First Year Potions 101
Arceus surprised of her ruffling his hair picks up the things and heads out after her while they're walking there he still has to slow his normal pace because she's a bit slower than usual. "Hey Caitlin..you know I'm probably older than you right?" He grins "Even if you could adopt me you wouldn't be able to.. FACE MY WRATH!" He laughs at his own "joke" and continues walking besides her in silence to let her speak a bit. "By the way are you ok? My heart stopped when I saw you jump in front of those people and when I saw what happened to the cloak. I- I should have been there..Things could have been a lot worse if you didn't know what to do and if I lost you... I don't know what I would have done.. I mean you're my best friend here" Lightly punches shoulder in a friendly kind of way. "Well after you leave Madam Pomfrey want to go hang out somewhere.. I was thinking the lakes but if you want to go somewhere else I'm fine with that It's your decision for surviving" He gives two thumbs up in a joking kind of way.
Have a nice day and peace out..

Caitlin rolls her eyes and laughs quietly. "Even if you are older then me I still would do it. And face your wrath? I guess you haven't seen me before my coffee in the mornings have you?" Caitlin joked and smiles as she hums. "I'm fine, don't worry about me. It could have been a lot worse if it had fully gotten onto my skin. Don't blame yourself. You couldn't have known what was going to happen, and my father made sure to drill into my head what to do in those kinds of situations. Trust me, you can not get rid of me that easily!" Caitlin bumps her hip into yours with a smile and a laugh. "I would love to hang out with my little bro. The lakes sound amazing right about now. Maybe we will see the giant squid. Or a mermaid! That would be so cool! Don't you think?" She smiles brightly and gets a dreamy look in her eyes. "I'm glad my mother let me come to Hogwarts. She wanted to homeschool me but I convinced her to let me come because it would be too dangerous to practice magic around muggles. They could have seen."

Vera scrunched her nose as Marcus accused her of wanting him to go away. "I didn't say that, I just wanted to make sure she got the help she needed... whatever," she muttered. She was pleased that Caitlin's leg hadn't melted off or anything and that the girl still had enough control over her faculties to concoct a solution to fix her ailment. Her eyes widened a bit at Caitlin's explanation of her expertise and Vera felt a twinge of jealousy at how capable she seemed. It was too bad the circumstances were so sad, though. "Well, that's impressive... sorry to hear about your dad, though," she offered kindly.
Her fellow Hufflepuff's plea for assistance drew her attention away from Marcus and Caitlin, but she was relieved to see a dark haired Slytherin girl had come to Joanne's aid, as Vera certainly didn't have the experience to fix a potion. She was barely getting by the first lesson just trying to make one... and most of that success had to be attributed to Marcus. She flipped over the hourglass again at their station, keeping track of the time.
"Our potion, you mean," she corrected Marcus with a smirk. "I helped." True, he was the reason it was outstanding, but she didn't intend to let his head get too big if they were going to be partners in future. As time ticked down, Vera slipped out her wand and extinguished the flames beneath the cauldron. The potion was the perfect hue of a red for the marks her partner desired... though, they'd have to wait and see grades next class.

Ava seemed like a really kind person to Joanne, the way she giggled and had come to her aid. She also seemed very intelligent as she skilfully brew the potion. “St. Mungo’s Hospital? - That sounds quite impressive. You’re lucky that you already know how most of this works. It’s hard when you do it for the first time. I’ve never heard of these ingredients before. I’m just really glad that you came swooping in to help me,” Joanne laughed as she studied the potion Ava was helping her with. When the other girl started humming some melody, which was vaguely familiar to Joanne, she asked; “What is that song you’re humming, if I may ask?” Finally she looked up to eye her for a while, waiting for an answer.
“Should be enough,” Ava said as she turned to her and continued talking. “I’m Hufflepuff,” Joanne said proudly. “You’re Slytherin, right? I think I saw you at the ceremony. And, of course! I’d love to be partners. At least my grades will be good then,” she laughed. She thought that it would be really nice to team up with her. They clicked.

A thunderous noise is heard from outside. Followed by a distant "AHH!"In a few seconds, a young boy with blonde hair and blue eyes bursts through the door."A-Am I late?" He struggles to spit these words out."D-didn't know where class was. R-ran all around castle." Rian sat in a random spot, to catch his breath.
Rian took a look around and saw people in groups making potions. Potions were Rian's strongest skill. He was extremely knowledgeable about herbs and other ingredients. Though all of this was self-taught, his own wisdom augmented by what he could understand from books. So he may be a bit rusty.
After catching his breath, Rian loudly asks "So what are we are doing?"While placing down his book and cauldron."I do also apologize for disrupting, and my being late. As I did not pay attention, and do not know where many places are in this castle." Rian was overly polite and honest. He did not think anyone had bad intentions towards him, unless it was extremely straightforward.
While he was waiting to be told what was going on, Rian studied the classrooms and the different potions. They all looked decent. Rian did not genuinely care for showing off, so he would most likely just make what he'd consider passable.

First Year Potions 101
Dakota sniffled softly as he entered the classroom, relieved to find that no professor was present. He held his head down as he shuffled inside, blocking out the presence of all the other students. He slowly made his way to an empty seat, sitting down in it, his mind completely blank. He didn't want to talk to any of the other students, even if his heart said otherwise. He knew there was a chance of him both embarssing himself in public and getting classified as a bullying target in Hogwarts. Well, he was already one when it came to his brothers but he didn't know if he could handle being laughed at by the 'popular kids' as well.
Shifting in his seat, he looked to the side, pulling out the Magical Drafts and Potions book, flipping it to a page. He continued to flip, passing over the right page, his eyebrows furrowing in frustration. He forced himself to remain calm but tension filled his body, to the point he felt like crying, tears cornering his dark brown eyes.

Conrad had been in the classroom for a while, quietly observing while doing his work and not really taking part in the conversations going on around him. He didn't see need to, it wasn't like they had addressed him. He had happened to take an empty table, and no one had really sat beside him either. That is, until another boy loudly came in late and plopped down beside him. He didn't particularly approve of the boy's actions - even though he had come in late, there had been no need for a spectacle, he could've just sat down and got to work - but he wanted to be polite. "We're doing a uh, Pepper-Up potion," he responded quietly, pulling his textbook over to show the Hufflepuff (he could tell by the robes) the right page. It was fairly easy for Conrad as well, seeing as he had already read the textbook cover to cover. He had read all of his textbooks already, actually. They were just so interesting. It was amazing the things that magic could do (like, duh, it was magic but still). The things they learned in muggle schools were so boring in comparison!Rian Pack wrote: A thunderous noise is heard from outside. He was already almost finished with the potion, and it seemed to be the right color. He eyed it as he stirred, but jumped slightly as more students came in late. Looking over his shoulder briefly, he huffed under his breath. "It's a partner project," Conrad added, just as quietly, turning back to his partner. "I'm already almost finished."

Still not used to the castle grounds, Vee took a while to get to the dungeons. She was panting when she entered, thankful that class hasn’t started yet. She took a deep breath and went to the empty seat nearest to the front that she could find. She placed her book to the side of the table and fumbled with her fingers, staring at her desk as she waited for the professor and their instructions. After a minute to herself, she glanced around to observe the rest of the class. They were a diverse group, possibly half of the first years on each house was here. It was a rule that no one should sit next to anyone in their house, which was a bummer for some. Vee thought nothing of it, perhaps it would maintain a sort-of camaraderie between the houses. She wasn’t exposed to inter-house conflict but can feel tension between some Gryffindor and Slytherin students.Dakota Parker wrote: Dakota sniffled softly as he entered the classroom, relieved to find that no professor was present. Everyone greeted the professor as they walked in. They instructed the students look for the Pepper-Up Potion, a potion used to cure a (or the symptoms of a) common cold. The potion seemed fairly easy to make but Vee still felt anxious, as she does when trying new things. She opened her book and wrote down all the ingredients she needed for the potion in a small piece of parchment.
They are asked to partner with the person next to them and so she faced the boy next to her, noticing him flipping through his book over and over. “It’s on page 34.” She said quietly, hoping to help out at least. She’s very observant and noticed that the boy was nervous. She felt a little bit at ease knowing they were similar in that respect.
“My name is Venice. We are partners for this task.” She added softly, as she reached out for her cauldron and set it nicely on her desk. Content, she stood up, holding on to the piece of parchment, “I’m getting the ingredients from the cupboard, do you want to go with me?”
All that stops you is fear. Do not allow it.

Alecks runs into the room, out of breath and red-faced. Everyone in the room stops and looks at him like a...well...I don't know, but he seems really out of place. Seeing an empty seat towards the back, he slinks into it and hope everyone stops staring at him. He has his cauldron on his table and begins making the potion on the board, a pepper-up potion.
'Maybe...just maybe this won't be so hard,' Alecks hopes in his head as he reaches the ingredient storage cupboard.
He turns around and sees someone right behind him, with their arm up. Trying to go under and around, the person brings their arm down, consequently elbowing Alecks in the head. Once they apologized and Alecks said it was okay way more than needed, he made his way to his table. Setting down everything, he glances around the room to see how far people are.
'Well, I'm behind,' he thinks to himself as he sees the same student from earlier start to add their Mandrake Root, 'guess I need to hurry up!'
And with that thought, he grabs his mortar, pestle, and bicorn horn, and begins to create his potion. Adding in the two pinches of the crushed bicorn horn, adding the mandrake root, and heating on medium for 10 seconds. After about 45 minutes from when he began his potion, Alecks is done. A nice, 100% not orange color.
'Gross! I thought it was supposed to be orange! It's pink!'
Alecks looked down in shame, thinking about everyone else in the room and how their potions look so much better than his.
'Guess I can try again later, right?'
