How long has it been now? It seems you’ve disappeared after your summer streak! Don’t forget about your boring older sister now. Unless you’re still bitter about me abandoning you in your first and my final year. You know I’m ever so sorry, but you also know that I don’t regret it.

I imagine you were waiting for me to owl you first? That seems reasonable, and my little familiar needed to stretch her legs anyways. I wish I could say that this was just a means to catch up, but unfortunately that would make me a liar. I have a proposal for you, and I dearly wish I could tell it to you in person, but for now these letters will have to do. Perhaps I should send you a howler!

All jokes. Now, I knew that what I'm going to ask you may seem a bit extreme, but I've already prepared as much as possible for you. I know you're probably going to think that that means I spoke to mother, but I'm going to squash that falsehood immediately just to spare your feelings. I have, however, reached out to Louis, which I'm sure is a small victory in your books. Please don't be cross for me going behind your back, but I just simply wasn't sure how you'd respond to such a bold request.

I'm rambling, I know. I'll run out of parchment soon enough, so I'll just come right out and ask: will you spend your treasured holiday break with me in York? You don't have to say yes, but it's quite lovely this time of year and all the arrangements are in place for you to come. Trust me, little owl, this will be the best break of your life.
