happened. The very idea that they could share blood was enough to make Prat question the sanity of his ancestors. But as he scrutinized her, taking in her blonde hair that matched the features his mother defined. The various dots started to connect. Their similarities were undeniable to some extent, and the more he thought about it, the more he realized that she might just be the one. Prat almost made up his mind to leave the endeavor and forget he ever got a letter.
How could it be, how could fate be so cruel? He felt his world shatter around him. Prat had always been good at spotting his kin from a mile away, after all not many could match up to their affluence. Elisa by her behaviours and manners was about as welcome in his family portrait as a house elf at a pureblood tea party. He went so so far as to contemplate if he was merely seeing things, her resemblance only a fluke of the magical world's shallow genetic pool as he stood there staring at her.

Cousin? Disowned.
Elisa sighed as she walked through the corridors, the day was no special, rather boring to be frank, the usual chaotic hallways were unusually calm, and Elisa herself for the first time was not in the possession of any prank item but instead with a book related to Astronomy in her hand, she was taking a small break from pranking especially after the letter from her father, it would be wise of her to stay calm for the time being, her main agenda being to track down who the supposed cousin was, about whom her father had spoke highly of,@Prat Pass
The more she thought, the more her mind moved from the book to the mysterious cousin, 'Who was he? Why was his presence not told to her earlier? Does he even know if they are related? Was it any of her prank victims?' , questions started to fill her head, her curiosity fueling up, she had to find out whoever that person was and maybe even bully them to keep their mouth shut if by some circumstance they knew of her troublesome attitude,
Elisa was about to sigh once more when she felt a strange feeling, as if someone was staring at her for long, she instantly closed her book and turned back to see one of the most unexpected person, Prat? while she knew he wasnt much fond of him, why was he staring at her for that long without even blinking, Elisa could swear she sensed a slight emotion of annoyance and shock in his face as she slowly walked towards him and snapped her fingers infront of him as she spoke coldly "I believe you know a bit of pureblood manners and know better than to stare at some lady for long? Mr Pass.", as the words came out of her mouth, Elisa felt a sudden suspicion hit her, why was he observing her? was he upto something? "He isnt my cousin is he?" she muttered to herself in parseltongue, knowing well that Prat would take it as gibberish with his lack of knowledge about her.

AEIOUSAℌe narrowed his eyes at Elisa's snappy remark, with corners of his mouth twitching into something akin to a smirk. Arms folded across his chest as he retorted, "I would never lower myself to the point of staring at you and A lecture about manners?, coming from you? That's rich." His tone now a blend of amusement and a sign of spite, a dance of words those unacquainted with him would probably expect from him. She was about to respond, but Prat cut her off, his gaze never leaving hers. "But then again, I wouldn't expect much from someone who consorts with... what was it? Shrek what's his name."
Only after saying that did Prat realize how weird it might have sounded to Elisa, probably the same way her mumbo jumbo sounded to him, Elisa probably had no idea about the international treasure that shrek was, something that could transcend muggle and wizarding world differences. Something that might even be the best offering were aliens to visit Earth. He watched as she narrowed her eyes at him, clearly not amused. His eyes flicked to the Astronomy book in her hand, a curious departure from her usual antics. "What's with that book? You finally decided to take studying seriously? Well as much as your brain can read and decipher what's written." he continued, his voice laced with a sliver of mockery.
Deciding it wasn't worth effort, he intended to leave and not question her about it. However with the idea of how ecstatic he was upon finding her existence was a fact, Prat felt something holding him back. The idea of having someone blood related that would understand his life or experience was almost a dream until now. Only if it wasn't for Elisa to end up as his cousin.
Turning back around, he glanced at Elisa, expression shifting from arrogance to a peaceful demeanor and then to curiosity as he requested her. "Wait a minute" his voice taking on a low pitched serious tone, "Is your mother's first name perhaps Catherine by any chance?" Prat continued, in his mind an old fragment of a memory as he remembered something his mother had shown him before. Recounting the event before Elisa, or at the very least, all the details she might need. "I remember my mother mentioning a woman named Catherine in a picture from her childhood. She reminisced about her and called her a cousin once upon a time."
He watched her closely, already clear of the faint resemblance he had seen yet still searching for any more signs of recognition. Could it really be true? he thought, the possibility now seeming less absurd. She was pretty, perhaps not as distracting as him or father, but she had no relation with the old man. The tension growing as Prat waited for her response.

Cousin? Disowned.
Elisa could feel anger running through her veins as she heard the bitter words from the boy's mouth, his smirk, a sight from which she was barely able to resist herself from delivering a blow to the boy's cheeky face. Elisa's eyes darkened on the mention of Ernest, she shot a glare at the boy as she muttered "Wow, you really must be running low on creativity if you need to drag someone else into this conversation just to throw an insult my way. How cute! Maybe you should take a class in actual insults instead of judging people on the basis of their friendships. Seriously, try being original for once. It might save you from looking so desperate to win an argument!".@Prat Pass
The young blonde took a deep breath to control her anger as she decided to focus on her book, in an attempt to ignore the boy infront of her, the book would've succeeded in attaining her attention if Prat hadn't thrown yet another comment, a scowl formed on her face as she muttered in a low voice "Ah, I see you're still perfecting your poor talent for sarcasm. It's impressive how you manage to combine ignorance with judgment. Well my brain can decipher only things that our important unlike you and your life", she knew that her comment regarding his life might've struck a nerve in him but it wasn't her fault, it was he who started it all by staring at her.
Elisa hoped for a moment of peace as the boy turned to leave but her peace lived short, when the boy turned back, this time his face clear from the deep arrogance it held a couple of minutes ago, the words that followed from his mouth couldn't stop the girl from giving him a suspicious look, why did he want to know of her mother? what connection did her mother and Prat's mother hold? but the moment she heard the explanation behind the connection, Elisa couldn't help but chuckle bitterly, 'So this is the cousin father had told me of? He is not even half of what his description was told as.' she thought as she couldn't help of the situations that may follow if he was her cousin..
"Yes? Now don't give me some lore of how we might be cousins because I don't give a shit and I don't even plan on talking to you much" she muttered nonchalantly, if he was her cousin, then she will at all cost avoid him like the plague..

AEIOUSA𝖕rat's eyes narrowed as he heard Elisa. The very idea that she believed he would bother with some elaborate story that would explain their potential family ties was almost comical to him, how could she be so delusional. He had much better things to do with his time unlike her, he no longer held any interest in going over their blood ties, specially given her bitchy demeanor. "I would not waste my breath with such trivialities, or on you." Prat thought to himself, the urge to correct her misconceptions and put her in her place was very real within him, a bit too close to reality for comfort. In the end he held his tongue, deciding to let this ignorance fester within her, it suited her airhead vibes well. After all, it wasn't his job to educate her. If she wished to live in blissful ignorance, that was her prerogative.
His gaze remained on Elisa. It was clear to him how she had no interest in forging a bond. 'Let her wallow in ignorance,' he mused, 'It's makes no difference to me.' He took a step back. "Fine" he said to her, "We'll pretend this never happened. We're not family, you and me. We're just two strangers who accidentally happen to share a bloodline. Only other thing we could share from here on is a mutual disdain for each other." With a mental shrug, Prat turned to leave. The peace in his life was worth significantly more than the headache of dealing with someone so prickly like Elisa. He hoped their paths would not cross again.
