After Herbology, Potions was probably one of Meyra's favorite subjects at Hogwarts, she grew up helping her mother tend to her herbs and plants for her own teas and elixirs and this meant that she found both subjects a place of comfort in the middle of all madness of spells and endless, long texts to read. She was more like a practical person, give her something to actually do and don't leave her to spend her precious time with theory.

So it was a pity she was not there competing to win the golden cauldron, but her insecurities took the best of her this time, better to wait for when she feels better prepared her pride would not forgive her if she found herself losing in from of so many people on her first attempt. Instead, she decided it would be the wisest idea to observe first and for that, she and Jun agreed to find each other at the benches that were now arranged for the spectators of the competition. Grabbing her cup with hot chocolate in one hand, she walked sideways, squinching herself to pass between the already occupied seats until she found an empty seat next to a boy with red hair.

"May I?" She asked him, but didn't waited for his reply to make herself comfortable in the seat next to him, letting her brown leather satchel to fall on the ground between them. He seemed to be older than her...maybe two, three years older? But he seemed...out of place, like he didn't really belonged there. Or... that was just her first impression of him, as she had never seen him before rummaging the old castle's corridors. Maybe it was the look in his eyes, or... something else about him that she wasn't able to identify, but something about him was familiar and maybe that was what called her towards that seat. Or maybe she was now just sensing foolish things!

Meyra's green-amber eyes scanned through the working tables below their seats, searching for someone that she could possible recognise. First she saw Raizel, she was working alongside two other students Meyra had yet to get to know. A brown haired girl that seemed to have everything in control and a boy that seemed to want to do quite the opposite! A bright smile, painted with a little of pride, crossed the young girl's face as she saw her step-cousin there. Meyra waved at her step-cousin and put both her thumbs up in an encouraging gesture, "You got this Rai!" She yelled out so Rai could hear her over the crowd and all the noises surrounding the Great Hall.

She again looked sideways at the boy, almost exposing an apology written in her expression, she didn't wanted to disturb him, as he actually seemed to be very focused looking at the competitors. But he didn't seem to be cheering for them, it was more like...like he was praying the cauldron would explode in their heads! Meyra followed his blue gaze, trying to find the victim of such disgust and dislike. And...and there he was! The lean, tall boy with braided white hair, the one that a few days ago had unceremoniously bumped between her and Jun, the one that had howled during professors Iwasaki's speech, unafraid of revealing who he was...unlike her. Unlike her, he had defended that blonde haired Hufflepuff and stood by her side.

A small, warm wave of shame crossed her cheeks, giving them a pinkish color. He was an idiot alright! She thought it was fair enough to admit it. But at least he was a loyal, brave idiot. "A friend of yours?" She asked the boy beside her gesturing with her chin towards the pale blonde boy sniffing...

Wait...he was sniffing those ingredients? She couldn't stop her eyes from widening at the sight, would she become like him one day? Merlin...

She was so enthralled by that last thought, on the possibility of becoming such "dog like" that she barely noticed who arrived besides the red-haired. Her attention was only pulled towards the young dark-haired girl when she heard the word "Twat." Who was a twat? Meyra turned her gaze from the platinum haired boy that now was chatting with his partner, a very beautiful blonde girl, to the girl at the other side of the broody young lad next to her. "Why doesn’t he just—” she heard her say, and she found herself narrowing her hazel eyes at the girl's audacity. The hell was she? Yes...he was not brilliant, somehow a twat yes...! But he was her kin...or something like that. A feeling of loyalty spread within her and she found herself not liking that girl and her comment at all.

And it was like instant karma when someone accidentally pushed the girl and made her drop whatever she was holding. Meyra saw the pieces of parchment scatter across the floor, and a small, slow smile formed in her lips while she diverted her eyes from the girl, feeling somehow satisfied with the girl's dismay when she looked at the red haired boy and then proceeded to sit as if nothing happened. "Hope that wasn't important." Meyra said without looking at the girl, crossing her arms over her chest and giving her attention to the white haired boy and his partner instead. Usually she would have kept things to herself, specially sneer comments...but who could blame her, when the full moon was so close by? And the girl's baseless comments left a bitter taste in her mouth?

May I?"said the soft voice. A green eyed girl asked if she could sit next to him. Cursa gave her a brief smile and shifted over a bit to make room. It was amazing how tiny the kids seemed. Really, it was only three years ago that he himself was a first year, stepping out into great ring of House Signs that would determine his place at Ilvermorny. He guessed the girl must be a first year. They just seemed to get tinier!

A voice from above and behind Cursa rang out. "COOOOOOLLLLLLIIIIINNNNNN!!!!" Cursa hadn't even met his other cousin yet, and somehow he knew instantly who this boy was. Liam. He turned to look, and got a bit of a shocker into the bargain! On the wall above the boy's head was written in huge fiery letters "ANGELCO IS ON FYRE!" The perpetrator, for this was undoubtedly Liam, was jumping up and down in the stands, cheering like he was at a quodpot match, his shirt flapping open and the names COLIN and ANGELFYRE painted on his body.

And this was supposed to be, according to Alex and Angus, the smarter of the twins. The Ravenclaw. How low could Hogwarts stoop? On the other hand, Alex and Angus also called Liam the "little liar, for they claimed that he had faked his own death a couple years ago to gain sympathy from their parents. Even Cursa knew the boy had been gone for a whole year, judging from his manner, he could probably just about plot the best route from his common room to the quidditch stadium, let alone accomplish a masterful stroke like evading discovery for a whole year while your parents are grieving your supposed death.

Cursa shook his head and turned back to the competition.

“’Scuse me,” said someone next to him, literally right in front of the green eyed girl who had sat next to him. This voice spoke in what Cursa knew to be a Cockney accent. He knew this because Americans loved to make fun of it! “Y’ think y’ could-” In real life, Cursa discovered, it was far more annoying. He could barely understand what the small girl was saying! Not for the first time, Cursa found himself asking why people couldn't just speak English here in, you know, England!

"A friend of yours?" the green eyed girl asked. She had clearly noticed him observing Colin. He wanted to deny all knowledge of the werewolf. He was --- he was actually sniffing all the ingredients! What a dog.

He gave the girl a small smile. "Uh. Yeah." He rolled his eyes. "My cousin. Colin. He's ---" Cursa looked back down to the competition. Colin was playing fetch with the ingredients. "--- He's a bit weird, honestly." He tapped the side of his head. "Gone mental, that one. I think he's smacked into a few too many trees."

“What a twat,” said the dark haired girl, looking down on Colin and his blonde partner. Cursa laughed sharply. He wasn't quite sure what a "twat" was, but, even through the thick Cockney the girl's intention was plain. And then someone bumped into her, sending her book flying in scattered bits of parchment! Wait.

The green eyed girl was smirking. Cursa looked from her to the pile of scattered book pages. Had she just kicked Cockney girl!? She returned his glance, her arms crossed over her shoulders. "Hope that wasn't important," she said. Cursa didn't want to have anything to do with a first year fight right here in the stands. Clearly green eyes didn't like Cockney girl! Cursa tried to stifle his laughter.

As the other girl set about picking up the pieces, Cursa turned back to the real competition down on the floor of the Great Hall.
