Platform 9 3/4
Amelia couldn't take her eyes off the train as she near ran down the platform, nothing but excitement shining bright in her eyes. Her father followed along closely, nervously clutching his hat as his daughter clambered around, nothing with her except a bag slung around her shoulders. He, begrudgingly, was carrying the rest of her baggage.
"Look, dad!" Her eyes lit up with childish glee as she scrambled for the entrance, more than ready to climb aboard,"Isn't it exciting?!"
She had known ever since she was little that she was different, so when the owl came with her acceptance letter to a school she didn't even know existed, she was more than ecstatic. Standing here, with the train looming over her as students young and old rushing by did nothing but ignite the flame. She grinned, her eyes gleaming with childish glee as she turned to look at her dad, who simply smiled and nodded in quiet agreement.
"Your mother is very proud of you,"He murmured softly, a grin making its way to his face as he leaned over to press a kiss to the younger's head,"She wished she could come see you off... but ya know..." His voice trailed off and she nodded, knowing better than to press the matter.
So instead, she smiled brightly and planted a kiss on his chin before she rambled a quick goodbye,"The train's going to be leaving soon! I promise you won't have to worry about me. If I forget anything I have my remembrall and I'm sure I'll make some friends soon!" She snatched whatever baggage she had left and didn't really give him room to respond as she scrambled on the train, smiling warmly at everyone as she passed by them.
This is my chance at a new start, she mused as she made her way to the back of the train where it was much quieter. She peaked inside the window of a compartment and smiled to herself when she noted that no one was there before she clambered inside, tossing her stuff in the compartment above before she settled into the seat below, taking care to pull out one of her books so she could skim over it before classes started. All of this was so new, so foreign... and she loved every bit of it.

After having looked through multiple carriages, Teiki finally found one that seemed, available.
I hope I have truly found someplace I can sit... Who knows, though? She looked around for a while, before coming over to the door.
"Ah, hello. Do you mind if I join you?" Teiki asked, standing by the door. If the girl denied her, she would find a compartment to herself. That would be fine, but honestly, I need to meet someone... Teiki pondered this as she waited.
Of course, if the girl accepted her into the compartment, she would put her luggage into the compartment and sit down.
"Hello, I'm Teiki." She smiled, noticing the book in her hand. "Oh, what book is it?"
She looked around the compartment, realizing that literally anything could be a secret hidden passage. She smiled in wonder, before turning her attention back to the girl.
"I'm sorry to keep disturbing you, but what House do you think you'll be in? I think I might be a Gryffindor, but I'm not sure. It all seems so exciting... I'm rambling, sorry." She blushed, and then looked out the window at the passing scenery. It seemed so fantastical to actually be happening, but it was. And it was magical. Hogwarts! A dream...

Amelia lifted her gaze and smiled kindly, her eyes dancing with as much excitement as Teiki's were,"I'm thinking I might fit somewhere between Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff, but I really don't know." She paused a moment before blinking in surprise, realizing she hadn't introduced herself,"I-I uh! Sorry!" She extended her hand and grinned from ear to ear,"My name's Amelia. Amelia Boux!"
After the girl shook her hand, she relaxed back into her seat and nervously played with the book in her lap, searching for something to say. After a few moment of awkward silence she cleared her throat and glanced away, unsure of whether or not the question was taboo but she asked anyway,"I hope you don't mind me asking but... are you from a muggle family? Because I am. When I got my letter I was so excited! No one in my family had ever heard of witches or wizards before, so it was a shock when we figured out I possessed magic.." She rambled along, her mind flitting back to that moment when she had received her letter.
Her parents had been so ecstatic that they had almost left the house immediately to help her buy her supplies, not that she had really needed to then. But she enjoyed the amount of attention they supplied her with every now and then. Realizing that she herself was losing focus, she turned her gaze to the girl and grinned brightly, waiting for her response.

"Oh!" Teiki smiled. "Well, my mom's a muggle. My father's a wizard, though. I think the excitement's there for everyone, though. My cousin told me a lot about Hogwarts, but she said her stories didn't nearly match the amount of wonder and excitement I would feel when I actually got there. She's so right, though, and I haven't even gotten to Hogwarts!" She laughed. She paused for a moment before asking another question on her mind.
"Do you think other's are as excited? I hope so, it's magic after all! Also, isn't so cool how magic can create hidden doors that are in plain site. I didn't believe my father when he said that post-wall-thingy was the entrance to Platform 9 3/4!" She laughed again, before realizing she had talked a lot without really giving the other girl some time to talk as well. She blushed, pausing some more to allow her (hopefully) newfound friend to talk. She looked out the window before again, asking another question.
"Gosh! I'm sorry, I have another question. Where did you grow up? I grew up in France, but not anywhere near Paris. More towards grassy hills and flowers. It was great." She sighed, thinking back to her adventures with Milly (her pet dog and..), her faithful adventure companion.

Amelia grinned softly at her companion's rambling and knew she was just as guilty. She paused a moment, contemplating her question before she turned her gaze to her friend,"Well, I grew up in England. I don't know if you've heard of it, but I live in a town called Winsford." Her thoughts wandered again, and she found herself thinking of all the times she stood on the bride overlooking the River. She smiled, more so to herself as she continued,"There are only a few neighborhoods, but its nice. There's a church up the road from where I live and although I'm not religious myself, it was nice belonging somewhere when I was growing up." Not that the other kids cared for her that much, but she wasn't about to mention that to her companion.
"There's a creek that runs behind my house and I would run in it all the time. My mum and dad would get upset a lot because I would come inside with an army of frogs or a bowl full of fish or something,"She laughed softly, knowing it was odd for a girl to show as much interest in animals that weren't dogs and cats as she did and hoped her companion didn't think it was weird, so she continued talking,"There would actually be days where I wouldn't try to bring something home with me but a dog or cat would walk home with me and sit outside in our yard until I came back out. I even had a deer follow me once!"
She paused, thinking back to the other's words before she nodded, her smile turning into a grin,"And if anyone here isn't excited it would be a miracle. I've been unable to sit still since I got to the train!"

She laughed softly, imagining an army of frogs. They look pretty cute if they had little mini wooden swords and a small shield. She thought about all the little armies bouncing around, before turning back to Amelia.
"That must be really nice. It's nice to have a buddy, even if it's not a human one." She smiled as she remembered Milly, the bouncing puppy that followed her everywhere. Maybe she would become her patronus. Lilac always talked about patronuses being part of your heart and soul.
Amelia also couldn't sit still. It was nice to have someone who was as excited as she was coming to Hogwarts as well.
"Same, I'm really excited to be able to explore the campus. Lilac told me it was massive, but that I probably wouldn't be allowed to explore half of it simply because I'm a First Year." Amelia was a bit taken aback, as she had feared that the other girl would've ditched her as soon as they had reached Hogwarts, so she stared at her for a moment before she grinned and nodded, "Of course I would!"
She couldn't help but feel a tad bit impressed with herself just then. She had only gotten on the train for maybe thirty minutes while waiting for it to leave the station and she had already made a new friend. The thought put her at ease, because now she wouldn't have to worry about introducing herself to any of the other first years, who in truth looked intimidating compared to the girl sitting across from her.
"How cool would it be if we got put into the same house?" Amelia mused, the excitement bubbling in her chest reigniting at the thought. If she and Teiki were put into a House together, she would make it a point to spend as much time as physically possible with the other girl. Besides, it would be a win win for both of them, at least, she hoped it would be. New friendship, they would live in the same dorms, have the same classes... Amelia really couldn't see anything wrong with the set up.

Teiki grinned back at her friend. She was so excited. Not only would she be going to Hogwarts, but she had a friend as well to join her. At the beginning, she was almost positive she would be lonely for the first few days of school. She was glad the other girl also seemed to be bubbling in excitement.
"That would be so cool if we were in the same house! Would they call you before me or after? My last name's Laurent, so it's sort of in the middle.." She wondered about that. Since, so far, this was her only friend that she had, it would be great to have someone with her who seemed as excited as she was about most things. Plus, they were both First Years, which meant they would be having the same classes. She enjoyed the idea, for it meant that she would almost never be lonely.
"That sounds like a lot of fun! And even if we weren't in the same house, we could both still be friends. While I might be quite talkative, I still find it hard to make friends..." She smiled. She had always been more apart from the city she grew up with, generally only seeing her family. It was odd, Teiki didn't really remember ever talking to neighbors. Maybe they're far away?
She came back to the conversation at hand.

Amelia could only grin at her friend, her eyes alight with glee,"Oh, it's so exciting!" She chimed before she leaned forward, peering out the window to watch as people milled about. She used to be one of them, she realized, as she watched wizards weave in and out of the platform. She used to not know about any of this, any of the wonder, and for a while she almost believed herself to be cursed. But now as she sat here with Teiki, she knew she was everything but that.
"I really hope we're in the same house together. How amazing would that be?" She repeated, shifting to look at her friend,"The others would get so tired of us. We both talk a lot, and with the two of us together.." She couldn't help but laugh at the thought. The other students, whomever they may be with, would likely get annoyed with the amount of things she had to share, but she couldn't help it. It was just who she was.
She opened her mouth to continue her thoughts but at that moment the train whistle blew and all she could do was grin at her friend and peer out at the crowd expectantly, and to her surprise her father was still standing on the platform.
