Tea or paint water? What's the difference?

It was an early fall morning, he had just eaten breakfast. And was feeling, well. Cramped in the hall. And the common room wasn't much better. He'd taken a cup of tea to go with him, just to drink when he did, well- he wasn't sure what he would be doing that day just yet. If he would be doing homework, or maybe try a bit of readding. He just knew he couldn't be in the common room. It was far to full for his liking.
So he went to his dorm. That seemed like a good place to start, His dorm was like it always was. Neat and tidy. His desk was the exception. Mostly his painting supplies caused the mess. Even then, it was pretty neat. Just a paint brush or two not in the jars he liked to keep them in, some half finished paintings sitting waiting for him to complete them.
Painting, that was sounding like a good idea. So of course, Oliver ignored all the half finished pieces he had to do, and grabbed some very high quality water color paper. Only the best for him. His parents should be sending him some more in the upcoming days, if they were sticking with what they had planned. Supplies for his paintings at the end of every month. It was a good deal. For him.
He grabbed some clean paper, one of his pallets, a spray bottle of water, and a small little container. (that he used for more water.) He put all of that in his bag, taking out any school supplies that would have gotten ruined in the event of a leak of his water. It was unlikely but he wanted to be safe then sorry. Now all he needed to do was find something to paint.
Leaving the common room, Oliver went up to the main floor and out of the castle. It was a crisp fall day, the trees starting to turn colors. All of the greens of summers making way for the red, orange, and yellow of fall. Perfect. Simply perfect. With his muse found, Oliver waled around, trying to find just the right scenery to be the subject matter of his painting.
Then, he found it. A little opening of trees, that showed a bit of the lake. It was perfect. Oliver walked to a little area and sat against a tree, looking out at the lake view. The trees making almost a natural border for his view. Oliver couldn't help but lightly smile to himself. Wondering why this place wasn't more full. Unlike the common room. He took a drink from his tea, and started to sketch out what he would be painting.

─────A word you might use to describe Alex is sedulous, but of course, you silly little muggles probably don't know what that means. Don't worry, we'll use a more understandable word for you: perseverant. Hope that made it easier for you.
Anyway, the young Gryffindor had worked on a certain painting for nearly two months now. It was a lovely landscape of the Great Lake at sunrise, the ripples in the water had been detailed perfectly, the clouds had the most complimenting shading, the sky was a gorgeous ombré of red, orange, and yellow. She would work on it nearly every single morning since she arrived back at Hogwarts. It was the best work she had ever done, it showed just how far her skills had progressed over the years. But alas, some things are just too beautiful for this world. Just the morning prior she had been so busy admiring her art that she tripped over her own shoelace on her way back to her dorm after she had finally finished the painting. Long story short, it had been ruined, along with her newest sweater, which she hoped the house elves would be able to return to its former, unpainted state.
Yes, it was a tragedy. And yeah, maybe she cried for an hour that night. But there she was, 8am on the dot, heading to the Great lake to start fresh on the painting. Many great artists faced big setbacks, that's just part of being an artist. This was just proof that she was a great artist, or at least that's what she told herself. Alex had laid awake for most of the night trying to convince herself that she can just start over and it'll be fine. To prove herself right, she had packed her bag with one of the blank canvases she grandmother had sent her near the beginning of September, her oil paints, a load of paintbrushes, and a couples pencils.
She was just nearing her usual spot when she noticed a boy sitting under a tree next to where she would normally sit. Another minor setback. Alex contemplated leaving but ultimately decided that she wasn't going to allow this trespasser to ruin her hopeful mood. Sighing, she began to approach the boy. "So... you're like, in my spot. If you could maybe move yourself and your..." she paused, examining the paper and other art supplies he had out. "Watercolor. Yeah, now you've definitely got to move."

Tea or paint water? What's the difference?

Oliver had been finding himself quite unlucky in school. His grades were good, he knew that much. They had to be, his lack of luck had started from the moment he sat down on the stool September first. And was placed into Slytherin of all places, instead of noble Gryffindor. Things went further downhill from there onwards, running into many annoyances. Many. people that had insisted on friendship, and academic rivals pushing him to his limits. A roommate as different from him as night is from the day. He'd never been one to socialize; mostly back home he spent time with his siblings. They- for the most part -understood him.
And yet at Hogwarts he didn't think he'd found someone he could consider a full 'friend' he couldn't count Aaron, as he didn't really hang out with the seventh year. With Aaron having his own friends, and needs to study for NEWT's. Oliver was what people could call a 'loner'. Trying to avoid people at all costs, as again, they annoyed him. No way around it. He had found joy in studying. Making sure things where good, and his grades never fell bellow a E, working on making sure they were all O's.
When he wasn't studying he was painting. It brought a sense of peace in few words. Naturally he had thought that if he woke up early enough he could get something to drink without running into someone he knew, check. Find a place outside before it got to cold to enjoy the weather, check. Find an amazing view to paint, check. The only other step (perhaps the hardest one) was to paint without a hitch. The universe had it out for him, he was convinced. Whenever he was having a good time doing something it sent someone his way.
Today was no different, his roadblock to having a good time came in the form of a short freckled girl. Whom Oliver had no recollection of. Was she serious? They were outside, there where no spots. If there had been stuff there, he maybe could have understood it being 'her spot' yet, he looked around himself and the tree he was under. Just what he thought, only his things. And she had the audacity to insult his art medium. "Well, would you look at that."
He said looking up at her, face unamused. "I don't see your name, nor your things. So;" He paused giving it some fake thought, Oliver was not in the mood for this at all. Having just wanted to enjoy some painting. Alone. "I don't think this is your spot. I'm not moving." He shrugged and got back to his sketching. Hoping the girl would get the hint and go away. "Have a nice day, or don't." there were plenty of other places that she could sit, he didn't understand why it had to be his spot. Or why this always seemed to happen to him.
